Theo's POV

What a wasted effort.

Another failed mission.

I slammed the steering wheel several times, the loud honking of my car echoing on the long highway.

Stuck in a tight traffic, my frustration increased drastically.

Why's she giving me a hard time?

Why's everyone against me?

I can't believe Dave would reject me too. He never really liked me, but I'd looked forward to a different reaction from him.

I was so close.

Very close.

I could get a strand of his hair, carry out the DNA test, and get my own physical evidence-

If only Dave hadn't raised an alarm.

Of course, I didn't mean to take him away.

I'd planned to return him once we were done shopping and I also got what I wanted.

But my little trick didn't work.

What now?

Do I have to return to that place?

What if I don't find her there, what if she runs to another place?

My phone rang but I ignored it.

Currently in a bad mood, I don't want to speak with anyone.

However, the phone call persisted. Seeing Jessica's name on the

Ethan must have tried calling after not finding me in the hospital. I left suddenly, in a hurry, driven by the conviction and fear that Theo had kidnapped my son. Theo Wellington, that maniac. I forgot my phone and bag in his office, and he very well knew that I would head straight to the Wellington Mansion after leaving his company. He could have sent someone to return my things, but he didn’t. Because he’d expected me to come back— so he could finish what he started. I don’t know what came over him, but Theo had become more dangerous than ever. He confessed to me, knowing I’m married– as if nothing else mattered to him. It meant Theo had no restrictions. He doesn’t care about anything else except what he wants. Telling Ethan the truth… I’m not sure how he’ll perceive it. My reason for going to Theo’s company turned out to be groundless, and I also wished I could erase that part and even forget those words he told me. “I-I was at the Wellington Mansion,” I replied. “And my ph

  • Divorced To Steal His Heart    217. Her Fears

Olivia’s POV. This matter is affecting me more than it should. And it’s not good for my sanity. I couldn’t add this to my pile of problems. I should be happy, grateful in fact, that Theo’s grandfather had made a decision. But it’s that same decision that haunts me. I can’t imagine Dave being sent abroad to study. My son is too young for that. I can’t imagine him living alone in a foreign country- a boarding school, surrounded by strangers. Grandpa told me that Dave took after Theo, who was also fond of wandering off when he was a kid.Nobody could make him break that habit, and the only solution had been sending him abroad to study. Dave’s disappearance yesterday changed everything. It revealed a habit nobody suspected he had. He still wouldn’t mention where he spent the night, and that was scary. The more my son grows up, the bigger my fears become that he will turn out just like his father. Cold, stubborn, and dismissive. Will sending him to a boarding school change him?It

I left my car and approached her. “You’re back, Dear.”Olivia flinched, and her palm flew to her chest.Strangely, she hadn’t sensed my presence or footsteps.Maybe I’d been wrong. She wasn’t as calm as I’d imagined, and there was a hint of distraction in her eyes- a distant look.“Y-Yeah…” She forced a smile. “Were you waiting outside for me?”“I just arrived too.”She made an ‘Oh’ sound, nodding at my response. “Mom has been worried about us…” I added, noticing the subtle changes in her expression. She might look calm, but underneath the surface, there is a hint of anxiousness and hesitation. Her response to me was rapid. “That’s sad. Well, we’d better hurry inside! God, I’ve totally forgotten.”About what?My Mom?How could she easily forget that she had a guest in her apartment? What could have distracted her so much?I sighed. No need to jump to conclusions yet. Something had definitely happened with her, because she didn’t even return with her car. Olivia took the lead, and

  • Divorced To Steal His Heart    215. Coincidence

Ethan’s POV.I frowned. Is Theo Wellington threatening me?What is he doing with Olivia’s phone?Where is she?She was supposed to be at the hospital, but she only showed up and left immediately. “Your threats won’t work on me…” I replied. “Olivia is now my wife, and that will never change.”I hung up and tossed the phone on the passenger’s seat, my hand shaking as I gripped the steering wheel. If only that statement were true. If only she were really my wife. The fact that her phone managed to end up with Theo doesn’t settle well with me. Olivia is not that kind of woman. She’s not with him.I assured myself, yet the rage roared. I had to park my car in a corner of the road to cool off for a while.Theo’s words echoed. I shook it off. Olivia is mine. She was never supposed to marry him. She was never supposed to have a history with him in the first place. For three years, I’d endured and waited. Something inside me, a flicker of hope, had always told me that her marriage would

Her gut-punching response traveled straight to my heart. She thinks I’m crazy. She doesn’t believe me. I’ve already let the cat out of the bag, so there’s no turning back. I tried my best— observed the utmost self-control to hide my feelings. But it burned, too suffocating. If I didn’t let it out, I might turn into someone else entirely. A new me that I will no longer recognize. “I’m not joking…” I rose to my feet, closing the distance between us, slowly- carefully. “Ever since you left five years ago, your thoughts have always occupied my mind. I won’t get rest- my heart won’t find peace until you come back to me.”Her expression shifted. “Leaving Ethan will cost you nothing,” I went on, reading her expression, calculating her body language. “It’s not like this hasn’t been done before.”Her stance wavered. And then she stiffened, her body turning rigid, almost defensive. “Stop this nonsense, Theo-”“It’s not nonsense.” I stopped in front of her. “I like you, Olivia. I can’t cont

Carefully, she cleaned up the wound with a chemical that stung. And then she dabbed something onto the wound before covering it up with a plaster.Throughout the process, my eyes were fixated on one thing… Her face. At some point, I found myself inching away, yet she commanded me to stay still.“It will no longer hurt once I’m done. Just be patient,” She’d said.Even if there was pain, I didn’t feel it. I couldn’t. Lost in a trance, my heart trembled, and I couldn’t force myself to look away as she carefully treated the wound.“Thank goodness it’s a small injury.” She sighed, putting the tools and bottles back inside the box. “But still, you must avoid getting it infected. Once again, I apologize for my craziness. I did it without thinking.”My fingers wandered up, and I touched the place. It was no longer bleeding. The plaster was solid. Was this what it took to make her take down her facade?Unbelievable.Just when I thought she’d completely changed. As it turned out, she’d just bu
