RORY’S POV

After everything that had happened inside this room, hearing Darius admit what he had done, and seeing the evidence of his crimes with my own eyes, Lucian stood without saying a single word, but his expression turned dark and unreadable

Then a soft whimper came from behind him.

His attention immediately shifted toward Trixie. She stood frozen, staring at her brother with tears covering her face. One hand was pressed against her chest while her entire body trembled. The shock on her expression looked genuine as she looked at Darius, who was still on the ground beneath me.

“Darius…” she whispered. “What have you done?” Her voice broke as she looked between him and me. Then her eyes moved toward Lucian.

“I only found out now,” she said while clasping both of her hands together tightly. “I did not know my brother was responsible for the attack on the Luna.”

Tears continued falling from her eyes as she shook her head. “Rory, I am sorry. I truly did not know. Please, I am begging you, let him go.”

She wiped the tears from her face, but her voice continued trembling. “If you want the truth to be known, I will tell everyone myself. I’ll publicly admit what he did and make sure everyone knows that my brother was the one who attacked you.”

I watched every expression on her face. The sadness, fear and desperation. But none of it changed what happened.

My eyes lowered to Darius.

He was lying beneath me, injured and bleeding. His breathing was uneven, and his face had lost the confidence he carried earlier. My hand remained wrapped around his throat, holding him in place.

Trixie stepped closer, her face filled with worry. “Rory, you are the Luna of this pack,” she said softly. “You cannot destroy yourself because of hatred.”

My anger immediately returned.

Destroy myself?

“If I had not fought back that day, I would already be dead.” My voice came out quieter than I expected.

I looked at Darius while remembering every moment of that attack. “I would not have survived if I had not protected myself.”

My grip tightened around Darius’s throat. A painful sound escaped him as his fingers grabbed my wrist. For a moment, I almost let everything consume me.

I wanted him to feel the fear he had forced me to experience and understand what he had done. But I still did not release him. Seeing that I refused to move, Trixie’s expression changed.

She struggled to step forward and lower herself. She was trying to kneel. Before she could reach the ground, Lucian immediately moved toward her.

His hand caught her arm, and he supported her before she could fall. That single action caused something inside me to ache. Even after seeing what I had endured. His first instinct was still to protect her.

“Enough, Rory.”

Lucian’s voice was cold. My eyes slowly moved toward him.

“Let him go.”

I stared at him while waiting for him to say something else. I waited for him to acknowledge what Darius had done. But he only looked at me with the same expression he always wore when he wanted me to obey.

My heart broke quietly.

Slowly, my fingers loosened and I released Darius. The moment I moved away, Lucian’s men rushed forward and helped him stand.

Darius struggled at first, but once he was supported, the arrogance returned to his face. “Do you actually think this changes anything?” he said, wiping blood from his mouth.

His eyes narrowed at me. “You are still the woman Lucian never wanted.”

My expression hardened. “You should be grateful you are still alive.”

Darius laughed. “You will regret this. I will kill you one day.”

The anger inside me rose again. I stepped forward before anyone could react and punched him.

A painful sound escaped him as he stumbled backward. But once again, Lucian stopped me.

His hand caught my arm. I turned around and looked directly into his eyes. I did not look away. I wanted him to see my anger and understand exactly what his choice had done. But he didn’t say anything, just shook his head.

Then I calmly pulled my arm away from his hold. I adjusted my clothes, straightened my posture, and looked at him one last time.

Without saying another word, I turned around and walked out of the club without looking back.

The moment I returned to the pack, I removed the blood-covered clothes from my body and threw them into the fire.

I watched silently as the flames consumed the fabric that carried the evidence of everything I had endured that night. My hands remained still at my sides while I stared, remembering the pain, anger, and helplessness I had felt when I realized Lucian had chosen to protect Darius.

After that, I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower.

The hot water fell over my body, washing away the dirt and blood that remained on my skin. I stood there for a long time, allowing the warmth to cover me while my mind continued replaying every moment.

Slowly, I lifted my hands.

My palms were still stained with faint traces of blood. I looked at them quietly, remembering how those same hands had fought to survive. They had protected me when no one else came.

But no matter how long I stayed under the water, I could not remove the cold feeling that remained inside my chest. The pain and disappointment was still there.

The realization that Lucian had arrived, but not for me, continued hurting more than I wanted to admit.

My eyes got filled with tears.

I covered my mouth as a broken sound escaped me, trying to keep myself quiet even though there was no one else around. For the first time in a long time, I thought I could finally allow myself to fall apart. That I could cry without anyone seeing me. Then a soft sound reached my ears.

The bathroom door moved.

My body immediately became tense, and I turned around quickly.

Lucian stood outside.

His expression remained stern and unreadable. But when his eyes fell on the wounds covering my body. His usual coldness was gone.

RORY’S POVThe entire hospital was in chaos by the time I fully understood what had happened.Doctors moved quickly through the halls, guards questioned one another, and every person around Darius’s room looked unsettled. The security that had been placed around him was supposed to prevent this exact situation, yet somehow, he was dead.My mind struggled to accept it.Darius had been alive only moments ago. He had been the person who could have given us answers. Now he was gone. A doctor stepped out of the room, his expression serious.“His condition changed unexpectedly,” he explained. “Despite the protection around him and our attempts to stabilize him, he did not survive.”My anger returned instantly.“Unexpectedly?”The doctor looked at me, but his expression remained guarded. “How does someone die unexpectedly while being protected by guards?”My voice carried the disbelief and frustration I could no longer contain. No one answered. The silence that followed only made the situat

  • Divorcing My Alpha, He Wanted Another Luna   CHAPTER 29

RORY’S POVThe determination I felt carried me through the hospital doors without hesitation.Darius had answers, and I needed to hear them from him directly. He had been receiving payments, and he knew more than he had admitted. Whether he was guilty or simply another piece of a larger plan, I needed to question him myself. However, I barely made it past the entrance to the private floor before two of Lucian’s guards stepped in front of me. “Luna, you cannot enter.”I stopped and my expression hardened as I stared at them. “Move.”The guards exchanged a brief glance before shaking their heads. “We have orders.”“Orders from who?” I asked, even though I already knew the answer.“Alpha Lucian.”My hands tightened at my sides.Of course.Even here, even now, Lucian was still deciding what I could and could not do. “Are you telling me that I cannot question the man who was connected to the people who tried to kill me?”My voice rose with every word. The frustration I had carried for days

Rory’s POVThe journey to the settlement was quieter than usual. When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was how abandoned the area looked. The buildings around us appeared old and unused, with most of the shops closed and very few people walking through the streets.Adrian looked around carefully. “This place has not been active for a long time.”I stepped out of the vehicle and studied the area. “That is probably why they used it.”A place everyone had forgotten was the easiest place to hide something important. We followed the information we had gathered until we reached an old building near the edge of the settlement. The structure looked like it had not been occupied in years, but something about it felt wrong. The door was damaged, but the inside was cleaner than the outside. Someone had been here recently and Adrian noticed it too. “Someone has been using this place.”I nodded. We searched through the building carefully, checking every room and every possible hiding place. Lucian’s POVThe image of Rory standing beside Adrian stayed in my mind long after I left the courtyard.I had tried to focus on everything else. Yet every time I forced myself to concentrate, I remembered the way Rory looked at Adrian. She had smiled.I had spent years seeing her angry, disappointed, and distant because of me. Seeing her comfortable with another man made something inside me become restless. My silence did not go unnoticed.“Lucian,” Silas called. I looked up from the documents on my desk. My Beta was standing across from me, watching me.“What?”He studied me for a moment.“Something happened.”I returned my attention to the papers.“Nothing happened.”Silas did not believe me. He knew me too well. “You have been staring at the same page for almost ten minutes.”I said nothing. The last thing I wanted was to explain that my thoughts were not on the investigation but on Rory and Adrian. Instead, I turned the page and forced myself to focus. “We need to find the interme

RORY’S POV“Rory, you need to look at this before you make another decision,” Adrian said quietly. His voice pulled my attention back to the documents spread across the table in front of me. Adrian placed the ledger beside me while he continued reviewing the records.“We have been searching for the intermediary using the same information repeatedly,” he explained. “If he has been careful enough to hide his identity, we need to search for where he has been rather than who he claims to be.”I looked at him confused. “What do you mean?”Adrian pointed toward the payment records. “Look at these names. They are different, but the payment patterns are the same. He has moved through several packs using different identities.”My eyes moved across the pages again. He was right. The intermediary had changed his name multiple times while moving between territories. Every record showed a different identity, but the same financial connections continued appearing. The realization made my chest t

LUCIAN’S POV “Has Rory already submitted the dissolution application?”The frustration in my voice was impossible to hide as I stood inside my office, staring at the documents scattered across my desk.Silas looked at me carefully before answering. “No, Lucian. She has not.”The tension in my chest eased slightly, but only for a moment. “Why?”“Because your signature is still required before it can be completed.”I looked away from him, remembering the document that had existed between Rory and me for months. “Where is it?”Silas hesitated.“I do not know.”My fingers tightened against the edge of the desk. Months ago, I had allowed that document to exist because I thought it was only something Rory needed in order to feel like she had control over her own future. I never believed she would actually use it.I had been wrong.“She really intends to leave,” I said quietly. Silas remained silent and his silence told me enough.Later that day, another report arrived. This time, it was no
