ログイン(Aliana’s POV)
I clutched the jacket tighter around myself as I walked toward the parking lot, refusing to let what had just happened break me. No. This was not the time to cry over something I had already grown used to. My steps were unsteady in my heels, and my breath shook in the cold night air, but I kept moving. I just needed to get home. At least I could change out of this wet dress before I caught a cold. But when I reached the parking lot, reality hit me. I hadn’t come with my car. For a moment, I had forgotten that my driver had called in sick earlier that day, and I had taken a cab here instead. “This seriously can’t be happening…” I muttered under my breath. I quickly pulled out my phone and called Delvin. I didn’t even know what I was expecting. Maybe he hadn’t driven far yet. Maybe, just maybe, he would turn back and give me a ride home. It was always difficult to find a cab in this quiet, remote part of the campus, and at this hour, the chances were even slimmer. His phone rang, but no answer. I called again. Still nothing. My chest tightened painfully. What had I expected? That he would care enough to answer while he was busy taking care of his precious Belicia? The pain settled deep inside me, but I refused to let it show. I forced myself to stay calm and tried to book a ride. Just as I feared, none were available. I refreshed the app and tried again, but it was still the same. I stood near the gate, hoping an empty taxi would pass by, even though I knew the chances were very low. Cars drove past me without stopping. Some people gave me pitying looks. Others stared with quiet mockery, as if I was an unwanted child left behind. Just then, a car stopped in front of me. The window slowly rolled down, and I finally saw who was sitting inside. A man, probably in his early thirties. I had never seen him around the university before. Maybe he was a guest at the event. “It seems you need a ride,” he said calmly. “Hop in. I can drop you off.” I swallowed hard. Even though I needed the ride, I couldn’t just get into a stranger’s car. “It’s really fine. I can just get a cab. You don’t have to worry,” I said politely, declining. “How so? Haven’t you been standing here for a while? There’s clearly no cab around,” he said, glancing around the empty street. He knew I had been standing here? Had he been watching me from somewhere? Was he mocking me like the others? But if he found my situation amusing, why would he offer to help? “It’s not safe standing out here alone. Besides, you look like you’re freezing. You could catch a cold,” he insisted. I couldn’t deny that he was right. It wasn’t safe to walk down the street alone, trying to find a cab. But… still… “It’s just a ride. You don’t have to worry about anything else,” he added, giving me a small grin, almost as if he could read my thoughts. I hesitated for a moment, my fingers tightening around the jacket. No taxi was coming, and I had no idea how long it would take for one to come by. It was just a ride. Nothing more. I took a deep breath and nodded gently, agreeing. The moment I got in and fastened my seatbelt, the car pulled away. The ride was quiet and tense. Neither of us spoke. He didn’t ask any questions, except where I lived. Minutes later, we arrived at my gate. I unclasped my seatbelt and turned to thank him. “Thank you so much for the ride,” I said, offering a warm, polite smile. “It’s really nothing. I’m glad I could help,” he replied. I stepped out and waved at him until he pulled away. I had barely set foot inside the compound when a voice thundered, his steps quick and heavy as he approached me. “Who the hell was that!!” Delvin demanded, his voice cold and loud, shaking the entire area. I flinched, completely startled by his sudden outburst. My heart jumped as I blinked again and again, shocked to see him standing there. He stared at the car as it disappeared toward the end of the street, his jaw clenched, his face dark with fury. Then he turned back to me, his eyes sharp. “I asked, who the hell was that?” “I… I don’t know… he just…” I started, trying to explain, though I didn’t understand why he was acting like this. But Delvin didn’t let me finish. “What do you mean you don’t know him? You just got out of his car!” he spat through gritted teeth, his face darkening even more. But I wasn’t lying. I didn’t know the man. I hadn’t even asked him his name. “So this is what you’ve been doing, Aliana?” he hissed. “You’ve been cheating on me, haven’t you?” "What? No..." I forced out, my throat dry. “Stop pretending, Aliana!” he barked, grabbing my wrists. My breath caught as I tried to pull my hands free. “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about." “Liar!!” he shouted, as if the thought of me lying personally offended him. “You lie all the time!” He tightened his grip on my wrists, and I could almost feel his nails digging into my skin. I whimpered in pain, tears welling up in my eyes. “Your hands… you’re hurting me, Delvin,” I whispered weakly. He ignored me, as usual. "Answer me!!" he thundered, his voice loud enough to shake the walls like an earthquake. “I don’t know that man, Delvin! He only gave me a ride home!” I cried, my voice shaking. I was truly confused. Did he think I was cheating? I had no other man in my life. I never had one. He was my first and the only man I had ever been with. But Delvin didn’t listen. He never did. He tightened his grip even more and began dragging me like a criminal toward the house. With every step, sharp pain shot through my injured ankle.(Aliana’s POV) “Your physiotherapy is scheduled every Wednesday. Make sure you attend every session and take it seriously, because it is essential for your full recovery,” I said quietly, raising my head slightly to look at the man I was speaking to. Delvin sat calmly, one hand holding his jaw, staring at me and smiling sheepishly as if there was something amusing in what I was saying. He looked distracted, completely lost in whatever imagination he had drifted into. I sighed and partly closed the folder in my hand. “Are you even listening?” I asked. Delvin blinked, trying to refocus. He obviously hadn’t heard a single thing I just said, but he still went ahead and nodded. “Yeah. Totally,” he lied, clearing his throat and straightening his posture. “Really?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “Then what was the last thing I said?” He swallowed, looking like he was trying hard to remember. Then finally… “You… said I should never skip meals and take my medication on time…”
(Fabian's POV)“Please, my dear, forgive me. I was wrong…” Mrs. Barrington continued as she tried to hold her hand again.I already suspected the apology had been forced on her by her son. But she was doing too much.Aliana was clearly uncomfortable with Mrs. Barrington touching her.I sighed, walked over, and gently took Aliana’s hand. She flinched, startled by the sudden touch, but relaxed when she saw it was me.“That’s enough,” I said to Mrs. Barrington, my voice calm but tight. She let out a sigh of relief, as if she had just been released from a heavy burden.“Great, now drop the charges, will you?” she said flatly. “I don’t even understand why my son agreed to this in the first place.”I raised an eyebrow at her. Couldn’t she at least pretend to be remorseful? At least for the cameras. But as I watched her, I realized something. She wasn’t like that girl, Belicia. She wasn’t manipulative.“Let’s go,” I said quietly to Aliana.Aliana followed me as we walked out of the lobby.E
(Fabian’s POV)“What is keeping Dr. Hale? She usually doesn’t keep us waiting like this,” the speaker said.He was the man in charge of the internal competition between Aliana and Steve. We had all gathered to officially declare the winner of the first round and announce when and how the next round would take place.Everyone was here except Aliana. I wondered why she had not arrived yet.“I’ve been sitting here for the past thirty minutes, waiting for who exactly?” Steve said with a sigh, irritation clear in his voice.“Do you think I have nothing else to do with my time?” he added sharply. “If you don’t start talking now, believe me, she won’t be the only person you’ll be waiting for.”I pulled out my phone to call her, but she wasn’t answering.“I’m sorry, Director Fabian, but I think we have to start without her,” the speaker said.I sighed, looked at the door one more time, then gave a slow nod.The meeting began immediately. And just as expected, Aliana was declared the winner of
(Caren's POV)He groaned as my hand slid into his briefs. I swallowed hard... not bad at all. He didn't just have the face; he had the equipment to match. No wonder he was a playboy. No wonder women fought over him. I smirked, my mouth watering at the thought that I’d finally found a man big enough to pound me tonight.I gently removed his briefs and pushed him back onto the bed."Oh, you're wild..." he groaned.I didn't take it as a compliment. I wasn't doing this for his benefit, I was doing it for mine.I joined him on the bed and lay on top of him, his arms winding around my back as our lips met. My hands wandered across his skin, and I moved down to kiss his neck before taking one of his nipples into my mouth. I knew we were both ready. In fact, I didn't even need his touch to be prepared. I was just about to switch positions so he could be on top and put on a condom, when he suddenly held me back."Ohhhh... Fuck..." Andrea groaned loudly, his entire body quivering.Within s
(Caren’s POV)“Goodnight, Dr. Brown,” the nurses at the reception said as I walked past them.I gave a tired nod and stormed out of the building. A warm smile spread across my face as I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath of the fresh evening air.And just like that, the dead part of me that usually flatlines the moment I step into this hospital… came back to life.Every single day, I questioned why I ever thought becoming a doctor was a good idea.No peace. No sleep. Just stress disguised in a white coat. Then come the endless shifts, patients shouting as if I personally caused their illness, and somehow I was the one who chose this life.Maybe I should just find a rich man, quit this suffering, and become a full-time housewife.Just wake up.Eat.Spend his money.Complain about the chef. Now that sounded like a much softer career.“Caren…” a voice called, snapping me out of my imagination.I let out a heavy sigh. God, when I asked for a rich man… I did not mean this one.I didn
(Delvin's POV)She stared at me for a while, as if trying to read through me, then slowly her lips curved into a small smile. She didn’t believe me. Of course she didn’t. I sighed and ran a rough hand through my hair, my desperation growing with every passing second.I never cheated on her with Belicia or anyone else. I respected my marriage with her, and I truly wished she could believe me."For many years, I had feelings for Belicia… all because she saved my life," I said in a low, desperate tone. "But after I married you, everything changed."Aliana stopped laughing instantly. Her faint smile slowly faded as she looked at me."I already loved you even before Belicia returned, Aliana," I said, finally letting out what I had kept buried inside me.Her lips parted slightly and her eye twitched. She looked not just surprised, but deeply shocked."I didn’t realize it at first," I continued. "I was cold, and distant… because I was trying to fight something I didn’t understand.""And that
(Aliana's POV)*Knock knock.*A soft knock jolted me awake. I forced my eyes open even though they still felt heavy with sleep. My head hurt and my back ached. I hadn’t had any proper rest, not after the surgery that lasted for hours, and not after the panic that rose in my chest when we faced comp
(Aliana's POV)The rest of the day passed like smoke, and soon I was finally ready to go home. Tomorrow my real shift would begin. The HR manager had asked when I wanted to start, and I said immediately. Because why not? Maybe working was all the healing I needed.I walked toward the exit, and I co
(Aliana's POV)...... ONE YEAR LATER....The sound of the ambulance siren pierced the air, followed by the emergency team running toward it with fast, urgent steps.Someone was having an emergency.“Move out of the way!” someone shouted, his voice tight and urgent.“Out of the way now!” another voi
(Delvin's POV) Three days later. I stared at the jewellery box in my hand. Inside it was a limited-edition necklace from a top luxury brand. I bought it yesterday from one of the most popular stores. It was meant to be Aliana's graduation gift. I didn’t get her anything on the actual day. I had
