Meeting his sweet handsome son

Sofia's POV

With eyes as wide as saucers, I took in the room that I had been given. It was nothing like the one I had in Allesandro's house, this one was bigger and wider and the view was beautiful.

Painted green with a huge princess bed neatly made in the middle, I couldn't stop thinking of how lucky I was.

When I had been pulled away from the dungeon, nothing had prepared me for this beautiful room that I had been given. Instead, the numerous thoughts running through my head at that moment had caused a cold chill down my spine.

Salvatore didn't seem to be a ruthless guy, contrary to the image that he was known all over the city, I could tell he was different, my fingers strayed unconsciously to my lips.

The same lips that I had placed gently on his and his stunned reaction had blown me away. Somehow, I knew that I would want to do the same thing if he was close again.

Flicking my head to the side, I tried to get rid of the thought in my head but it seemed to be stuck in there. I ran toward the balcony, pulling the door open and inhaling sharply when the cold wind hit me, calming down my wrecking nerves.

The large expanse of land which was neatly trimmed and flowers laid by its side caught my attention. This was different from Allesandro's Mansion and it was just like a walk away from hell.

I didn't know how long I was going to be here, but I was hoping I wouldn't leave yet. For starters, I was ready to do whatever it takes not to go back to my husband, that monster who didn't deserve me in his life.

Shutting the door to the balcony, I sauntered toward the door which was closed, stepping into a walk-in closet, I shook my head, refusing to believe that all of this was mine.

There was no way It would be. There was no way Salvatore, the same man who was ruthless and rumored to have the whole city in his hands, would have done this for me.

"Probably someone else who had the same body shape as me stayed in here" I tried to convince myself, but that same pang of pain shot through me, was that jealousy?

"That couldn't be '' I bemoaned, footsteps, tiny ones then heavy ones echoed in the hallway. Call it instinct but it was something that I had somehow learned in Allesandro's house, to listen to footsteps.

Running toward the door, I placed my hands on its knob, before staring at the cause of the ruckus.

"You have to go back now" I squinted my eyes wondering what a little child who was so charming would have done to warrant being talked to in such a manner. He looked so cute.

I was deep in thought, fixing my gaze at the scene before me when I felt a tiny hand wrap itself around me. Blinking severally, I was forced to step in, walking toward the guard with my hands wrapped gently around his tiny wrist.

Kneeling gently, I caressed his cheek, a smile on my face when he beamed at me.

"What is your name?" I stared into his orbs that seemed to glisten when they came in contact with the light, fiddling with his hands still, he answered,

"Enzo"

"Enzo…?" I repeated, wanting to know why it sounded so familiar. He nodded his head,

"Who is your father?" I continued, with how he was closely guarded, I could tell he wasn't little and that his father must be someone who was famous.

"What is happening here?" A sharp voice tore through the air, I watched as he shoved the guards who surrounded us aside, a frown cascading his face.

"What are you doing here?" His gaze bore hatred and I could feel it, that hate in his speech directed toward me. I opened my mouth trying to utter the words out of them but I couldn't. None came out of it.

Watching him pull Enzo who was standing close to me to himself, I squinted my eyes at him.

"Who do you think you are? And why exactly are you not in the dungeon?" He threw his questions at me. I waited for him to say something else but none was coming forth.

"You aren't deaf, are you?" His eyes were fixated on me.

I exhaled sharply, before taking a look at him. The look on the little boy's face evoked pity in me but I knew I couldn't do anything.

"You should learn to know your place" he took steps toward me before whispering into my ear. I stood still, my heart beating fast against my rib cage.

What have I done? I wondered as I racked my brain trying to come up with an answer but there was none.

" Eduardo, let me go,"

He glared at the little boy who I had come to know as Enzo, shutting him up.

"Your father demands your presence and you are going to leave with me at once" he answered.

Father? Who exactly were they talking about?

"But….'' Little Enzo wasn't going to give up without a fight, I took a step backward, not wanting to interfere. I could tell that I wasn't needed and I was wise enough to step back when it was obvious.

Glaring daggers at me, he yanked up Enzo on his shoulder,

"You haven't answered my question yet on what I asked you, what exactly are you doing here? And how did you get out of the dungeon?"

" Don't tell me…" his eyes darkened, before he shook his head as though dissuading the thought that it wasn't possible out of his head.

"I think Salvatore would be the best person to answer that"

I watched as he walked away, with Enzo still protesting on his shoulders. Saying that he would ask Salvatore, does it mean I might be going back to the dungeon? Again?
