LOGINThe diamond ring should have been in her handbag. Alena kept her favorite ring neatly in the bag she always carried, but now it was somehow in Kylie's hand.
"You're deaf, aren't you? Kylie told me that if she's Mr. Wilson's granddaughter, she must have the ring." Anna replied sharply.
This brought a broad smile to Kylie's lips.
"No! That's my ring. How did you get it? You must have stolen it! Give it back to me now!" Alena tried to grab the ring out of Kylie's hand.
"Jason, help!" Kylie screamed in panic, trying to move the ring out of Alena's reach.
"Alena! Have you lost your mind? Get your hands off Kylie!" Jason pushed Alena violently to the ground.
The impact was quite hard. It startled Alena and made her stomach hurt instantly.
"Kylie, are you okay? That bitch doesn't know herself!" Anna checked on Kylie.
Meanwhile, Jason glared at Alena, not caring that she was clutching her stomach in pain.
"I'm divorcing you today! My lawyer will take care of our divorce right away," Jason said.
Suddenly Alena felt dizzy.
Looking down at her thigh, Alena was surprised to see fresh blood running down it.
Jason was just as surprised. For a moment, the man looked stunned.
"Jason... my stomach hurts. Please, I'm pregnant with our child..."
***
In the hospital.
Alena blinked her eyes slowly.
When she came to, she looked around. It turned out that Alena was lying in a hospital bed.
"Jason!" she called to Jason, who had just entered the ward.
The man's face was cold. There wasn't the slightest sign of worry on his face.
"How is our baby?" Alena asked anxiously.
Handing Alena a document, Jason replied nonchalantly. "Your baby didn't survive. Now sign this quickly. I want a divorce right now!"
Already dead?
Alena's chest was crushed. It felt like a dry twig breaking.
Alena couldn't describe how devastated she felt.
Alena stared at Jason speechlessly. The man she thought was so sincere was now breaking her heart.
"Why the silence? Hurry up and sign! Don't make it hard for me to marry Kylie!"
"You have the heart to do this to me. After sacrificing so much of my life for you and your mother."
"Not so much drama! I don't love you anymore, okay? I don't want to live with anyone but Kylie!"
With trembling hands, Alena grabbed a pen and signed the divorce papers.
Jason smiled with satisfaction, closed the document, and thanked her.
There was not the slightest hint of sadness on Jason's face after losing his baby.
"Oh yes, Mom and I have packed all your clothes in a suitcase. When you've recovered enough, you can pay your hospital bills and go wherever you want. You can't stay at my house anymore."
Alena was stunned. "You and your mother should have left! The house is mine. I bought it with the money I saved from selling bread, in case you forgot!"
"Property bought during marriage is joint property. That means the house is mine too. You've been eating out of my salary for the past three years, right? So think of this as paying for all the money you've ever eaten from me."
"So, this is your true nature? I thought you were the most honest man, Jason."
"You're too naive, Alena. What man would love a boring, bread-selling woman like you?" Jason laughed.
Alena did her best not to show Jason her sadness. She had just had a miscarriage. She was too physically weak to fight this man.
"Okay, just take my house! We're divorced now. I'm out of your life. But remember one thing... if one day you beg me to come back to you, I won't even let you cry blood and kneel at my feet," Alena said with a clenched jaw.
"Ask you back?" repeated Jason, then smiled mockingly. "That's impossible," he continued and turned to leave Alena.
All Alena could do at the moment was cry.
Her hand felt in her belly, where there was no longer a growing fetus.
"I'm sorry, my child. I can't protect you from the hands of these bad people," Alena sobbed.
In the afternoon, Alena went straight home from the hospital.
But she had no money to pay the hospital bill.
"I'm sorry, Miss. You must pay the bill before you leave."
"How much is the bill?"
"Six thousand dollars."
Alena wrung her hands in confusion.
Where did she get the money?
Alena had checked her purse in the suitcase. There should have been about ten thousand dollars in it. But it was gone. Jason or Anna must have taken it.
"Let me pay the hospital bill," said someone who suddenly approached the administration with a black card.
Alena turned and recognized the woman's voice.
She was surprised to see the face of a woman five years her senior.
"Victoria? You?" Alena squealed in surprise. Her eyes widened.
Alena still remembered who the woman in front of her was. It was Victoria, her grandfather's assistant.
"Hello, Miss Wilson. I finally found you. I've been searching for you for five years. Mr. Wilson is very ill. He misses you very much. Will you come to the house?" Victoria asked with a friendly smile as she bowed her head in front of Alena.
Mr. Jake Wilson?
The 75-year-old man was her biological grandfather.
Yes! Alena is Jake Wilson's granddaughter and heiress of a conglomerate family.
Five years ago, on the day Alena was to be engaged to one son of the Scott family, the number one richest family in America, Alena ran away from her engagement to marry Jason.
Even before Alena saw what the man she was getting engaged to be looked like.
Alena didn't care. Her blind love made her leave all her wealth behind, choose a simple life and disguise herself as an ordinary woman selling bread on the outskirts of the city.
Alena thought Jason was the most honest man in the world. But today he betrayed her after she sacrificed so much for him.
Now Alena heard the news that her grandfather was looking for her. To be honest, Alena really misses her grandfather. But remembering the foolishness she had done five years ago, Alena felt ashamed to face her grandfather again.
"Victoria, do you think Grandpa will forgive me? I embarrassed him by running away on the day of my engagement."
"No, your grandfather will forgive you. He himself asked me to look for you all these years. He misses you very much. Don't you miss him too?"
Alena smiled a little. Her eyes were teary.
Of course, she missed her grandfather, who had taken care of her since she was a child after her parents died in an accident.
"Okay. I'm going home!"
A wide smile spread across Victoria's face. She immediately ordered the driver to come and bring Alena's suitcase.
For the first time in five years of simple living, Alena could finally sit in a luxury car and be chauffeured by the Wilson family.
"Sorry, Miss Wilson. It looks like you have a hard life out there." Victoria engaged Alena in conversation as the car sped through the city streets.
"You're right. I just lost my future son."
Victoria looked surprised. "I'm sorry about that."
"Thank you."
"And your husband? Where is he? Why isn't he with you in the hospital?"
"We are divorced. He divorced me and chose to be with his mistress after I sacrificed a lot for him."
"Miss." Victoria was taken aback. Her hand rubbed Alena's back. "That man has no right to hurt you like that. Should I send a bodyguard to teach him a lesson?"
Alena shook her head. "No need," she refused and turned to Victoria. "I have my way of avenging his betrayal," Alena continued, her eyes flashing a plan.
Yes! Alena thought she had come up with an idea to get back at her husband.
"Jason, you made me lose my baby. You and your mistress will never live in peace until you pay for what you've done," Alena said to herself.
The once stupid Alena is dead! Now there was only Alena Wilson!
“Yes, Mr. Darren.” The security guard then dragged Jason out of the CEO's office.Once they were gone, Darren pulled Alena into his arms and held her tightly. He was sure Alena must be traumatized by Jason, who had hurt her in the past. Therefore, Darren tried to calm Alena down while gently stroking his girlfriend's hair. However, Darren's brow furrowed when he realized that Alena was standing restlessly, sweating. Her eyes stared at Darren while she occasionally swallowed hard. Her lips trembled as if she was holding something back.“Alena, what's wrong?” Darren asked frantically.“What did that bastard do to you?” Darren cupped Alena's cheeks with both hands. He asked seriously.“He injected me with a stimulant. Help me, Darren. My body is burning up. I can't take it anymore. I can't hold on,&r
Alena shook her head, then said firmly. “I'd rather die than give my body to a jerk like you,” she hissed.Alena then sneered and spat in Jason's face.Jason felt his pride hurt, his face immediately turning red.He grabbed Alena's jaw tightly.“Don't be arrogant, Alena! Right now, you can insult me and reject me, but a few moments after the drug takes effect, you will kneel before me, begging me to touch your body.”Alena tried to free her jaw from Jason's grip. But Jason roughly pushed Alena to the floor, causing her back to hurt as it hit the hard tiles.“Help! Help me! There's an intruder in my room,” Alena screamed as Jason roughly pulled her to the other corner of the room.“No one will hear your screams, you stupid woman. I've locked your secretary in the bathroom.&rdqu
Gavin sighed irritably, clenching his fists at his sides. “It seems like he deliberately wanted to provoke us, Adrian!”“Are you guys feeling hot?” asked Taylor, raising his eyebrows. “If you need to cool off, there are cold drinks over there!” Leuwis pointed to one of the tables set up specifically for cold drinks.Gavin and Adrian just frowned. They knew Taylor was just teasing.Apparently, Darren and Alena's kiss at their engagement party had caused a stir on social media and in the mass media. It suddenly went viral and shocked many people. So it was a day of heartbreak for Darren's admirers. It went so viral that even Jason and Anna watched the engagement ceremony.“How many times did Mom tell you to take more drastic measures so you could get back together with Alena? But you always thought everything was easy.
“No need, Grandpa. I can handle my work. I just need time to get married.”Although somewhat disappointed, Jake nodded resignedly. They were all about to leave when Alena suddenly said she wanted to meet with Helen for a moment.Jake, of course, forbade it, as did Darren and his two brothers. But Alena insisted and convinced them. Eventually, they gave in.“Let me accompany Alena,” said Darren, putting his arm around Alena. After that, Darren took Alena to the prison where Helen was being held.At Alena's request, Darren did not accompany her to the visiting room. Alena sat alone in the visiting room. Shortly thereafter, Helen arrived with her hands cuffed and escorted by a police officer. Her face was grim as she sat down in front of Alena.“You're happy, aren't you? Finally, I'm going to be sentenced
Alena's body tensed, while Darren stared at them with a sharp gaze.Holding her head, Alena shook it. “Whatever. You two do as you please. I think, now I think I’m the one going crazy watching your argument.”Alena walked away. But she paused and said to Darren. “After you two finish arguing, please, Darren, take me home later. I want to see my grandfather.”“Okay, Alena.” Darren replied with a gentle smile.Alena entered the room, leaving Adrian and Gavin with sullen faces, unable to hide their annoyance.“Why are you guys angry? Alena and I did it because we both wanted to. In just a few days, we'll be engaged, and we'll get married as soon as possible,” Darren said calmly. His two younger brothers clenched their fists and ignored Darren's words. They were about to punch Darren in the face, but Darren qu
But Alena, who had already been swept away by Darren's gentle treatment and attention, now ignored the pain. She stood on tiptoe to kiss Darren on the lips. What man could resist in that position? So, growling softly, Darren held Alena's head and deepened their kiss.Alena let Darren's lips explore hers and his fingers caress her gently. The T-shirt and boxer shorts that Alena had been wearing were now lying on the floor alongside Darren's clothes. They enjoyed a hot night together. Darren tried to be as gentle as possible so as not to hurt Alena. For the second time, they finally spent a night together.***“Tom, which hospital did you take Darren and Alena to last night? Gavin and I tried visiting several hospitals near where Alena was being held captive. But we couldn't find them.” Adrian immediately approached Darren's driver and asked
