'Take a deep breath, Delaney... Breathe...' Delaney cautioned herself. She couldn't afford to sell herself out so easily. Maybe Blaine was just trying to play mind games on her.

"What are you talking about, Blaine?" She cleared her throat and steadied her voice. Although her eyes almost betrayed her emotions, but she firmly masked her nervousness.

"Answer the damn question, Delaney!" he snapped at her, trying so hard to maintain a grip on his emotions.

"I was home all weekend, Blaine!" She half-yelled, but a thousand thoughts ran through her mind. She was very certain he'd attended the conference. And there was no way he could know she wasn't home during the weekend. She decided to stand firm on her lies.
