CHAPTER 3: VENGEANCE

last update 최신 업데이트: 2024-07-23 01:57:27

ALEXANDER POV

I stared at her as she was taken away, and my heart sank. I didn’t understand why, but I felt a deep pain knowing she was being sent to a mental hospital. The very thought drove me to the brink of insanity. She was the mother of my newborns, and that made me weak. I wanted to protect her, to take her in my arms and comfort her, maybe even take her like I did nine months ago.

“Fuck! You’re insane,” I cursed internally, fighting against my wolf. The damn wolf wouldn’t give me peace, not after Daniela was taken away.

“You know you can’t shame your family. You can’t admit you had a one-night stand with an Omega. You can’t admit that, right?” I tried to convince Ronald, my wolf, but he kept on wiggling inside me, making it hard to concentrate.

“She’s not our mate. Why are you fighting for her?”

“I don’t know, but I feel she should be.”

“Keep dreaming. We can’t have an Omega as our mate. That’s why we had to get rid of her after she gave birth.” I tried to reason with him, but my wolf wouldn’t listen. He kept fighting me, causing my eyes to change from dark to yellowish.

As soon as she was taken out, I rushed upstairs to the room where my pups were. I needed to calm myself down. The only person who could calm my mind was Daniela and i had realised that in our one night stand, but now, she was gone for good.

Surprisingly, she was the only one who made me feel alive that night at the club. That was the reason for our one-night stand. She was an Omega, but I didn’t understand why I was so drawn to her. It felt like a connection I couldn’t explain.

After her, I never found the same satisfaction with another she-wolf.

Walking into the room after leaving the guests in the living hall, I heard my pups crying and clenched my fists.

Since Beta Lucas took them away from Daniela in the labour ward, they had been crying non-stop. One of them had a headache from all the crying.

“Rose, why is she crying? Are you tired of your work?” I roared, and the Omega shook her head vigorously, trying to soothe the baby.

“Bring her here,” I ordered, and she quickly complied.

“What’s wrong, my love? Don’t cry, daddy is here.” I smiled at her small fingers as I played with them.

I decided to name my baby girl Katherine after Laura’s mother, to appease Laura.

Laura’s pack was vast and wealthy, while mine was struggling after what happened in my family. That’s why my mother chose Laura as my mate, hoping her pack would help ours grow.

My phone rang, and I pulled it from my pocket. Katie quieted down, playing with her fingers while Nathaniel was with the other maid in the room. Seeing a private number on the caller ID, I frowned.

“Rose, take her and prepare her anf her brother for the party. I need to take this.” The Omega rushed over, took Katie, and I left the room.

“Brother.” I heard the voice on the other end and froze, my eyes widening in the hallway.

“Alphonce!” I cleared my throat, trying to compose myself, but I was anything but calm. I rushed to the railings, leaning my left hand there while gripping the phone tightly with my right.

“Are you surprised to hear from me?”

“What do you want, Alphonce?” I hissed, flabbergasted and nervous.

“Oh, stop it, brother. Have you already forgotten what mother and you did to me?” I exhaled deeply, raising my eyes to the ceiling.

“Stay away from us, Alphonce. You said you didn’t want anything to do with us, remember?”

“I said that, but I didn’t say I wouldn’t come back for revenge.”

“Are you threatening me?”

“I’m not. Just be careful, brother.”

“Hello? Hello?” The call was cut off abruptly, just like the relationship I had with Alphonce.

“Fuck it!” I paced back and forth, wondering what was on Alphonce’s mind, but I couldn’t figure it out.

Why come after all these years?

What was he planning?

“My love.” I turned to see Laura strutting towards me.

“Yes.”

“I’ve made her disappear,” she said with a smile satified with her actions, raising her face for a kiss on the cheek.

“We need to prepare for the party.” I nodded, faking a smile, then walked side by side with her into the room. I still needed to talk to my mother about the sudden call from Alphonce.

ALPHONCE POV

I formed a sinister smile as I stared at the phone in my hand, then threw it back in my pocket.

“Home sweet home,” I murmured, smiling at the sight before me.

“Sir, everything is in order,” one of my men said, and I nodded.

Who would have thought I’d get the chance to avenge my mate so soon?

“Good, let’s go.” I rushed to the back door of the car, one of the men already opening it for me. I jumped in, leaning my head back on the seat.

I still couldn’t believe I was back here, a place I vowed ten years ago never to return to. But could I be blamed for seeking revenge on those who wronged my mate and me? And who were they but my own biological family?

Should I remove my glasses? No. Who knew what the paparazzi would do? Plus, I didn’t want to hear the obvious comments.

“Is he the Alpha?”

“Wow! But our Alpha doesn’t dress like that.” I smiled at those familiar comments and closed my eyes, adjusting my black suit as the driver accelerated.

Time for vengeance!

DANIELA’S POV“We can work together to achieve what each one of us wants.”Deborah’s words dragged me back from my thoughts. Her tone was persuasive, almost pleading, but my eyes stayed cold on her.“And why should I work with my enemy?” My voice was calm, flat—almost too calm for her comfort. Her lips trembled before she found her reply. “Why else are you here, if not to get the revenge you’ve always wished for?”I tilted my head, studying her like she was an insect beneath my shoe. She wasn’t entirely wrong. Why was I here? For years, revenge had burned in me like a second heartbeat. Alexander and Laura had wronged me, had torn me apart, and I had sworn they would both pay. But I wasn’t a fool. Revenge without caution was suicide, and I had more than myself to think about. My pups were bound to me—innocent, precious lives I would not risk. I had influence, I had resources, but Alexander was still the most powerful Alpha in our world. Going against him recklessly would be like throwi

  • ENTANGLED WITH THE ALPHA TWINS   CHAPTER 54: SHE WAS A WITCH

GIFT’S POV “But I have never seen him in person.” Devorah’s voice was quiet, almost trembling, but in the heavy silence that followed, it was as though her words had landed in the middle of a frozen lake. The air felt still, too still, and I could hear my own heartbeat, slow and deliberate in my ears. “Okay…” I said, forcing a shallow breath past the lump in my throat. “That’s… a relief.” Relief—yes—but it wasn’t enough. My mind itched for more, like my skin did when I brushed against thorns. “About Alexander,” Devorah went on after a long pause, her gaze flickering away from mine as if the shadows in the room had more right to hear this than I did. “They say he killed a pregnant witch named Clara.” The name rolled in my head like a dropped stone in a deep well. Clara. “He didn’t know she was a powerful witch,” Devorah’s tone sharpened slightly, “but she left a curse on him before she died. Even the twins—” she glanced at me now, her eyes holding something unreadable, “—t

  • ENTANGLED WITH THE ALPHA TWINS   CHAPTER 53: SECRETS

GIFT’S POV I didn’t waste time when she admitted tahat I wasn't here to preend about being her friend. Crossing one leg over the other, I leaned into the couch like I owned the entire place, and concentrated on her face which was disfigured, one of her eyes not even visible on that side, “So,” I began coolly, my voice slicing through the silence like a blade, “what did Laura promise you to kill me?” Her brows twitched, and I saw it in her eyes, that brief flicker of panic before she masked it with fake indifference. She leaned back in the chair like she wasn’t guilty. I smirked. “Was it money?” I pressed, eyes locked on her. “Or did she offer you a title? A higher rank, perhaps? Something pretty enough to sell your soul?” Her lips parted, but no sound came out. I tilted my head. “Answer me!” This time, my voice thundered, filled with the fire I had buried for too long. My fists clenched tightly over my chest, the rise and fall of my breath sharp, controlled and dangerou

  • ENTANGLED WITH THE ALPHA TWINS   CHAPTER 52: A HOUSE IN THE WOODS

GIFT'S POV “She lied to us.” Deborah’s voice was hollow, her eyes distant as they fixed on the crooked doorway of the small wooden house buried deep in the woods. This was her "home"—the place she had retreated to after choosing the life of a rogue. I said nothing, only stared at the structure in silence. It was worn out, weathered by time and regret. Its walls sagged with the weight of stories untold, and rusted metal scraps littered the yard like forgotten memories. Inside, the stale air clung to my skin, heavy with dust and decay. Deborah stood near a rickety coffee table, her fists clenched so tight the knuckles had turned pale. Her blood-red eyes shimmered—not with magic, but with suppressed tears. “I never thought she could be that heartless,” she murmured, her voice trembling with fury. I shifted my gaze to her, studying the crack in her composure. She was unraveling, and for the first time, I wasn’t watching an enemy—I was watching a mother barely holding it togethe

  • ENTANGLED WITH THE ALPHA TWINS   CHAPTER 51: MEETING DEBORAH AGAIN

GIFT’S POV I had been standing here for an hour now, and she still hadn’t shown up. The wind whispered through the trees, brushing against my cheek like a cold warning. Maybe she changed her mind. Maybe she never intended to come. But no—she told me to meet her here, deep in the woods, far from any eyes or ears. That meant something. My phone buzzed inside the tiny pocket sewn into my underwear. I reached for my earpiece, clicking it into my ear with a sharp motion. "Have you seen her?" Vivian’s voice came through, tight and concerned—for the fifth time tonight. I straightened my jacket and exhaled. "No. She hasn’t come." "You need to come back. It’s late. The woods aren’t safe—" "She’ll come," I cut her off softly, my voice steady. "I can feel it." "Then let me send Thomas and Richie to—" "No, Vivian!" I snapped, louder than I meant to. My voice echoed through the trees, cold and final. "Trust me." "If you do that, you’ll ruin everything. She’ll run." "She’s al

  • ENTANGLED WITH THE ALPHA TWINS   CHAPTER 50: A WELCOME PARTY

GIFT’S POV “I-It’s not like that. Don’t worry, I’m fine,” I forced a smile, even though inside, I was clawing through waves of trauma. Because this… this was exactly how Alexander had arranged my pups’ welcoming party. Only, that party hadn’t been meant to welcome them into a home. It had been a trap—a show—to brand them as someone else’s children. I remembered that day vividly. How I screamed. How I fought to be heard. How I told everyone they were stealing my pups from me. But no one listened. Instead, Alexander stood tall before them all, declaring that I was insane. That I wasn’t of sound mind. That I had no right to claim the Alpha’s pups. That was the past. I refused to let that pain rule my future. I sucked in a shaky breath, clenched my fists at my sides, and turned to the decorated entrance ahead. Bright balloons and flowers framed the doorway like a celebration of rebirth. If only Katherine and Nathaniel were here to see this. To witness their new home. “I
