CHAPTER 3: VENGEANCE

ALEXANDER POV

I stared at her as she was taken away, and my heart sank. I didn’t understand why, but I felt a deep pain knowing she was being sent to a mental hospital. The very thought drove me to the brink of insanity. She was the mother of my newborns, and that made me weak. I wanted to protect her, to take her in my arms and comfort her, maybe even take her like I did nine months ago.

“Fuck! You’re insane,” I cursed internally, fighting against my wolf. The damn wolf wouldn’t give me peace, not after Daniela was taken away.

“You know you can’t shame your family. You can’t admit you had a one-night stand with an Omega. You can’t admit that, right?” I tried to convince Ronald, my wolf, but he kept on wiggling inside me, making it hard to concentrate.

“She’s not our mate. Why are you fighting for her?”

“I don’t know, but I feel she should be.”

“Keep dreaming. We can’t have an Omega as our mate. That’s why we had to get rid of her after she gave birth.” I tried to reason with him, but my wolf wouldn’t listen. He kept fighting me, causing my eyes to change from dark to yellowish.

As soon as she was taken out, I rushed upstairs to the room where my pups were. I needed to calm myself down. The only person who could calm my mind was Daniela and i had realised that in our one night stand, but now, she was gone for good.

Surprisingly, she was the only one who made me feel alive that night at the club. That was the reason for our one-night stand. She was an Omega, but I didn’t understand why I was so drawn to her. It felt like a connection I couldn’t explain.

After her, I never found the same satisfaction with another she-wolf.

Walking into the room after leaving the guests in the living hall, I heard my pups crying and clenched my fists.

Since Beta Lucas took them away from Daniela in the labour ward, they had been crying non-stop. One of them had a headache from all the crying.

“Rose, why is she crying? Are you tired of your work?” I roared, and the Omega shook her head vigorously, trying to soothe the baby.

“Bring her here,” I ordered, and she quickly complied.

“What’s wrong, my love? Don’t cry, daddy is here.” I smiled at her small fingers as I played with them.

I decided to name my baby girl Katherine after Laura’s mother, to appease Laura.

Laura’s pack was vast and wealthy, while mine was struggling after what happened in my family. That’s why my mother chose Laura as my mate, hoping her pack would help ours grow.

My phone rang, and I pulled it from my pocket. Katie quieted down, playing with her fingers while Nathaniel was with the other maid in the room. Seeing a private number on the caller ID, I frowned.

“Rose, take her and prepare her anf her brother for the party. I need to take this.” The Omega rushed over, took Katie, and I left the room.

“Brother.” I heard the voice on the other end and froze, my eyes widening in the hallway.

“Alphonce!” I cleared my throat, trying to compose myself, but I was anything but calm. I rushed to the railings, leaning my left hand there while gripping the phone tightly with my right.

“Are you surprised to hear from me?”

“What do you want, Alphonce?” I hissed, flabbergasted and nervous.

“Oh, stop it, brother. Have you already forgotten what mother and you did to me?” I exhaled deeply, raising my eyes to the ceiling.

“Stay away from us, Alphonce. You said you didn’t want anything to do with us, remember?”

“I said that, but I didn’t say I wouldn’t come back for revenge.”

“Are you threatening me?”

“I’m not. Just be careful, brother.”

“Hello? Hello?” The call was cut off abruptly, just like the relationship I had with Alphonce.

“Fuck it!” I paced back and forth, wondering what was on Alphonce’s mind, but I couldn’t figure it out.

Why come after all these years?

What was he planning?

“My love.” I turned to see Laura strutting towards me.

“Yes.”

“I’ve made her disappear,” she said with a smile satified with her actions, raising her face for a kiss on the cheek.

“We need to prepare for the party.” I nodded, faking a smile, then walked side by side with her into the room. I still needed to talk to my mother about the sudden call from Alphonce.

*********

ALPHONCE POV

I formed a sinister smile as I stared at the phone in my hand, then threw it back in my pocket.

“Home sweet home,” I murmured, smiling at the sight before me.

“Sir, everything is in order,” one of my men said, and I nodded.

Who would have thought I’d get the chance to avenge my mate so soon?

“Good, let’s go.” I rushed to the back door of the car, one of the men already opening it for me. I jumped in, leaning my head back on the seat.

I still couldn’t believe I was back here, a place I vowed ten years ago never to return to. But could I be blamed for seeking revenge on those who wronged my mate and me? And who were they but my own biological family?

Should I remove my glasses? No. Who knew what the paparazzi would do? Plus, I didn’t want to hear the obvious comments.

“Is he the Alpha?”

“Wow! But our Alpha doesn’t dress like that.” I smiled at those familiar comments and closed my eyes, adjusting my black suit as the driver accelerated.

Time for vengeance!

DANIELA’S POV The shock on Alexander’s face hit me first. His forehead tightened, his mouth fell open, and his eyes bulged as if he truly believed a ghost had walked into the room. His fingers loosened around the gun just slightly, enough to show the tremor he was fighting to hide. And yet… I felt nothing. There was no thrill, no long-dreamed satisfaction. I always thought that if this moment ever came, him seeing me, recognizing me, realizing the truth he buried, I would smile, maybe even feel some twisted sense of victory. But as he stared at me as if his world had snapped open, there was nothing inside me. No happiness. No satisfaction. It felt… empty. As if part of me had always known he would discover me again. As if a small and pathetic piece of me thought he would find me on his own. What a fool.I forced that thought out of my head, snapping myself back to the room, to the woman tied to the chair behind us and to the silver needles warming in my hand.“What is so surprising,

DANIELA’S POV I knew it was a stupid move to follow Alexander, but my curiosity always betrayed me. It always pushed past logic, past common sense, past everything I knew better than to do. I should have known that he wasn’t a fool. That he would smell me, hear me, sense me. Alexander was many things, but stupid wasn’t one of them. Of course he would know I was behind him. But I still did it. I still followed.Maybe deep down, a hidden part of me wished he wasn’t who I knew he was. Maybe I hoped, just a little that Alexander would surprise me. That he would be better than the monster I had come to understand. But hope is foolish, and I was the biggest fool. Alexander would never change. Not for me, not for anyone. Why did I still bother? Why did he still affect me enough to make me walk behind him like a ghost from his past? He was the enemy. The man who broke me into pieces and walked away like nothing happened. The one who reduced me until there was barely anything left to like, le

I continued sharply before she could open her mouth. My eyes were glaring daggers at her as I stepped back, trying to control the storm raging inside me."Sir, it’s..."I waved my hand at Lucas, cutting him off without sparing him a glance.Because the truth was… something about Gift messed with my mind in ways I hated to admit.I felt something for her, something I couldn’t name, couldn’t understand, and definitely couldn’t allow.I had even helped her friend get the medical treatment she needed only because I couldn’t stand seeing her devastated. Couldn’t stand the brokenness in her eyes.Couldn’t stand what Alphonce told me earlier.Yes, Alphonce was the one who told me what happened to Vivian. He had swallowed his pride, put aside his ego, and called me for help. And that was the moment the truth hit me like a p

ALEXANDER’S POV The cold night air bit at my skin as I stared at Gift in her car. Her eyes were sharp, irritated, burning with a challenge she didn’t dare voice. I should have shouted at her for following me, should have dragged answers out of her, but all I could see was the way her chest rose and fell, the tremor in her fingers, the stubborn lift of her chin. She was very different from Daniela. “Why are you following me?” I asked, keeping my voice steady even as my

ALPHONCE’S POV“Sir, we are under attack. We need...” The voice on the line cut off abruptly as a bullet slammed through the receiver. My hand jerked, and I slammed the phone down, fumbling to dial another number with a heart hammering against my chest.“Ricko?” I breathed out, my mind racing. The call came from one of my men left to watch over Gloria. I had underestimated her. She hadn’t regretted a single thing.“Yes, sir,” came Ricko’s steady voice, dragging me back from the edge of panic.“Send your toughest men to the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Perk Pack,” I barked, my head throbbing from the chaos of the day. The events kept piling up, each one harder to process than the last. My thoughts scrambled like a storm in my chest.“And three others at VanYard Hospital. DANIELA’S POV “Alexander?” The name slipped out of my mouth before I even understood what I was doing. It felt as if someone had taken control of my voice. I let go of Vivian’s hand and stood up. My chest felt tight. My breathing was uneven. It was time. I could not keep running from him forever. What happened in the past was already done. The woman I used to be was long gone. I had become someone new. Stronger. Colder. More dangerous.“Yes?” His voice was calm, almost too calm. I gestured for him to follow me out of the room. I did not want to disturb Vivian’s rest.“We need to talk,” I said as I stepped outside the room. I avoided looking at Alphonce who stared at me with confusion and concern. I could see him debating whether he should join us.“Go ahead,” Alexander replied. He crossed his arms over his chest. His face looked calm, almost gentle, but anyone who truly knew him would never be fooled. The calmest face sometimes hid the most violent storms.“Someone broke into my hous
