LOGINAuthor’s POV“What the hell is wrong with you?” River asks, his voice trembling with barely restrained rage.Everyone in the hall snaps their heads toward him, their mouths and eyes wide open.“Do you even know what you are saying?” he demands, fists clenched tightly at his sides. “Did you forget what would happen if you agree with Father? He is going to make Rylan king and toss me away. Don’t you think about my future at all, Mother? You promised you were going to do everything you could to make me king, but here you are, fucking denouncing your authority like I don’t even matter at all.” He feels so betrayed that his mother did everything without even carrying him along. But he is not the only one who feels that way. Many of the Elders who are Nerrissa’s supporters feel the same, and Nathaniel is the one who has it worst. His thoughts are chaotic and calculative. If Nerrissa complies with Charles, then Rylan becomes king… he would be powerless and have no chance to overthrow anythin
EVA’S POVAuthor's POVThe Elders trooped in, their eyes narrowing in a mix of confusion and disbelief when they met the Queen there. She used to be the last to arrive during council meetings. She would walk in with a dramatic and confident style, ensuring everyone could feel her presence and the raw, untamed aura that she carried. But today was different. She was silent and was almost shrinking into herself. She could not even bear to raise her head as she walked towards the platform and lowered herself into the chair, her fingers tightening around the armrest as she remembered how she was supposed to deny her actions and words in the next few minutes. Her expression was sad and her jaw was tight enough to cut through glass. The humiliation in store for her was already too much to bear, and she wished the ground would just open up and swallow her alive.Nathaniel bowed slightly in front of the King and took a step to climb the platform to stand in his usual spot behind Nerrissa, but
Author’s POVKing Charles felt satisfied seeing Nerissa on her knees, helpless and at his mercy—exactly where he had imagined her to be. She had been challenging his power for the past few months and had made life difficult for him, but now he was fulfilled.Yeah, he was hurt about his wife kissing another man, but instead of wallowing in self-pity, he would use it to his advantage and make sure he won in the end.He crouched lower in front of her, his smirk wide and triumphant. “Good girl,” he said coolly, patting her cheeks. “Now, let’s talk business, my Luna.”Nerissa’s chest heaved as she tried to keep her emotions in check and stay strong, but she couldn’t. It was too difficult to wrap her head around the fact that she was this helpless, humiliated, and that soon she would be dancing to his tune. She raised her head, fangs gritted, eyes blazing with barely restrained rage. “What business are we talking about?” she asked, even though she could already sense where he was heading.C
Rylan’s POV“Alright… there is no time to waste.” His voice echoes through the room. “Rylan, hand her the picture,” he orders.“Yes, sir,” I answer, delight curling through my tone. Of course, Nerissa’s downfall is my happiness, and I will bask in it thoroughly. Without wasting another second, I extend the envelope toward her.She hesitates, her eyes flicking between my hand and my face. “What picture?” she asks, confused but still as arrogant as ever. “What games are you playing, Charles?” she spits through gritted teeth.“Have it, Luna,” I sneer, my voice dripping with mockery. “You should take a look first.”She hisses and snatches the envelope from me. She mutters about being busy as she dips her hand inside and pulls out the picture. The moment her eyes land on it, the words die in her mouth.“What?!” she snaps, her eyes wide, her mouth hanging open. Her hands tremble visibly before tightening around the picture. She looks at Father, her chest rising and falling with barely restr
Rylan’s POVMy expression falters slightly at the seriousness in his voice. “What’s that?”Father takes a deep breath before he speaks again. “I will be manipulative a little,” he says, and I can hear the sadness in his voice. “About Nerrissa.”I take a step closer, confusion settling deep inside me. “What is it about Nerrissa?”He grabs an envelope on a stool nearby and hands it over to me.Without asking questions, I reach into the envelope and pull out a picture. My eyes widen as I stare at the picture intensely. I can’t help but think that I must be seeing it wrongly. Then, when I realize that I’m not, my mouth falls open.It is a picture of Nerrissa kissing Alpha Leon. That same arrogant and annoying Leon.“Nerrissa is cheating on you?!” I snap, my fingers tightening around the picture. She is not only a manipulative witch, but also an adulterer.Father shrugs, pressing a palm to his face. “I don’t think she is cheating, though. But you know they have been meeting frequently to d
Rylan's POV "Lira—" I start to speak, but the word curls up and stays just at the tip of my tongue, as I watch her leave. She is furious and she has every right to be. Seraphina thinks only about herself and doesn't care about anyone else. But with Lira now, she's crossed a boundary and I will make sure she pays, together with her new partner in crime, Chloe. My face contorts into a small frown, as the thought of the both of them working together rings through my head. Nothing good will come out of that. With a small sigh rippling through my lips, I get into my car, and drive off, heading for the castle. As I drive, my eyes stay on the road, my mind wanders back to Lira. Seraphina's plan is to ruin her, I can see that. If I wasn't there, then only the goddess knows what the outcome would have been. I thank the goddess that I didn't waste time driving when I saw pictures of Seraphina and Chloe trending. That's when I know they're up to no good,
