ISABELLA’S POV

Even though he didn’t want me to leave him, we already stood in the airport. My luggage was in my right hand. Bianca had tried to talk me out of coming, too, saying I could watch the concert online and keep resting. She even said I stood the risk of danger, given how cruel my sister could be.

But I was able to assure her that I would be fine. She had wanted to follow us here, too, but Alaric had managed to convince her to stay. I had heard the news that her husband refused to let her go, and I would never understand why. He didn’t even like her.

Who holds on to someone they don’t even want?

“I will miss you.” He whispered against my left ear as he pulled me close for a hug, pulling me away from my thoughts.

THIRD PERSON’S POVAuthor’s note: I’m sorry I made a mistake with the last chapter. The first stripper to walk out was the red-haired female, and the previous was the blonde female. Thank you for understanding.****The moment the sun broke through the sky, they were already in the car, heading towards the house of the red-haired female they had found out to be Liora Clinton. Kelvin had details of where she lived and worked, and in minutes, the car rolled up in front of her small apartment.Isabella was still thinking of what to do next when the door opened and she stepped out, clutching tightly onto the hand of a young boy. He wore a white sweatshirt, his red collar shirt peaking out, and black jeans with white sneakers on. He had a backpack on. She was dressed in nothing like yesterday. She wore a long-sleeved black gown that stopped above her knees with a button in front of it. “She has a child?” Isabella asked.“Hmmm hmmm.” Kelvin responded, “Follow her.” He ordered the driver th

THIRD PERSON’S POV“You can't just barge in, Isabel. You could get arrested.” Kelvin advised, while Isabella’s fingers remained clamped around the door latch.Isabella gritted her teeth. “He is right there, K. All we have to do is go in there and get his testimony.” Her voice trembled. They could hear the song booming from the house, accompanied by women's laughter. As if that wasn't bad enough, the upper part of his House was made of glass. Isabella could see those women dressed in LINGERIE of different colors, their bodies pressed against each other as they danced. The red-haired female grabbed the blonde’s boobs, and the blonde didn't seem offended. In there was a man who put her in a challenging position, yet he was free and unharmed. She clenched her teeth from the rage.“You and I know he won’t give that up for free.” He continued, now grabbing her other arm. “You won’t be able to save him if you are locked up. And if they know we are onto them, they will hide all evidence. We n

ISABELLA’S POVI pulled my eyes apart, my head aching as my hazy vision slowly fell into place. I let out a soft hmm the moment I registered my room. Then my eyes landed on him.Alaric. He was sitting on a chair beside me, holding my hand, and the memories came rushing in. The building collapsed, and that was the reason we went to the party.I sat up in a jiffy, causing a wave of weakness to hit me hard.“Easy.” He let out, his eyes warm and his voice tender.Yet underneath that, sat the dark circles under his eyes, a proof that he had emotions he was desperately dealing with.I could tell.“Did we get them? The truth, babe. Did we get the truth?” I let out in a breath and dragged in another. He was quiet for a while. “No.” He responded, and I gasped. “But I will sort it out.”“This is all my fault. I shouldn't have stayed to talk to Valeria. I should have known she was of no good. Now, you will…” My voice cracked as it dawned on me.He would go to jail. I had failed a simple task.My

His business was being dragged down, as most of his partners said he had too many dramas going on.He heard footsteps but didn't bother to look up because he knew it was either his useless son and his wife or Mirabella. Whichever one it was, he wasn't in the mood to see them. “Good afternoon, Mr Wolfe.” He heard a strange voice say, and he looked up to see a man dressed in a neatly pressed charcoal suit with a briefcase in his hand. “I’m here on behalf of Mrs Bianca Wolfe.”Mr Wolfe’s hand froze midway out of delight. He had known that she couldn't do without him and would come back to beg him. But he wouldn't give in easily. She would have to earn his forgiveness.“Tell her she can come to apologize herself.” He announced, sipping his drink. “

THIRD PERSON POVAlaric heart thudded against his rib cage as he threw one door open, then another. He had already searched four, and every single one was empty, causing his fear to rise. His breathing had gotten uneven as his mind reeled with what could have happened to her. He was about to call the police. Then he heard a man grunt, and he froze for a second; a million things ran through his mind, yet none of them said anything about his mind cheating. Kicking the door open, he saw Isabella lying there on the bed like she had no strength left while the stranger held onto his nose, which was now bleeding. She had headbutted him. The second her eyes took in her man; she let out a soft sob. Relief washed over her. “You sick bastard! How dare you touch what is mine.” Alaric snarled as he launched towards the man, grabbed him by the neck, and then slammed him into the wall. The man groaned as he struggled to be set free. His breathing stopped, and he could feel death knocking. He trie
