Rick’s POVI stayed at the club until late afternoon with my friends. We were so caught up in conversation that we didn't even notice the time passing. But when Douglas texted me confirming he had just arrived home with Ana, I knew it was time to head home.I got home and only a few lights were on. I went straight to the bedroom and soon saw light coming from the bathroom. She must have been taking a shower, and I would join her. I walked over and paused for a moment to watch her. Her hair was wet and her eyes were closed, water running over her head washing the shampoo from her hair. I took off my clothes and stepped into the shower."Hi there, pretty girl!" I hugged her and she smiled."I missed you," she whispered to me."I missed you too. How was it with the girls?" I was kissing her shoulder."Good, but I'm tired." That was a shame, because I was feeling full of energy."Hmm! We could order pizza and watch an old movie," I suggested our favorite pastime and she smiled."The Sound
Anabel’s POVI looked at the three boxes in my hands and then at Melissa, feeling somewhat confused. The look she gave me back was one of those "come on, hurry up" looks, and quickly a line formed at the door of Catherine's powder room."Alright, let's organize this line." Melissa was in full "mission mode." "Cat, you're the hostess, you go first.""Let me go later, Mel, please, please." Manu clasped her hands together in plea."Oh, someone's anxious, Little Key!" Mel commented, and Manu smiled."My detective and I decided to give Lily a brother or sister." Manu seemed excited."And why didn't we know about this?" Mel stared at her."Because we agreed to just let it happen, and if it happens, it happens. Kind of no pressure, no demands, so I don't get anxious," Manu explained. I thought her relationship with Flavian was beautiful; the two of them were so sweet together!"Alright, you're second. Lexie, you go after Manu, Sam after you, then me, and finally, the group's newcomer, Anabel!
Ilana’s POVI had been locked in this hole for weeks and no one had come to visit me. But to be completely honest with myself, I shouldn't even have expected Irina to come; she wouldn't set foot in this place unless she was forced to. I was sitting talking with two women who also didn't get visitors. At least we could stay in the courtyard on visiting day, which was better than the cell. But then I saw my mother. I could hardly believe it and ran toward her."You came!" I stopped in front of her, waiting for a hug."Only because Lionel made me, dear. He's out there. The lawyer said he shouldn't visit you for now, because of all the lawsuits," she explained."Of course you only came because he made you." I felt disappointed. "So many weeks here and you still hadn't shown up. Obviously you only came because the old man forced you.""Look, Ilana, don't be dramatic! I'm here, that's what matters," she snapped back, impatient as always.I kept looking at her, thinking about how she stood ou
Irina’s POVI got out of the car under Lionel's watchful gaze, joined that enormous line stretching parallel to the prison wall, and thought I might actually faint. Passing out wouldn't be such a bad idea just to get out of there. I looked at all those people crowding together to enter that decrepit place and could hardly believe people actually visited this place. There were only four or five men, several children, and many women - older women, some elderly ladies, carrying huge bags. The line kept growing behind me, and it was so depressing I almost ran away."Oh honey, you won't be able to get in with those shoes," the elderly woman behind me spoke up, and I turned around."And why not?" I wanted to know."Because nothing metal gets in, and those shoes have metal inside. Who are you here to visit?" the woman asked me. I looked at her carefully - she seemed so poor and old that I felt sorry for her and ended up answering."My daughter," I said simply."Ah, children... we try, we teac
Anabel's POVRick wasn't the type of person who, when he wanted something, would keep bringing it up constantly, but lately he'd been dropping some hints, especially when we came to the club. I knew exactly what he wanted to ask, but I knew he didn't want to pressure me, so whenever the subject came up, I'd change the topic and play dumb or pretend not to understand. I felt bad because he'd got this dejected look on his face, but I had a purpose and wouldn't stray from it.After lunch, I sat down on a lounge chair in the shade. It was a hot day and I wanted to rest a bit."How's that project going, Ana?" Melissa sat down beside me and asked discreetly after Rick walked away."Taking longer than I thought," I complained."I think you're already under a lot of pressure, don't be so hard on yourself." Mel was right, there was too much going on."Do you think I chose the wrong time, Mel?" I was feeling somewhat insecure."Of course not! If you're sure this is what you want and that now is
Rick’s POVI looked at Anabel beside me in the car, she seemed so worn out. We had arranged to meet our friends at the club and have lunch there. She liked the club, whenever we went she would get excited and loved sitting by the pool watching the children play. I would see this and get my hopes up, maybe she would decide to have a child with me soon. I was rooting for it."Pretty girl, what's wrong?" I asked again. I was getting worried, she seemed a bit sulky, almost as if she were sick."I don't know. I think what I ate yesterday at the Social Club didn't sit well with me either. And then there was that unpleasantness with Joyce and Roxanne." She made a face like something was bothering her."You've been under a lot of stress, you even seem like you're getting sick. I'm worried, maybe we could ask Molina to stop by the house and take a look at you," I suggested."That's not necessary. If it's anything, it won't be more than a cold. I can handle it. And a little sun will do me good."
