Chapter 3

Sasha said in a choked voice, "It's a good thing that Nessa died. At least she won't get angry because of you two. With the way you've treated her, it's no wonder that she wasn't even willing to let you have her ashes after death!"

My father stared at the phone, looking stunned. His face had completely drained of color.

He said hoarsely, "Vanessa's death has nothing to do with Zoe. Why are you doing this at Zoe's wedding? Don't you know that she has depression and can't get agitated? Vanessa just won't let me have an easy time of it, even when she's dead! She can't compare with Zoe at all!"

There was a thump as the bouquet that Cameron was holding fell to the floor. He did not bother to pick it up.

He was staring straight at Sasha's phone screen, and he had to grip onto the table to keep himself from falling.

However, he gathered himself and said, "We'll talk about Nessa's funeral later. We can't trigger Zoe as well now that Vanessa's gone. Zoe shouldn't have to bear the consequen
