Chapter Nineteen

The sun was just peeking over the treetops when Kira cautiously slipped out of bed, being careful not to disturb Edwin.  He’d had a troubled sleep, tossing, turning, and mumbling illegible words through the night; only settling down a few hours ago.  She was concerned about what troubled him, but didn’t want to awaken him to ask. She hoped he wasn’t having second thoughts and regrets about professing his love for her.  She couldn’t imagine being without him now that he’d come into her life.
