Gerald did not understand what Richard meant by ‘He would be there to take over every opportunity he gives up on’ he thought it was a mere speech so, he didn’t think too deeply about it.

With his uncle refusing to invest in his movies, Gerald walked out of his office and almost ran into Isabella. Both of them held each other’s gazes for almost a minute before Gerald broke the silence.

“Who knew that this would be the only way to see my wife of five years after she ran away from our home,” he said without a care in the world.

He didn’t even think twice before making that kind of statement in a workspace. He was pinned on getting a reaction out of Isabella unfortunately, she wasn’t in for it.

“Are you and my boss related?” she asked, still maintaining eye contact with him. It was obvious the things that were most important to her. His taunting right now could not be compared with the truth she wanted to hear.
