Alert

I laid mute unable to let out any words, with my eyes fixed on the white comfy towel wrapped around his waist, I gulped down really hard with so many thoughts going through my mind.

I was about to lose it, yes, I know! Deep fear gripped me at once as our eyes locked together so fiercely that it made it very hard for me to breathe.

I couldn't move as I laid on the bed, my eyes not leaving the magnificent being who isn't just a werewolf but my husband, the realization of me already married to him made my heart skip so hard.

"You shouldn't be staring at me in such a way" I heard Nelson say, his eyes still not leaving me.

Embarrassed, I looked away and I could see my cheeks flushed red at his words. I didn't realize that I was so carried away by his looks, his handsome physique, especially those abs that were about to drive me crazy, not just that alone, but throw me much further than I could ever think of.

"Sorry about that, '' I muttered so faintly that I doubted he heard my voice. It must have been really weird to watch him see me as something else other than his wife.

"Melissa," he called out.

Slowly, I averted my gaze at him, it felt like I was being controlled by something, maybe a spell had been cast on me and I just couldn't differentiate the good from the bad anymore. I was about to lose it but I won't allow any of my feelings get in the way.

I watched him, looking up to him like a little child watching his guardian. This time around, there was a look in his eyes, a strange but admiring glare that made my blood run wild with thoughts.

Before I could utter any word, still in his towel, Nelson came closer to me, his eyes didn't move away neither did mine and at that minute, it felt like a great wind was about to swirl me into another direction.

His eyes, those enchanting eyes of his were about to drive me insane. Of course, I didn't succumb to this marriage and all I ever thought of was the opposite, not what I am seeing right now.

"You don't have to look scared, I have far more delicate things to do other than touching you" I heard him whisper to me, he was so close that I felt his breath on my face.

Speechless, I dared not to gaze up at him, Nelson moved away from me and walked into the bathroom holding some clothes.

Realizing I am alone, I let out a deep breath with my left hand placed on my chest as a sign of relief. Hearing him say those words gladdened me, although I found it out of the blues, I have always heard people say that newly couples tend to make love the night of their wedding but apparently mine will be different, in a way that really pleases me.

I laid my head filled with hope, sure, prince Nelson is proving himself as a perfect gentle man and I hope it's true or maybe I heard him wrong, of course not! He stated the fact that he won't touch me, I just hope he sticks to his words.

Few minutes later, I felt Nelson lay on the bed. My heart leaped as soon as I felt his presence. Very nervous, I dared not go turn around to where he laid, I glanced down at the night rope I wore and realized that a larger part of my cleavage was open. Feeling uncomfortable, I quickly covered it up with the blanket even though it seems like it's going to be a long night for me.

Morning came faster than I expected, with the ray of the sunlight on my face, I slowly opened my eyes as I yawned softly, my hair covering a large part of my face.

For a second, I couldn't figure out where I was, then suddenly, the whole pieces began to arrange themselves and I quickly remembered.

"You need to get dress"

Alerted by the voice, I turned to its direction only to find Nelson fully dressed in a black pants and white tunic that made him look very handsome. His hair was neatly brushed and those glittering eyes of his made my heart leap. Of course, there wasn't a smile on his face as usual and that added a very unique taste to him.

"Melissa, you need to get dressed" Nelson let out again, this time, his voice was louder and sharper as he stared at me with a Stern expression.

"But why?" I asked, wondering what might be happening.

"You don't have to ask much questions, we got married yesterday, the party thrown for us as newly couples, you failed to attend but right now, we have to get to the royal dining and have breakfast with the rest of the family, we don't need to keep them waiting"

Surprised, I didn't know what to say. A knock on the door alerted us and Nelson walked towards the door.

"It's I prince Nelson" a female voice called out form the outside, "I am here to attend to your bride and make her ready for breakfast"

Get me ready for breakfast? I asked myself with a raised eyebrow as I stared at Nelson.

"Do come in" he gestured, looked away from the door and rested his eyes on me, "I will be back in the next twenty minutes, I expect you to be done by then" he noted.

"But…." I muttered and watched him walk out of the room not wanting to hear any word that I have to say.

I bit my lower lip not knowing what else to say. No one ever informed me that life would be so different here. The idea of werewolves having breakfast together, great! Now I have lots of things to learn even though I am a mere human without any knowledge.

"Ma'am, are you ready?" The maid before me spoke out.

I looked up at her with my body still stuck to the comfy bed. For a moment, I forgot that she existed.

"You don't have to" I dismissed.

"No ma'am, I do, you are the prince's wife and he will have my heart pulled out if I don't have you ready in the given time he stated" her sharp blue eyes glittered in fear as she spoke.

"Have your heart ripped out?" I was confused.

The young maid looked at her feet. At that moment, I noticed the white gown she was putting on, her long brown hair and very red lips as she spoke. No doubt, she is very pretty and I couldn't help but wonder why a pretty girl like her is nothing but a slave.

"Ma'am, I have to get you ready, pleass" she responded with softened eyes.

"Don't call me ma'am please"

Her eyes lit up, "I need to"

"Why?"

"I can't address you by your name, you are my mistress and I am your slave" she replied.

"I don't care, I need you not to refer to me as ma'am, it makes me look old. I will prefer Melissa" I announced with a soft smile. I had no idea why I was filled with smiles all of a sudden but I wanted her to feel comfortable around me.

"Alright, Ma'am Melissa" she replied bowing in respect.

I stared at her very intensively and immediately, I let out a chuckle at her gesture, "You really want to address me as ma'am, I can see that"

"Yes I do"

"Oh…" I paused while watching her, "What is your name?" I implored.

"Patricia"

"Patricia, I don't know who assigned you to get me ready for breakfast. As you can see, I am new here and not just that alone, I am a human, not a werewolf. Pardon me, but right from time, I always say werewolves as beasts and when I got to know that I will be getting married to prince Nelson, I became terrified…" I paused not knowing why I was saying this to her, she is just a stranger but I couldn't help but feel very comfortable saying this out to her without thinking twice.

"Well, all I want to know is what kind of person prince Nelson is"

Patricia looked up at me with see written all over her face, I guess my request must have baffled her because she appeared dumbfounded for some few minutes.

"Prince Nelson is a good man" she uttered.

Not saying any more words to her, I got down from the bed, undressed and walked into the bath which had warm water already prepared.

After the bath, a long blue dress was presented to me, I wore it and had my hair neatly brushed with little makeup applied on my face. I won't lie, I love my look but I couldn't help the way my heart beat at the sight of Nelson who walked into the room.

Together, we got out and headed down the hallway, my heart beating so hard as I wondered what the rest of the family would look like.
