Lillian’s POV

Days have passed, but there is still no choice about my mother’s whereabouts. She’s really taking great effort to hide.

Since there’s no more clue on where we can find her and we have exhaust every resources we can find and have looked in every possible place she might be, which all ends up in vain, we take a rest and focus on the recent days on handling the paperwork of the house I am renting.

With my first salary, I have paid the deposit and advance for the house and signed the contract with the real estate agent.

Thankfully, everything goes smoothly.

“Hurry up!”

“Be careful with that, that box is full of fragile things.”

“Add this, Lillian may need this.”

I stand in the living room of Craig’s house, watching the chaos before me as Maddox and Craig look far busier than I am, instructing the workers from the moving company with strictness and meticulousness on every detail.

Keegan’s POVDays have passed since that commotion, and I still refuse to see my mom or Sienna. They have tried to approach me countless times, but I keep ignoring them and treat them coldly. It’s almost like I am lifeless. A robot that comes and go to my office to work my ass off but barely cares about anything.I can’t eat properly as I no longer have any appetite for just about anything, as a matter of fact. And then, to make things worse, in the middle of a pile of workload, my phone vibrates with news from WolfByte, where a headline reads back at me with flair.BREAKING NEWS! Former Luna Lillians of Moonstone Packs move in with Alpha Cragi! The Ex-wife of Alpha Keegan rebuilds her life with his uncle?!There is even a photo attached that makes my blood boil. But it’s nothing new anyway. For goddess sake, Lillian gets on Uncle Craig’s damn car when she leaves our house and it isn’t in the news. What’s with the overly outdated news release? It’s all filled with speculation, and th

Lillian’s POVStanding in the middle of my small, cosy living room, being surrounded by laughter, food, and the occasional toast in my name, I feel a bit dazed as if I am watching someone else’s life.Thousands of emotions tags in my heart. Is this really mine now?I have friends, a new home, and a rising career.Everything is going well and moving in the right direction. And yet… It still weirdly feels like there is something missing. As if reminded of something, my hands subconsciously move to my stomach, where the emptiness still echoes within me like a scar carved into my soul. My pup…My hands tightening on the glass of beer I am holding, I think silently while my eyes dart to the window. “Where are you now, Mom? What have you really done? Why did you do it in the first place?”Despite the loud chattering and cheering around me, the unanswered questions keep repeating in my mind like a broken record, blurring out some of their words.I am still drowning in my own thoughts when a

Keegan’s POV“Keegan, wait–”It’s Sienna. She’s calling out to me, but I continue climbing the stairs like I don’t hear anything, and continue walking inside. My boots echo down my office, each step heavier than the last. The weight of everything hangs over my chest. Lillian’s broken voice and the truth behind the death of our pup bring turmoil within me, threatening to crush every piece of me as the guilt claws at my chest.I cross my office and shift my chair to stare outside through the window, but I end up staring into the dim space, unsure of what I am even looking at in the first place.Peace? A distraction? No… Maybe silence. Silence that Sienna can’t even let me have as she enters the office right after me, carefully closing the door behind her.I can feel her presence and hear her footsteps, but I keep my back to her and act like she doesn’t exist.“I know this is hard,” she says softly, stepping closer from behind me, her shadow looming over.I feel her hand putting weight

Keegan’s POV“Fine!” she hisses and steps forward, pushing me back. “You want to know the truth? I’ll give it to you.”Pointing to another direction with an outstretched arm, she keeps her blazing eyes on me as she utters with disdain, “That bitch’s mother who is a mere omega came to me and confessed! Do you know your ex’s origin? I am merely saving you!”My brow furrow. “Everyone knows she’s an Omega, Mom. It’s nothing new.”A scoff escapes her lips. “Huh! She’s worse than an omega! No! She’s even worse than trash! Her bloodline is a disgrace! Her origin will only taint our family and pack’s name! Much more, it will taint you, Keegan!”I look at her in disbelief after hearing all the ridiculous words that keep coming out of her mouth. “Taint me?”“She said Lillian’s father is a man of low standing. A disgrace. For all we know, he can be a servant, a rogue, or worse, an exile! Lillian, herself, isn’t even worthy to be Luna, much less her child!”Her chest is moving fast from her heavy

  • Divorcing The Alpha: Now He Won't Let Me Go   Chapter 61

Keegan’s POVI watch with an aching heart as Lillian slips out of my grasp and out of my sight. I don’t know how long I have been standing at the porch of that old house, just staring at the empty dirt road of this outskirt, where she turns her back on me again and walks away. The sky is dark, and so are my surroundings, but things never feel so clear as today.I owe Lillian so much more than I think I do.After a few hours, I lost count. I start to walk back to my pack in a slow manner, as I feel like my legs are made of steel from how heavy it is. Or maybe it’s the heaviness that’s gripping my heart, being reflected in it.My hand holds the knob of the house where I used to live with Lillian, feeling its coldness through my palms. Is this how cold she feels when she’s all alone here?As I push the door open, the echo of Lillian’s voice keeps ringing in my head. The look in her eyes, the trembling of her shoulders, the tears on her cheeks… It all burns into my memory, that clenches m
