Jordyn’s POV

Laura kept scrunching her hair and chuckled.

“Going through my things?” she asked, but her tone was playful.

I was pretty upset and in no mood for playful banter. I wanted an explanation. I honestly couldn’t believe what I’d read in the contract.

“Why did you do this?” I demanded, still brandishing the contract.

Laura sighed.

“Jordyn,” she said, coming into the office. “It’s just business. You of all people should know that. I haven’t done anything wrong.”

“Do you honestly think Cassandra and Stella would have signed this if they’d taken the time to read it?” I asked her.

“I don’t know,” Laura replied. “It sounds like you’re accusing me of something. But I think you’re forgetting that I helped them out of a tight spot. I loaned them a lot of money, Jordyn.”

“Don’t act innocent,” I snapped at her. “You knew damn well what you were doing when you drew up this contract. Yes, y

Dillon’s POV I surveyed the fully packed suitcases in the foyer. “So, these are all full?” I asked. Cassandra bit her lip and nodded, an excited look in her eyes. “You and Stella spent the day buying a whole new wardrobe for the trip?” I’d been stunned when Cassandra showed up after dinner, her car full of suitcases. “Yes,” she said, still biting her lip. “And new suitcases too.” “Mine too? I mean, you bought me a suitcase full of clothes?” “I did,” she nodded proudly. “So everything’s right here? Ready to go?” “It is,” she smiled. “I’m not really sure what to say,” I told her. “It was Stella’s idea,” she told me. “Of course it was,” I nodded. “You’re not mad, are you?” Cassandra asked. “At you?” I teased. “Never.” I reached out and pulled her in for a tight hug. I had to admit that although it was a bit crazy, it was also kinda br

Cassandra’s POV “All packed and ready to go?” Stella asked, appearing in my doorway, a cup of coffee in her hand. She looked fabulous in another one of the suits from her new line. This one featured some bling in the way of Swarovski crystals along the lapels. “As if,” I chuckled. “You?” “Far from it,” she said, striding in and taking a seat at my desk. “I swear, my to-do list just keeps getting longer.” “Delegate,” I told her. “It’s just a week. We have more than enough capable staff to hold down the fort here.” “I know,” Stella sighed. “It’s just all the other things. Like the packing. I used to love packing for trips. Remember?” I nodded. It used to be ‘our’ thing, packing. Stella and I would spend hours planning out our outfits, wine glass in hand, gigging late into the night. “It feels like work now, doesn’t it? Packing?” Ensuring that all the kids had everything they needed for a w

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 520: Sunday

Cassandra’s POV We pulled up to the indoor playground. “Ready?” Dillon asked, a wry smile on his face. We were at a birthday party for a little girl from my Thursday afternoon Mommy and Me class. They were having the party at an indoor gym, and the last I heard, the guest list was over 30 children. Dillon and I took a deep, steadying breath. This was the calm before the storm. We knew all too well what sort of chaos beheld us inside those doors. Screaming children, bruised knees, sugar overloads, mini-meltdowns. It had been our experience that a real life circus paled in comparison to a toddler-aged birthday party. So we needed a moment to collect ourselves before entering the massive gym. “Ready,” I said to Dillon, my eyes locked firmly on the doors to the gym. “We got this.” Dillon and I each stepped out of the car to unbuckle a twin from their car seats in the back. “Who’s this party for again?

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 519: I Can Let Loose

Cassandra’s POV “She’s really wonderful, Stanley. You would be so proud of Jordyn.” I sighed and rested my hands on my chins. The untouched snow was so beautiful in the morning light. Everything felt so peaceful and serene. Dillon had convinced me that Stanley’s ghost haunted the house. Not in a bad, threatening way, but more in like a ‘I’m just checking in every so often’ sort of way. I could never really tell if Dillon truly believed it or not, but it didn’t matter. Over the years, I’d come to believe it myself. In a playful way, of course, but every so often, when I was alone like this, I found myself talking to Stanley. Whether or not his ghost was actually there didn’t matter. It was comforting nonetheless. “I’m sure you already know all about her, Dakota. She’s Dillon’s sister. Small world, huh?” I chuckled to myself. “In any case, Jordyn finally bit the bullet and asked her to marry him. We’re all going to Cancun for the big day. So

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 518: Saturday Morning Breakfast

Cassandra’s POV The next morning, I woke up with the trip on my mind. Dillon was already up, probably making the kids his famous Saturday morning French toast. I wrapped myself in my robe and padded down to the kitchen. It was a bright, sunny morning, with the sunlight so bright on the snow, it made me squint. Without any clouds in the sky, it was chillier than usual. There was frost on the outside of the windows. Tulia and Jordie were seated at the kitchen island, kicking their feet, giggling as Dillon made a show of flipping the French toast. It was a sight that always warmed my heart. Dillon donned his ‘father of the year’ apron, a father’s day gift picked out by Jordie himself. He had French toast batter smudged on his left cheek. But he was in his element. There were few things that Dillon loved more than cooking his family a big breakfast on a lazy Saturday morning. “Where are the twins?” I asked, stifling a ya

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter  517: Congratulations!

Cassandra’s POV We all stared at one another. For a moment, no one said anything. It was Dillon who broke the silence. “I assumed you responded,” Dillon told me. “I assumed you did. She’s your sister,” I defended myself. “She’s your friend. And so is Jordyn,” Dillon replied. “You didn’t reply to the email, Stella?” Cameron said accusatorily. “No, I was working,” Stella quipped back. “So was I,” Cameron said. “Looking after our kids is work, Stell.” “Okay, everyone just…stop,” I said, holding up my hand. I couldn’t believe that NONE of us had replied. I glanced at my watch. It was almost midnight. The email had actually been sent that morning, our time, very early in the morning. I just hadn’t seen it until later. Which meant that it had been well over twelve hours since they’d sent it. “Dakota must be out of her mind by now,” Dillon said, shaking his head. “She probably think
