Victor’s POV

As I walked into the club, I swiftly scanned the VIP area in search of Anthony. Out of nowhere, a nearly naked woman charged at me, her intentions unmistakable. Filled with irritation, I pushed her aside.

"Why do young women throw themselves at men when they could be earning their own money through hard work?" I glared at her as she wobbled to regain her balance, confusion and shock evident on her face.

Those who witnessed the incident whispered among themselves, but I didn't care about their opinions. Most of the girls already recognize me when I come to the club, so they maintain their lane around me. I enjoy my own company while sipping on my non-alcoholic wine.

I spotted Anthony with two ladies, drinking and gisting and hurried over, hoping they hadn’t noticed my earlier encounter with the other woman, as that would surely be the talk of the day for Anthony.

“Dude, you showed up late,” Anthony said as soon as I arrived, obviously he didn't notice the encounter. I pulled out the available seat next to a curvy, attractive young woman with shiny black short hair.

I greeted the two ladies there, and the one next to me responded by twisting her body in a flirtatious manner.

“What’s up, Anthony?” I asked, raising my voice so he could hear over the loud music.

“Yes, this is Mia and this is Sarah,” Anthony introduced the ladies to me. I shook hands with both of them, but Mia's gaze was really irritating.

“Victor, Sarah is my girl,” he stated, giving me a look that said not to ask any more questions. Anthony is always seen with different women, I just don’t get how he manages to be so at ease with that.

“I told Mia about your situation, and she’s willing to help,” Anthony said again, and fortunately, the music had been lowered, so we didn’t have to shout to communicate.

I glanced at Mia, who gave me a seductive smile that made me uncomfortable. She tried to run her hand down my chest like some kind of prostitute, but I quickly moved away from her.

“I hope you explained the rules to her,” I asked Anthony, noticing his expression change.

“Waiting for you to say it yourself,” he replied, sipping his alcoholic wine, while the lady looked puzzled, obviously Anthony didn't give any better explanation to her.

“The role is just for you to act like my wife in front of my father. We’ll have a court marriage so I can back it up with a marriage certificate,” I explained, and the lady nodded, looking somewhat confused.

“And also, there won’t be any intimacy. You can stay at my house, but in a different room. We’ll live like neighbors inside and like a couple in front of my father,” I continued, trying to sound serious.

The ladies looked at me in shock, and then they both burst out laughing, which only irritated me more.

Why the hell are they laughing?

“You mean I’ll be living with a cute guy like you and there won’t be any strings attached?” Mia asked, and I nodded with a stern expression.

She doesn’t even seem like someone I could live with, she’d definitely want to mess around one day. I wouldn’t be able to control her like I can with Grace.

“Are you impotent or something?” she said again, laughing mockingly.

I was irritated by that comment. When did keeping yourself or abstaining from sex mean you’re impotent?

It frustrated me even more when the two ladies exchanged glances, looked down at my lower half like they were peering into my pants, and laughed.

When I couldn't take that any longer, I angrily stood up and stormed away from them. I can’t deal with a woman who can’t live without sex. I need a modest woman, not one I can’t trust not to bring other men into my house.

As I stormed away, ignoring Anthony’s calls, I bumped into the same lady who had been flirting with me earlier. This time, she was holding a glass of wine, and it spilled all over my white shirt.

What the hell is wrong with this girl again? Is this some kind of revenge or what?

She apologized and tried to help me clean the stain. As she rubbed her handkerchief on my shirt, our eyes locked onto each other.

Should I go for her then, Will she be willing to be my contracted wife?

Our eyes remained locked for a few seconds as she smiled while continuing to rub the handkerchief on my shirt.

I wasn't really enjoying the moment, I was just trying to figure out how to talk to her without her calling me impotent like the other ladies.

"We could go lodge in a room, you know," she said, sliding her hand to my waist in an attempt to pull me closer.

I pushed her away for the second time. Can these ladies just think straight for once? Do they always have to want to sleep with every man?

At that moment, I knew I wouldn't definitely find a modest girl in a club.

“What’s wrong with this ugly-looking thing?” the girl said as she stumbled to her feet, but I ignored her and walked out of the club.

It’s not her fault, I was the one looking for a modest wife in a club.

At that moment, I realized the best thing for me to do was to pursue Grace more. She’s the better choice. She's calm and I can easily control her to do what I want.

“I’m her boss, so I’ll have to make her comply. I know she wouldn’t want to risk losing her job,” I thought as I instructed my driver to start the car while I considered how to draft the contract to present to her for signing the next day.

“I will make her my contracted wife by force” I said slightly above whisper to myself as I let out a deep sigh.

He reached out to let me know they had taken Vera into custody, inviting me to come see her so I could be there during her questioning.I rushed over, anger boiling inside me, ready to lash out at her if I discovered she was hiding Grace.“Victor, if it weren’t for this case, I wouldn’t have seen you in my office,” Taylor said with a laugh as we shook hands.“I was surprised when I heard you got married. What prompted that?” Taylor asked, chuckling.“Let’s drop that, Taylor. We need to focus on why I’m here,” I replied, adjusting my seat.“Right, she’s in the detention area. Let’s

  • Eleven Months As My CEO's Wife   Chapter Twenty-seven

Grace's POVI woke up to the sound of a beeping machine with its cuff wrapped around my arm. A drip was also passed into my veins. “What is happening?” I muttered as I glanced around the room. Seeing two people in the room with me, both receiving drips, made me realize I was in the hospital. I managed to sit up but my head hurts so bad so I lay back on the bed.“How did I get here?” I asked myself but I couldn't remember anything. I closed my eyes deeply, hoping to remember what brought me to the hospital but my mind was blank. Just then, a petite nurse entered the room with a man beside him and walked towards my bed, smiling.“Thank God you are finally awake.” The man said, while I just stared at him, trying to see if I knew him. The nurse moved to the beeping machine, checked the readings and wrote them down in the folder she was holding.“How are you doing ma’am.” She asked me with a smile.“My head hurts. What am I doing in a hospital.” I asked. She reassured me to calm down a

Don’t judge me; she was beginning to suspect that I was being dishonest, and I didn’t want to be harsh with her over the questions she kept asking. The only option I had was to leave the house. When I returned, all my security personnel rushed toward me, their faces marked by somber expressions and fear. They kept their heads bowed, avoiding gaze with me as they welcomed me.“What's the problem?” I asked, my eyes scanning all of them. They began to stammer, none of them was able to speak up. I got fed up and decided to leave them, instructing their head to get back to me whenever they finally decided to tell me what the problem was.The sight that greeted me when I entered my house sent a chill down my spine; all my maids were trembling with fear at the mere sight of me. This wasn’t how it used to be. Although they feared me, it was never to the point of shaking just fro
