It was a typical Monday morning for Adonis as he busied himself with the pile of paperwork on his table when his phone rang, causing him to stop.

He glanced at the caller and stared with mixed emotion - Delaney. He abandoned all he was doing and answered the call.

"Dela..." He called.

"Adonis." There was an awkward silence before she went on to speak. "I'm sorry, I missed your calls last night." She spoke softly.

"Was something wrong?" He asked in his usual cold voice. Delaney could tell he wasn't happy.

"No, Adonis. Nothing was wrong. I just... I went to bed quite early last night." She explained.

"I see." He paused briefly before adding. "And you are sure about that?"

"Of course I am. Is something wrong?" She was curious and nervous at the same time.

"Why did you lie to me, Dela?" His icy tone held no warmth.

"What are you talking about, Adonis?"

"I asked if Blaine still made advances at you, and you denied it. Why?" He was extremely angry but did so well to keep his emotions in che
