Chapter 133

Valerie Will

~•~

As soon as my eyes fluttered open in the morning, I picked up my phone and booked a ride back home. I already spent the entire night crying and packing up my bags.

I just couldn’t believe Patrick.

After assuring me that Madison didn’t mean anything to him, he was still in contact with her. ‘Thanks for last night’. I scoffed as I remembered the text.

Did he think I was a child? Why was he trying to convince me that I was taking the text out of context? What other explanation would justify that text?

Patrick knew how I felt about Madison.

I could see the guilt in his eyes — that alone was enough to tell me what I needed to hear. And the fact that he couldn’t even take her call in front of me made everything worse.

He messed around with her and still had the guts to sleep with me the next day. I felt so stupid. Why did I always end up making dumb choices?

I should’ve known better.

What was I even thinking about going on a trip with him? It wasn’t lik

Chapter 137Patrick Banks ~•~I froze when I saw him. Noah. He had grown a little bit taller. He wasn’t even with a jacket, he looked cold. I pulled him into a warm hug. “How did you get here?” I asked when I broke the hug, crouching down to his level. “How long have you been outside the gate for?” Noah shrugged his shoulders, his voice low as he responded. “I don’t know. My legs are hurting me. I’ve been standing outside for a while now.” My chest tightened at his words. He had been outside for a while but nobody noticed. “Why didn’t you knock on the gate?” I asked, lowering my gaze. He didn’t respond, he just let out a tired sigh. Even if Noah wasn’t my biological son, I still cared deeply about him. My feelings towards him didn’t change on bit even if we were apart for months. “Who brought you here?” I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me. “My mommy.” “Okay,” I responded with a sigh. “Let’s go inside.” When the worker asked me to rush to the gate, I thought t

Chapter 136Patrick Banks ~•~I was ready to do anything for Valerie to forgive me, but I couldn’t let her get full custody of Liam. Even if I didn’t want to admit it, Liam was the only person tying us together. Valerie wouldn’t even be in my house if it weren’t for Liam. And most importantly, she would have cut me off completely from her life. I honestly didn’t know that she was still interested in taking Liam away from me. I thought that we were doing a good job of co-parenting him. I let out a deep sigh. “I’ve heard your request but do you want to do that to Liam? Do you want to take him away from his father? The boy has already been through a lot.” Valerie scoffed. “I’m not taking him away from you. You’ll still see him. You can come visit him whenever you want.” She replied, folding her arms around her chest. My heart dropped. “Visit him where? You already have plans to move out of the house?” I asked, my voice cracking slightly. She nodded slowly. “Maybe. I’ve been thinki

Chapter 135Valerie Will ~•~“Hey.” My voice was low. “Where are you, Valerie?” My mom’s concerned voice echoed from the other end of the line. I let out a deep sigh. Even if she hadn’t said it, I knew Patrick must’ve asked her to call me. Since I blocked both numbers, he had no choice but to run to my mother. “I’m not home. Why are you asking?” I demanded, pretending I had no idea why she asked. “Is everything okay with Liam?” My mother let out a soft chuckle. “What happened? Why did you leave the villa? You were meant to stay there for three days.” I scoffed. “Patrick should find someone else to play with,” I replied, rolling my eyes. “I don’t have time for his silly games.” She exhaled sharply. “Everything seemed fine yesterday. What went wrong?” She asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice. I honestly didn’t want to discuss our problems with my mother. “He could have told you when he asked you to call me. I don’t want to talk about it.” “Are you sure?” She asked, her

Chapter 134Valerie Will ~•~I clutched the phone tighter, letting out a deep sigh. “Nothing…..I just wanted to talk to you.” I replied, my voice calm and precise. Jamal responded with a chuckle. “Talk? About what?” I closed my eyes briefly, sitting up on the bed. “I just wanted to see how you were doing. It’s been a long time since we spoke to each other.” Jamal sighed. “You should be happy I even answered your call.” My heart shattered at his words. “You just called on a good day.” I held back a scoff. But could I even blame him for his reaction? “I guess enough….I’m grateful alone for the fact that you answered the call.” I admitted, my voice low. “Jamal, I owe you an apology.” He didn’t respond, so I guess he was waiting for the apology. I cleared my throat and continued. “I’m sorry for cheating on you with Patrick. That was very selfish and stupid of me.” “Is that all?” He asked, his tone sharper. I nodded slowly. “Yeah. But I’m also sorry for ruining our relationship

Chapter 131Patrick Banks ~•~“Try again, Madison?” I asked with a scoff. “Don’t say something like that anymore.” “Why?” She breathed, a hint of disappointment in her voice. “You know that Valerie is still in the picture.” She scoffed bitterly. “But you guys aren’t even together.” That sentence was triggering but I tried my best to stay calm. “It doesn’t matter. We are having a baby together and you need to respect that.” Madison let out a humorless chuckle. “Are you forgetting the fact that you knew me before her? Have you forgotten about all the good times we shared?” I closed my eyes briefly, letting out a deep sigh. “Valerie and I were married. We had a baby together.” I replied, my voice sharper than I had intended. “But you…..us….we were just in a relationship.” “So our relationship didn’t mean anything to you?” She asked, her voice low. “You’re just going to toss me away like I never meant anything to you.” I let out a deep exhale. “I’m not even meant to be talking to
