Chapter six

"What?!!!!" Justin was extremely shocked. " I don't get. How was he responsible?" Justin asked.

" I'll tell you" Ana said and wiped her tears.

FLASHBACK.........

" Ana, Ana, Ana," Alex called.

" Yes Alex" Ana replied walking out of her room with her protuding tummy ( she was eight months pregnant as at that time)

" What did you prepare for breakfast?" Alex asked.

" I made tea and sandwiches" Ana replied.

" And why did you prepare that?" Alex asked.

" The doctor has advised I always have these for breakfast. He'd given me a food timetable which would be good for myself as well as the baby" Ana replied.

" Are you crazy?" Alex asked with a slap across her face.

" Aaaaaaaaaaaaah" Ana cried in pain.

" And why are you crying? Did I hit you?" Alex asked dragging her by the hair.

" No, no. You didn't" Ana replied crying

" Then can you explain to me why you are crying?" Alex asked before pushing her which made her hit her head on the table.

" Aaaaah, aaah, my baby" Ana cried holding her stomach.

" Miss" Veronica ran to her and made to help her.

" If you help her, then I'll make sure you'll be the one I hit next" Alex said threatening to hit her.

" But sir, she's in a lot of pain. We have to help" Sonya chipped in and the other maids gathered.

" Stand aside or you'll never be able to stand again" Alex said and they stood aside.

" A.... Alex, my baby. My....my baby" Ana groaned in pain holding her stomach.

Alex moved closer to her and bent over so his face was closer to hers. " Does your stomach hurt? " He asked.

" Yes" Ana nodded.

" Should I get you some water?" Alex asked.

" Yes"

" Monica, get some water" Alex ordered and Monica brought some water.

" Here you go sir" she said and gave him the water.

" Here you go sweetie" Alex said and poured the water on her face.

" Aaaaaaah" Ana screamed.

" Don't you want water anymore? Since you only care about your baby and yourself, then I'll have to teach you to care about others" Alex said and dragged Ana by the hair upstairs.

" Alex please, let go" Ana cried. " Let go"

" Keep quiet!" Alex yelled and gave her a slap. At this time, they were both at the last staircase.

" Alex please my baby. My stomach hurts" Ana begged.

" Keep quiet!!" Alex yelled and pushed her off the stairs.

" Aaaaaaaaaaaaah" Ana screamed as she fell down the stairs till she passed out.

" Miss" the maids screamed as they carried her.

" Weakling" Alex sighed and left.

" Come, let's take her to the hospital" Monica suggested.

" First get her conscious." Melanie said

" I'll go get the water" David said and left.

" Be fast!!" Veronica yelled.

" Here you go!" David said and gave the water to Erica.

Erica quickly splashed the water on Ana and she slowly opened her eyes.

" My baby, my baby" Ana cried.

" What's wrong miss? Tell me" that was Veronica.

" My baby" Ana cried. Her forehead was now bleeding.

" Miss, you're bleeding. Let's take care of you first." David said

" No, my baby!! My......." She passed out.

" Let's get her to the hospital"

AT THE HOSPITAL......

" Doctor, how is she?" Sonya asked.

" She has regained consciousness" the doctor replied.

" Can we go see her?" Erica asked.

" Yes but I have bad news. Where is her husband?" The doctor asked.

" He's not here doctor" Melanie replied.

" Okay but please let him try and get here soon" the doctor said and left.

" Let's go see her" they said and ran into her room.

" Miss" Veronica said and embraced her.

" How are you miss" they asked.

" Veronica, I can't feel my baby. Why can't I feel my baby anymore? Answer" Ana cried.

" Ma'am please calm down" the nurse said.

" I should calm down? I don't feel my baby anymore and you expect me to calm down?" Ana asked. " Tell me what happened to my baby, tell me. I wanna know. Te......."

" You had a miscarriage" the doctor walked in.

" No no no. You must be joking right? I couldn't have had a miscarriage. Please tell me you're joking" Ana cried. " I have carried this baby for more than eight months and I'll soon be due for delivery so she can't be dead"

" I'm sorry Mrs Hamilton, we tried our best but we couldn't save the baby" the doctor said.

" Aaaaaaaaaaaaah" Ana screamed.
