LOGINDELANO
The lights stopped moving, permanently resting on us as one of my arm grabbed the witch's body tightly by her waist. Fvcking demon. There were sounds of little gasps of shock, but nothing more than that. It seemed to me that everyone was too shocked that in a party inviting empires, which was created to build trust, trust was being broken. An assassination of me of all people on my father's property? Her eyes breathed out fire, lying with an hint of deception under it. Her cheek reddened under the bright lights, a beautiful mixture with the golden mask she was putting on. Her red lips curved up in a smirk as she celebrated her big win inside her head. She knew who I was. I knew who she was too. Was her name really Winter or was that the alias name for Saint D'Angelo's daughter, Ariel D'Angelo? "Push it in, Kitten. You haven't stabbed me deep yet." I smirked. Her eyes fell to the knife and flickered up back to me in shock. Blood trickled down the floor and pain shot through my left hand. I was holding the knife too tight, but I had to do it to save my life. "Fvcker!" She pulled it off recklessly, further slicing my palm open. Shit. "Just die," She rushed towards me again with the motive of ending my life, but I swiftly dogded her attack, swinging to the side. She was precise with her attack. Swinging her knife towards my neck or towards my chest. It looked like she had a goal to kill me and get something and I was badly making her fail at this. With the next defense, I was getting pissed off. I left the spot she was coming to and she crashed on the nearby table where the cake was placed on. The table broke into two and the cake went down with a swish. I kicked her by the back and she fell face down into the cake. I stretched my hand backwards and caught the handcuff which someone threw to me. Grabbing her hands, I cuffed them together and drew her up with it. "Leave me," She coughed out the bit of a cake that got into her mouth, "alone." I smirked slightly, staring at her in amusement as I took a chair and forced her to sit on it. Icing covered her beautiful face, including her mask and bits of cakes were held up by her lashes. Her chest heaved up and down heavily with the intense attack she gave to me. Gladly, I didn't attack but defended throughout, except for the small kick I gave her at her back. She looked at me with anger in her eyes like I was the reason for her failed assassination. Sadly, I was just trying to protect myself from the grasps of death which came in the form of her. "An assassination in my party?" My father's sharp voice accompanied by the sound of his walking stick was heard as he made his way towards us. He glanced at me, his eyes a grim disapproval at the blood dripping from my white shirt. She'd actually stabbed me a little bit and cut my palm too. Interesting. The lady deserved more credit than she would get from her father. "Remove the mask!" He ordered. I knew D'Leonardo knew she was Ariel, but he wasn't going to go down without a bargain. Nothing would be done to the girl by our family but her family would have to risk everything to get her back. Exposing her face would do the trick. I turned, to look at her. I also wanted to see the face behind the mask and behind the rumors of a black witch who was the avatar of D'Angelo's Empire. Gasps! My smirk widened into a small smile. Fvcking b*tch. She glared at me with pure hatred and I looked at her with the same energy. Beautiful. Sincerely beautiful. Something that looked like mine. I didn't want to dwell on the fact that I was checking on her out, but I knew she found out that already. She opened her mouth in curses and my smile deepened, watching her beautiful mouth. I think I need to see Ariel's mother, cos she looked nothing like her father. "Ariel?" D'Leonardo scoffed lightly and I looked up, knowing this was the time for Saint D'Angelo to come downstairs and clear the air. His daughter has failed brutally in her mission, I'm sure he would be both angry, disappointed and embarrassed right now. He shouldn't have given her the mission in the first place. He should have known that I don't trust women. "Saint. What exactly is going on?" D'Leonardo asked the man the moment he came downstairs. Ariel's head fell lightly, her eyes dimming. In a world like this, you could be sacrificed for your empire. I heard some people murmur about how a woman who was supposed to be pleasing men take up an important job like this. My jaw ticked lightly. I felt like hitting the owner of that voice that he'd never...ever use that mouth to make a single sound again. Probably just to please his own women in ways he sees fit. "Release her, Leonard and we'll talk about this." "There is nothing to talk about! Your daughter caused a ruckus in my party..." Ruckus. He wasn't bothered about the fact that I just got almost stabbed right in my heart. It wasn't the first time, I'd stopped paying attention to that. "You tried to assassinate him. Why?" "These things happen in business." Saint pulled off his mask, it probably looked childish to him. It looked to me too, but I didn't want a lot of people to recognize me wherever, so it was safer this way. "What business does Delano have with you, Saint? Why'd you try to kill him!? We work in such a way that we do not step on your territory. I thought we were on...." He paused looking for the right words, "safe....terms." Safe was definitely not the best option. Something better could work. "What do you want in exchange, D'Leonardo?" I smirked lightly. Sorry couldn't cut it, excuses can never make up. What works... Is bargain and deals. Business in Mafians was made like this.ARIELSome people really act differently from how they looked…or from the stories heard about them. And an example of people like this…is Delano.“What are we doing here?” I asked, my eyes darting towards him.He shrugged casually, passing me an ice cream cone he’d just gotten from the seller, at an amusement park.“I assumed you must have come here a lot since you take care of the children in your father’s house.”“Why would you mention them?” I asked, my eyes narrowing. The children…were a sensitive topic and I would prefer to stay clear of them if we were having a discussion. Everything could be spoken about..except the children.“Don’t tell me you have a bad memory with the amusement park?” His brows shifted. “If you do, we could leave. I don’t mind.”It wasn't a mockery. Just…pure concern. I could see them in his eyes.I blinked, looking away as my tongue went down the ice cream. I needed all the sugar I could get right now.“Winter?”“What do you take me for? It’s just an amuse
ARIELI push Delano away like he burnt me. So hard, he had to catch himself before he could crash into the cushion chair.Gritting my teeth, I said, “You must be out of your mind!”“What?” Delano shrugged, rubbing his fingers underneath his chin as he studied me calmly, without a flinch of fear or remorse in his eyes. Was I the only one feeling flustered by the things he had said?Realizing that, I stepped backwards slightly, feeling too aware of how the hairs on my skin rose up. His head cocked slightly, he was definitely enjoying this.“We are married. It’s such a pain we haven’t had our wedding night yet.”“Don’t speak of such nonsense with me. This marriage is strictly business.” I snapped and walked out of him, rushing up the stairs to my room. The moment the door closed behind me, my purse fell from my shaking hands. I hated this moment. And the fact that his words got to me. I hated it all.By the way…why were we the only ones living in this house?****“I want a maid.” I said,
ARIEL"Ariel. So," D'Leonardo cut the steak on his plate with precised measurement and concentration, you could tell he tortured people in this manner. His eyes moved up to me, "now that you are married to Delano, you can tell us why you tried to kill him at the party, can't you?"Everyone stared at me. His cousins and their parents, Colt and my father, even Delano. He has an expectant look on his face, like he wanted to see what I would use to cover up–but I wasn't stupid. Anyone could tell that D'Leonardo already knows the truth."He did business on my father's port, which is totally unacceptable," I said fiercely and I could see one of his cousins raised his eyes up, a smirk on his lips. I didn't care much about him. He seemed too stupid for me to bother. My age, maybe."Is?" D'Leonardo arched a brow, "Do you mean it's still inappropriate for him to do business there? I mean, you are married."I smiled skillfully, "Business should be separated from family. If Delano wish
ARIELI smiled with no lesser pretension than what D'Caprico threw to me. My smile was graceful and perfect like what I have been trained to be. However, I knew I could never fit into the perfect mafia family. Girls were meant to be docile, quiet, obedient, I was not that type. I was not trained for marriage, I was trained for war. And they would never understand that. Glad, my father hadn't forced me to submission like other empires did, but even that was my choice."How are you doing?" "I'm fine," I replied sweetly, placing my hand on Delano's with nothing less than a sinful smile, "Delano has been treating me fairly okay. Just a day after marriage and I feel good."Delano let out a slight scoff of amusement and my fingers tightened on his shoulders in a warning mark. He'd better stop that sh*t right now."That's good, considering the fact that you wanted to kill him, just a week ago. I can say you guys really changed sides pretty fast. How does your fa
DELANOShe took her time coming down the stairs.Measured steps. Perfect posture. Eyes straight ahead, on me. Like she wanted me to see her, but not enough to beg for it. A performance, tailored and precise. And I had to admit, she played the part well. The dress was deep emerald green, the kind of shade that caught the light like water on dark glass. Expensive fabric. Cut high on the neck, low on the back, hugging her waist like it had been tailored by a man who wanted to die for her. Classy. Strategic. Not made to seduce, but to be remembered. And it worked. It clung to her curves in all the right ways, but left just enough to the imagination. She wore power like perfume, soft, but laced with poison. Her hair was swept up, just a few strands left loose to soften her jawline. A calculated mess. I recognized the move. Hide the blade in beauty.I didn’t move. Just watched. She was beautiful, yes. But beauty didn’t mean much in our world. I’d seen diamond
ARIELI let out all my frustration into the punching bag in front of me, hitting it hardly with all the strength I could summon.*I don't care what deal you have with Saint, but you would never be able kill me. Not now, definitely not later.*Was that a challenge? Not being able to kill him? I was going crazy in the head trying to show him that I could actually do that. Too bad he wouldn't be able to remember who killed him after his death, but I'd make sure he captured my face when I'm stabbing him with the knife.I hissed as I gave the punching bag a last blow and it shook under the impact. I held it to keep it steady and after it stopped moving widely, I stepped backwards.Idiot! Delano was an idiot! I released a deep breath as I removed the boxing pads and pulled my hair out of the high ponytail. Streaks of sweats went down my face and I wished that was my frustration leaking out from my skin pores. Reaching for the bottle of water on the beach,
