Future Duke worries

Henry Red’s POV:

I never married. All my life, I was treated with care, people made me feel that I am fragile when I was younger. My father did not want me around commoners children because he said I have to study well and exercise my authority at a young age. He said I was above them, that I was special and that so much was expected of me.

Maybe that was how he was raised.

Father was a just man and he is a fair ruler. Even the king and queen would honor his wisdom and even as young child, I have seem the highest royal visit our manor to seek my father’s advice. He is loved dearly for his wisdom and he wanted me to be just like him.

But no two persons are the same.

I studied hard, I train hard because that was my birthright. My father had raised me even without my mother, she died shortly after I was born and the duke of the Red manor never remarried. I honestly think that he did not want to because he was thinking about me.

But it was not the reason why father remained a widower.
