"Welcome young—….," James bows to greet me but I stride past him, furious, ignoring him.

I see the panic in his eyes but I don't wait for him to get the door, I push it open, my steps quick and filled with venom.

I burst through the door of my grandfather's study, walking past Henry, who didn't dare stop me.

"How could you?" I thundered as I stormed inside, my fury seeping through every pore of my body.

Grandfather drops his coffee, his eyes slowly meeting mine, I see the confusion in them. He furrows his eyebrows at me but said nothing.

I inch closer. "How could you lie about the death of my mother?" I seethe, my voice high-pitched, there was no hesitation, no regard, no warmth, just cold anger.

And just then, his eyes widens. I see a mix of something flash through his eyes, maybe shock— surprise. I don't care.

"That wench!" He cursed, his voice is low but I could hear him loud and clear. The look on his face tells me all l need to know, he never thought I'd ever find out.

(Ivy)I had suggested my office but Mrs Mabel insisted that it should be anywhere but the corporation.I didn't have to ask why, I'm not blind, I could clearly see the fear in her eyes and the urgent need to be cautious. And I can tell that whatever she's about to tell me, it's important. So, I drove us to somewhere safer, a penthouse I bought earlier this year in my daughter's name.I watch her gulp the water I had offered, looking nothing like her old self, she looks —- tired, haggard and emaciated.I can't quite make out what had happened to her, and my nerves are extremely short, leaving my mind itching to know this truth, all of it.I hold my breath, waiting.Mrs Mabel brings down the now empty glass and clears her throat. “I didn't leave, not willingly,” she begins, but there's a weight to her words that makes my stomach tighten. She paused, like she's searching for the right words. “The chair lady made me,” the words hangs in the air as I try to process it.That's hard to believ

(Ivy)My phone rings on my desk and I reach out to get it, and surprisingly it was my grandfather calling.I squint, my hand lingering on my phone screen a little longer. It wasn't often that my grandpa called me during work hours and whenever that happens, it only means one thing…I was more than certain that this call meant trouble. I could also be sure that it was about that asshole and my recent action against him.Pushing my gut feeling aside, I slide the green icon and bring the phone to my ear, somewhat waiting to be reprimanded and it happens as I thought."Is this true?" George Reynolds demanded.I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Good afternoon, Grandpa." I say, earning me a scoff."Did you file a restraining order against Daniel Moore?" My grandfather asked, his voice high-pitched.Yes, this call screams trouble at first ring and I'm certainly not in for it right now.I sighed, my patience wearing thin. "Seriously? Is this why you called?" I dare ask, my voice firm."You sti

(Calvin)"So, let me get this straight," Christian tilts his head. "You can't stand your new assistant?" He asks, his eyebrows furrowed at me in confusion."She's annoying and it infuriates me," I say through gritted teeth."But you always can't stand any of your past assistants, why the fuss?" He rolls his eyes at me.Yeah, the same question Derrick asked me last night and even as I sit here, I still can't wrap my head around why I'm letting her get into my head.I bring my glass to my lips and gulped half the content of the liquid. I clench my fist beside me. "You don't get it," I let out. "It's as if she's intentionally getting on my nerves, and with that stupid smile she usually wears on," my face tightens as I remember the stunt she pulled at my last meeting, making the investors to praise and adore her.To her, she saved the day but my hatred for her only grew.I'm not used to my staffs trying to fit in, especially my assistants, they're always scared of me, they all cower at my

(Ethan)I inwardly laughed at myself as I stared at the amber liquid in my glass. I used to see all those men chasing after women and I felt sorry for them.I had never struggled to have a woman's attention, never chased after one before. I had no time for all that romantic bullshit.Stephanie said she loved me in college, she flirted with me and I got attached, way too attached, only to be left heartbroken in the end, Dean said it was love, and that shit scares me to no end.I can't say I don't believe in love, my father loved my mother, I see the way Dean adores Bella, he'd do anything for her and sadly I had just as much faith in their love.So yeah, love does exist but it's not just for me.And yet, this strange woman has managed to pull out a side of me I never knew existed. For over three years, there has never been a day I didn't go to La Dolce Vita to look for her.I searched for her over all social media but of course they were many Tricias, that didn't help. Arthur wasn't ab

(Ivy)I've been out of court about less than an hour ago as court hearing has been adjourned to middle this month."To Reynold, please." I tell my driver, as I manage to get away from the reporters, resting my head in the backseat. As soon as I shrug into my favorite armchair, I reach for my phone and dialed Tracy's number."Congratulations, Ivy. We should celebrate tonight over pizza and a bottle of champagne and we can —-,"I roll my eyes and interrupt as quickly as I can. "Slow down, Tracy. The case has been adjourned, there's really no need to go overboard, just say you want pizza," I stifle a chuckle."Well, there's that," she strained through her teeth, I bet her ears are turning red at the idea of being caught. "But seriously though, that case should be done with, if you say he's guilty, then he is,"I could barely stop my smile from spreading. "They can only try," I say, my tone dismissive, deciding it was time to change the subject to one she'd really love to hear."I have Ar
