Juliet's POV

"Mommy," a tiny, soft voice rang in my ear as I drifted out of sleep, turning to the other side. Letting the sleep in my eyes take over once more, I sighed. I needed rest and I needed it, badly.

After James dropped me off and I got into the house, I made my way to my room, thinking I would fall into bed and sleep without giving another thought to my encounter with James. But I found myself reliving the moment of the kiss over and over in my head until I finally dozed off.

"Mommy, it's time for school," Jace’s voice pierced into my skull. My eyes fluttered open to see him sitting close to me on the bed, his mouth leaning near my ear.

"Jace?" I asked, as if I were dreaming, sitting up slowly. He shifted, staring at me.

"Oh, my baby," I muttered, glancing toward the clock on the nightstand. It was 9 o'clock, and Jace was already dressed in a blue polo shirt and black jeans. I stood up from the bed, shoving my hand into my hair to push it back as I walked into the bathroom to

Taking him out of his school only proves to Edward that he's the dad and you are hiding him from him. This behaviour is childish. Jace can have a relationship with his dad without you being with him. Move on with James and create a beautiful life kmt

•Edward POV•"Jeez, how can someone be so fake and heartless," Vera cursed under her breath as I pushed her out of the hospital toward the car parked in the lot."I don't know what she's playing at, but I won't let her get away with it," I said firmly. "I'm taking Juliet out of this hospital tomorrow. I’ll have to talk to the doctor about it.""I was thinking it wouldn’t be a good idea, but after what just happened, I think that’s a great idea," Vera groaned, leaning back in the wheelchair. "Did you see the look on her face? She’s acting like this is a soap opera and she’s the main character.""Well, she’s not as good as Raya," I replied. "You should’ve seen the fake look she put on the other day. Juliet doesn’t deserve to have people like that as family.""Raya is in China too?" Vera muttered, her voice dripping with disgust. We got to the car, and I let go of the wheelchair handle to open the door for her. Walking back, I bent down, lifted her gently from the chair, and helped her i

•Edward’s POV•The doctor straightened up. “That will be all, Miss Vera. I’ll inform the nurse to give you a prescription for the drugs you’ll need to take at home.”“Thank you, doctor,” Vera said with a small smile, exchanging a quick glance with Eric. The doctor nodded and turned to me with a sympathetic look. “I’ll let you know if there’s any improvement regarding your wife, Mr. Miles.” With that, he left the room.Eric moved to Vera’s wheelchair, gently helping her sit back, then walked to the other side of the bed to pick up the small bag he had brought along with supplies for her.“How are you feeling?” I asked.Vera let out a quiet sigh. “I’m fine… but I’m worried about Juliet. The doctor’s response didn’t help much. I just want to know that Juliet will wake up soon.”I pressed my lips together in a thin smile. “Same here. But we have to keep hoping. I’m glad you’re ready to come home, because Eric and I have been thinking about moving Juliet to another hospital.”Her eyebrows

•Edward’s POV•I looked towards Jace’s direction and watched as he chewed the food in his mouth peacefully. I patted him softly on the back with a smile, and his blue eyes met mine with quiet curiosity.“Do you like the breakfast, buddy?” I asked. He gave a small nod, his gaze quickly dropping back to his plate. I turned to mine, picking up my fork and taking a bite. “Mr. Miles,” Eric’s voice came from across the table, “I just got a text from the hospital. They said Vera is fit to come home. Her wounds are healed, but she’ll still need the wheelchair for a while before she’s back on her feet.”“That’s good news, Eric,” I said, taking a mouthful of toasted bread. “We can head to the hospital after breakfast. Having Vera at home will help keep Jace from thinking about Juliet too much.”Jace’s eyes flicked toward me at the mention of her name before he looked back at his food. I wished more than anything that Juliet would wake up soon. That would really make him happy. After breakfast,

•Edward POV•“Thank goodness, that evil man will finally get what he deserves,” Mrs. Carl muttered, her eyes still fixed on the TV screen. The news ended, and Eric reached for the remote, switching off the TV before grabbing his tablet. His eyes scanned quickly as his fingers moved across the screen. “I didn’t expect this to work so fast,” he said, almost in disbelief. “Comments online are going crazy.”“That’s goodnews, Eric,” I murmured, leaning back into the couch. “We just have to wait for him to get arrested.” I drew in a slow breath, letting the relief wash over me.Eric lowered himself onto the couch beside me, still locked into whatever he was reading. Mrs. Carl stood, dusting her palms against her apron. “Let me go and prepare breakfast,” she said with a small smile before turning toward the kitchen. The house settled into a quiet hum, the faint clink of pots in the kitchen, the soft sound of Eric’s scrolling, and my thoughts still circling around the news we’d just watched.

•Edward POV•I stayed with Juliet for some time before finally leaving her ward. Eric hadn’t returned, so I assumed he was with Vera. I ran a hand through my hair, letting out a long breath as I made my way to Vera's ward. Today had been a productive day, but sitting in silence beside Juliet made me realize something, none of it really mattered. The only thing that would truly make me happy was her waking up from this coma.“My love, take one more. The doctor said you need to eat well,” Eric’s voice floated toward me as I walked into Vera’s ward. He was sitting opposite her, holding a spoon close to her lips.Vera’s eyes softened at him, a small smile curling on her lips before she leaned forward and took the bite.I couldn’t help smiling as I leaned against the door frame. Eric noticed me and quickly set the plate on the table beside him, standing up almost too fast. “Mr. Miles, I didn’t know you were here.”“I just came in,” I said softly, stepping inside and settling on the small c

•Edward POV•Eric pulled into the driveway of the hospital and let out a calm breath. It was almost as if he could read my mind, because not long after, I let mine out too. I pushed the car door open and stepped out. We walked toward the entrance of the hospital and stopped at the receptionist’s desk.A lady with red hair packed neatly into a bun was there now, instead of the blonde one who used to be there. “Good afternoon, I’m Mr. Miles, and I’m here to see my wife, Juliet,” I said calmly. She looked at me for a moment, then glanced at Eric standing beside me before turning to her monitor. “Let me check if visitors are allowed at this time.” She typed for a few seconds, then looked up. “You can go.”I gave her a brief smile and walked away toward the elevator. Silence settled between Eric and me as we stood inside. He seemed lost in thought, his eyes unfocused, and I wondered what was running through his mind. The elevator chimed, and we stepped out. I headed straight for Juliet’s w
