I looked at Anabel beside me in the car, she seemed so worn out. We had arranged to meet our friends at the club and have lunch there. She liked the club, whenever we went she would get excited and loved sitting by the pool watching the children play. I would see this and get my hopes up, maybe she would decide to have a child with me soon. I was rooting for it.

"Pretty girl, what's wrong?" I asked again. I was getting worried, she seemed a bit sulky, almost as if she were sick.

"I don't know. I think what I ate yesterday at the Social Club didn't sit well with me either. And then there was that unpleasantness with Joyce and Roxanne." She made a face like something was bothering her.

"You've been under a lot of stress, you even seem like you're getting sick. I'm worried, maybe we could ask Molina to stop by the house and take a look at you," I suggested.

"That's not necessary. If it's anything, it won't be more than a cold. I can handle it. And a little sun will do me good."
