Chapter 39: I knew it

Summer’s Point of View

The dimly lit room was filled with a light, flowery scent that tickled my nose. I could hear the faint sound of a distant clock ticking away the seconds. My body felt stiff and sore, as if I had been laying here for hours.

Feeling an uncomfortable sensation, I let out a small grunt and kept shifting on my bed in discomfort. The battle between the heat and the cold in my body was making it difficult for me to breathe. This month had been incredibly stressful for my body. I fear that if another accident were to occur, it could be fatal.

As the door let out a soft creak, I gradually pried open my heavy eyelids. As soon as I fully opened it, my eyes were immediately drawn to a towering figure.
