CH 23 || One Chance

I got up with the sounds coming from my room. I found myself in a different surrounding and then I remembered that I slept outside my room last night in order to make sure that she is fine.

Getting up from the floor, I went inside the room. Hearing my footsteps, she turned around and got terrified. Didn't she recognize me, I thought.

She scooted to the corner of the room just like yesterday, I tried to go to her but she got more terrified and as a result, I had to move back.

Looks like we were back again to square 1.

"Muffin," I called her and all she was trying to do is hiding the bracelet from me as if I was there to steal it.

"Muffin, I won't hurt you. Just please look at me once." She obliged after a while but it took a lot of convincing.

"Do you recognize me? We met yesterday, do you remember me?" I asked hoping for her to nod in affirmative but she was just staring at me with her doe eyes without even blinkin
