I made a vow.

Vows are more that promises. They have greater potency that the words of mere promises.

I vowed never to turn a human or to feed from a human the day I made that dreadful mistake. What mistake?

I killed the man I loved. I fed from him and drained every pint of blood he had in him. So I made my vow. I, Kayla, will never feed. I'll die from thirst and hunger before I ever feed. And because I was turned to a vampire against my will, I will never turn a human to the monster I have now become.

I long for my humanity but I know I can never get it back. So I vowed. I will protect humans from monsters like myself. From anything non - human.

And today, I will break that vow for the man I love.
