We break through the surface, gasping for air. Before I can react or say anything else, the Lycan grips my arm and pulls me toward the shore. "You're worse than I thought," he shakes water off his hair. Then glancing over his shoulder, he adds, "haven't had your first kiss huh? How Intriguing." My cheeks warm up, and I look away, my teeth clattering from the cold that has been rooted in my bones. "I thought I'd die! People tend to say the weirdest things when they think they're dying." "I believe that applies to you only," he snorts, raking his wet hair. "So what do we do next? Where are we?" I ask, my eyes darting. "In my territory," he replies, walking ahead of me. I pause, letting his words sink, "What?" Just then, two men jump out of the bushes, and grab both my arms. The panic I felt less than a minute ago, surges back, pumping harder in my veins. "Wh- who are you? What do you want from me?" I gasp breathlessly as I struggle to free myself from the grip of the men who are clutching my arms. "I don't think an introduction should be done by a lone river," he chuckles, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Are you kidnapping me?" "Think of it more as.. uh.. some kind of detention. Someone who was able to take my wolf away has to be looked into." He turns on his heels, "Bring her back to the base." With that, he disappears into the woods. My heart sinks to my stomach. I literally save his life, and together we escape a group of mad men, almost dying in the process, now he's kidnapping me? The men drag me along with them. "Never seen her around here before," one of them grunts. "Probably from another pack." "Let me go you bastards!" They just sigh as if they are bored, and continue dragging me along with them to who knows where? "Stop! Let me go!" I try to break free again, but their grip is just too strong. "Ugh, blindfold her." "What? No!" A blindfold slip over my eyes, stealing away the light. "Hey! Stop! Let me–" Before I can protest, they gag me too. What the– 'I wonder what boss wants with her? Does he plan on sleeping with a girl he hardly knows?' My ears stand erect, and I whip my head to the side, wondering where the voice is coming from? I can read other people's minds too?! 'What a lovely chick! Boss sure has nice eyes!' If not for my gag, I'm sure my jaws would have dropped to the floor. Still not giving up, I attempt to break free. "Oh not this again," the more nonchalant one sighs, I can tell from the sound of his voice. He stops, lets go of my arm. 'An injection would shut her up.' I violently shake my head, making some incoherent noises. I stamp on the other goon's foot, but he just smacks my hand, and forces me to the ground. "Acting like a heroine won't get you anywhere kitty," he snarls at me. My body is completely drenched in sweat at this point. My chest feels imprisoned by icicles, and my breathing has become more unstable. So maybe this is how I leave this miserable planet. A sharp sting hits me the next second, freezing my thoughts midstream. My body freezes. A strange mix of heat and cold rushes down my spine, leaving me paralyzed. In a daze, I drop to the ground face flat. ... My eyes flicker open. A blinding light hits my face, forcing me to shut my eyes tight. After some seconds, I open them again, trying to adjust it to the light around. "Seems cupcake is awake now." A familiar silky voice wraps itself around my ears. That voice belongs to... I snap my eyes open, setting them on the man before me. For a few minutes, I take in his features finally. I wasn't able to notice his features, since it was all dark. He has a golden olive skin which is.. just beautiful. Thick brows that arch perfectly over his eyes, one of them slightly scarred. His eyes are the kindest green eyes I have ever set my gaze upon, if not the kindest pair of eyes I've ever seen. His nose is straight, and strong, with freckles over them. I've never seen a guy with freckles before, but this man.. his freckles sit nicely on him. A square, sculpted jaw frames his face, leading down to a subtle cleft in his chin, the faint shadow of stubble giving him a rugged, sexy even, untouchable vibe. His cheekbones are high, not to mention his glorious golden brown hair that falls to his shoulder. Ugh! I want to take his clothes off him! He is divine! "Are you satisfied?" His voice brings me back to the present. "Huh?" A small smirk plays on his lips, and he comes closer to where I'm being tied up, squatting in front of me. "First of all, thank you." "Took you long enough!" I suck my teeth, "You're welcome." "Second of all, what really are you? Looking at you, you shouldn't be more than an omega. How come you have such power to rip a Lycan off his wolf?" I blink, still confused. "I honestly.. don't know. I don't know what happened." 'I still can't tell if she's lying or not. What else should I do to get the truth out of her?' "I'm saying the truth. I'm not lying!" I protest. He studies my face for a moment then pulls away, "Where are you from?" I hesitate, my heart flipping hard. "Uh.. silver.. silver.." "Speak," he says calmly, but his eyes carry a kind of fire I don't think I'm ready for. "Silver Crest pack." He holds his chin, "Hmm? What brought you out of there?" "I was running away. I sort of.. killed the Beta who happened to be my stepfather, and I tried to run away, but tripped and fell unconscious. Then found myself in the middle of the mating grounds. I tried running for my life, but I ran into my step father's.. well dead step father's best friend who I told my story, and he asked me to run away, but the Alpha's son heard everything and he ran off to tell the Alpha so I'm pretty sure they'd be looking for me to kill me too." I ramble off the words out in one breath, gasping like I just ran a marathon. Lycan king looks back at me, his right eye twitching. "You're such a basket mouth. Gosh. Why did you kill your step father by the way?" "He tried raping me, and I had to defend myself." He narrows his eyes, "Hmm. And you're on the run, correct?" That's literally what I told him, but.. "Yes, correct," I grit my teeth. "Hmm, I'm taking you back there," he turns on his heels. "What? Please don't! I can't go back there!" I raise my voice, panic striken. "Ah you'll be fine. I can't have you wandering around. Those rogues would defile you too bad." "I'd rather have that, than go back to that place!" I yell before I stop myself. He looks over his shoulder, giving him an expressionless look. "You're scary for twenty two," he turns around to face me again. He snaps his fingers, and someone comes running in. "Bring the seer over. I want to know who exactly she is. I feel she's lying to me." The man bows, "Yes boss." I look back at him horrified, "Excuse me? What's that supposed to mean?" "An omega who can heal injuries, and also rip off wolves? You're not ordinary at all."Asha I drag myself to bed, all the terror in my veins flushes to my legs, and dumps itself there. I drag in a sharp, painful breath and slump on the bed. "He really wanted to kill me," I mutter as the images of the knife come back flashing before my eyes. I swallow down the lump in my throat, then force my eyes to close shut. Now I can't sleep. The images of the knife keep on coming back to haunt my brain, filling it with all kinds of terror. I sniffle, "Bastard," I hiss under my breath. I shift my weight to my side, and try to close my eyes again, but nothing is working. "Haa," I sit upright, peeling the hoodie off my body. I discreetly place it behind the bed, and sigh deeply. Everything is overwhelming in the worst way. Rheagar wants intel from Auren at all costs; Auren wants me to pretend Rheagar got his hands on him. The actual fuck? What have I gotten myself into? Just then, Auren struts into the room, his hand dipped into his pocket. I immediatel
AshaI race back into the living room, my heart still pounding in my ears. I look around for any sign of Auren. My insides are trembling violently, hoping he's already gone to bed. I tiptoe through the dark room to the stairs, cautious of how my feet sound beneath me. I'm almost close to the stairs when— "And where are you coming from?" His deep voice vibrates through my bones. Fuck it. I bite my lips and slowly turn around to find him sitting on the couch, his legs spread out. "I—" I quickly find the words to say, "went out." "Why did you go out?" He presses on. "Just for fresh air," I straighten my back, slipping my hands into my hoodie pocket. In that moment, the lights come on. I almost jerk back in shock, but I try as much as possible to hold my ground. Auren stands up from the couch, advancing towards me menacingly, "You never go out for fresh air," he wraps his hand around my chin, "Since when did you start?" His eyes darken. "There's always a first time
Asha Ten PM.The moment of truth. I take a careful look around the park. There are not really many people around. Just a father walking with his daughter and an old man sitting on one of the benches, probably enjoying the breeze. I sit on an empty bench feeling uncomfortable already. "He said ten PM. Why isn't he here yet?" I grit my teeth, shoving my hands in my hoodie pocket. "You even stick to time," a warm hand pats my hair, "What a lovely creature you are." I almost jump out of my skin when I hear the voice behind me. I swirl around so fast to discover it's just the bastard, Rheagar. "You scared me, what the fuck?" I knit my brows together in a deep frown. He shrugs his shoulders, and rounds the bench sitting behind me, "It's a good thing you came." "Go straight to the point," I hiss, "Auren doesn't know I'm here." "He isn't supposed to," he dips his hands into his hoodie pocket and brings out an envelope. My heart skips a beat. What does he have in there
AshaAsha, my love. I stop what I'm doing as soon as I hear Lucas's voice. "Yeah?" Rheagar has struck again. He's made Auren think he's infiltrated his circle through you. I pinch my brows together, "What?" In all you do. When he comes, do not admit to meeting Rheagar in that cafe. Deny it at all costs. "Wh-what if he sees through my lies?" I feel my teeth clattering. He won't. Make sure he doesn't. I swallow the lump building in my throat. Acid rushes to my stomach, making me coil uncomfortably. "Give him your best puppy face. He might hate me but surely he wouldn't see past innocent puppy eyes." I pause, thinking about the suggestion. What if it doesn't work? Auren doesn't like me enough to look past puppy eyes. "It mightn't work," I shake my head, "He hates me too much for that," I sigh deeply. He thinks you're one naive little lady. Keep up that assumption; don't break it for him. "Ah I see—" "Asha!" An angry voice booms in my chest. I flinch, al
AurenI've gotten you from the inside.I read the words on the piece of paper over, and over again. This is definitely from Rheagar. He's still out there, and I haven't laid my hands on him. Fuck it. I grit my teeth as I crumple the piece of paper, and throw it in the trash can. What a silly fucker. I rub my temples with my fingertips, temporarily closing my eyes. I imagine capturing Rheagar, and strangling the fuck out of him. That's what I really want to do. I exhale heavily, opening my eyes again. My eyes land on the wall clock. It's been two hours since that little lady left. Where is she now? Just then, she bursts in through the front door, panting. I shoot my brows up, my shoulders tensing in alert. "What's the matter with you?" I narrow my eyes. She scoots over to where I'm standing, looking at me with big, wide eyes. "Is it.. is it three hours already?" She gasps, placing a palm over her chest. My shoulders droop. This creature never fails t
Asha I stretch my legs under the table, finally feeling alive. It's been days since I've had a stagnant routine. Auren's house, his excruciating missions, his house again. I've never really had the chance to breathe properly since I've been staying with him; that's why I literally had to beg him to come to this pretty cafe. The barista comes in with my cup of caramel macchiato, and places it on the table. "Yay, thank you so much," I smile at the pretty redhead. She smiles right back at me, "Sure. Enjoy!" I take the cup to my lips, and take a long sip. The warm, milky smoothness hits my mouth, caressing my tongue. The caramel adds this buttery sweetness that makes me want to plunge myself in more macchiatos. The espresso does kick in a little, making everything so balanced in my mouth. "Ahh," I moan, throwing my head back in pleasure. "I need to leave that place more often. This is wonderful," I mumble, taking more sips. "Care if I join you, miss?" A gruff voice inte
Orion"Bring him in." The giant doors open, revealing the traitor, Roger.Roger is led to my throne, and forced to his knees. "You traitor, how could you do this? Even to your best friend?" He looks down, unable to answer me. "Don't keep me waiting. I asked you why you let Damon's killer e
Asha Auren comes back to the car looking distressed. His brows are pinched together, his eyes slightly narrowed. 'Zarven couldn't do this to me. It can't be.' I arch an eyebrow. Who's Zarven? What couldn't he do now? I gasp, placing my fingers over my mouth. Oh my goodness, is somebody d
AurenFinally.Time for payback. I stand outside the building where Rheagar's men are supposedly hiding out. I turn to Raze, and give him a nod, "Go scope the place out with the others, and come give me report. I can't go in with cupcake over here," I tilt my head to Asha who's still sitting in
Auren I flinch as I hear my name, my heart skipping a beat, thudding, and skipping a beat again. My eyes land on the petite platinum blonde that races to the bed with excitement flashing in her eyes. It's Mia, my only female friend. An eccentric one, of course. "Mia?" I furrow my brows
