I have a heir

The night wasn't pleasant, as the other nights as everyone went to bed early again for the fear of being attacked or seen by the ones who cause fear. They all dreaded an unfortunate encounter with the creatures of the night who causes nothing but fear and panic.

There was no one moving around or outside their houses even though it was still the early hours of eight, except Bethany who sat by the door outside the comfort of her house.

She folded her legs to her chest and her head resting on her knees, sobbing quietly. The cold breeze resting on her skin caused her to shiver, but that was the least of her concern as all she could think of was her baby, inside the locked house.

The man of her dreams had suddenly become the man of her worst nightmare after she gave birth to her baby. He suddenly becames a different person.

Before they got married, a lot of people warned her against marrying him but, she went ahead with the marriage. Her husband had a dark side that she had never prayed to witness. He was a master of manipulation and emotional abuse, making her suffer in ways she never thought possible.

From belittling her in public to controlling her finances. Every day was filled with a new challenge. He even went as far as to threaten her with physical violence. No matter what she did, she was always left feeling broken and defeated.

Her husband had created a living nightmare that she was too powerless to escape. She cried solemnly, her hands and feet were extremely cold.

The Misty mountains, a town known for it existing beast that takes the human form at day and roam about in the night in a wolf form, looking for humans to rip their hearts. This made the town heads bring out laws to stop the disappearance and killing of people by these this beasts.

The first rule is that no one is permitted to stay out as soon as it is dusk. Then secondly, no one is permitted to see the creatures or even have anything to do with them. And the last rule is that no one is permitted to let go of the beast when they see them.

The third rule is the most impossible rule because these beasts are way more powerful than the humans and would kill them instead.

The beasts always come out from the woods at six pm, until the next morning when the sun is about to rise. This made nights to become the people's nightmare.

Bethany heard the bushes rattled and looked towards the woods. She swallowed, as she stood up slowly with her gaze fixed at the woods. Her heart began to throb fast, waiting for whatever would come out of the woods. Maybe the night beast? She caught a glimpse of one of a pair of red orbs glimmering in the night and stumbled away. Luckily for her, the door opened as she leaned towards it. She fell back into her home frightened.

"I opened the door for you, just because of your child." her husband said with a straight face, staring at her with disgust and left the door to go back to writing his report.

She felt warmth in her heart and a sense of relief as she crossed the threshold and found herself in the safety of her home. She ran to her baby and picked him up from his cot to breastfeed him.

Little did Bethany know that the creature she had seen that night was an Alpha of the beasts living among them. He is the most dangerous creature and most feared werewolf among the werewolves.

He was known for his unprecedented attack on people. An alpha without a heart, one as cold as ice, who doesn't have any emotion in him except anger.

....

The werewolves courtyard.......

For more than ten centuries, the werewolves suffered a great curse that had greatly destroyed their lands and made them vulnerable. They were surrounded by enemies who were ready to take over their lands at any chance. Their main enemies are the Nightmares. A group of rogue werewolves.

The nightmares were getting powerful each passing day and this was becoming a cause of worry to the pure-blooded werewolves. The wolves feared that their ruin will come to an end soon without an heir from Jordan.

They tried to talk to him but as always, he wouldn't give a listening ear. This made then decide to have a meeting and know what to do to save themselves from the lurking danger.

"Where is the Alpha?" Bolto, head of the elders council, asked.

Immediately those words left his mouth, the sounds of a dashing horse clamoured. Everyone present in the courtyard, looked towards the entrance as the white horse rode in, with the man who causes chills on everyone skin, riding it. Well, no one enters the courtyard with a horse, but now the alpha of all Alphas. The crazy wolf does everything he wants his own way.

"He is here." One of the alphas said and every werewolves present, stood up to bow to him.

He is young and many of the werewolves present, were older than him, but his authority and capacity was feared among the werewolves. Not even his enemies can withstand him.

Bolto walked closer to him and bowed his head to him. "Greetings to the alpha of all Alphas. We acknowledge your presence in this meeting." he greeted not daring to raise his head up.

The alpha studied everyone's faces and was satisfied with the fear he inflicted on them. He looked at Bolto coldly, causing his feet to go numb. "What is this I am hearing Bolto? You all have the audacity to think of getting a heir when I am still alive?" he asked with a flat voice that sent shivers through their bodies.

No one replied. They weren't ready to lose their heads if they annoy the alpha with their reply. They were all scared to say anything and so the courtyard was as silent as a graveyard. "Answer me!!" he thundered.

Bolto, being the eldest, sighed and raised his head. This is now or never, he thought. He has to tell the alpha about it even though it means losing his life.

"You heard right Alpha," he replied and looked down. "The council has decided to find another heir to the throne of our nation since you have forbidden yourself from getting an offspring." He replied, waiting for what the Alpha would do to him for speaking the truth.

He laughed out menacingly when Bolto said that. Bolto had to move back, as fear suddenly gripped him again. The Alpha is really scary, when he laughs, or when he smiles and mostly when he is angry.

"Thinking about taking my place huh?" Jordan smirked. "Is this your way to take my throne away?"

Bolto quickly went on his knees with his head to the ground. "I apologize, Alpha. We only made that decision because of the prophecy."

"What makes you think I can't have a child?" The Alpha asked, amused.

"I didn't say that, my lord. I am only worried and thinking about the well-being of the purebloods." he denied immediately. He was frightened and was sweaty, because of what the Alpha's next move on him will be.

Jordan climbed down his horse and stood before Bolto who felt suffocated and his world stopped moving.

"And I am that evil Alpha who doesn't care at all about the pure-bloods?" he asked and laughed out loud.

He was being sarcastic as he felt insulted by the words of Bolto. He has a different plan that he couldn't tell them yet and would only be revealed to them at the right time.

"Well, if you all care to know, I have a heir." he said with a deadpanned face.

Loud gasps escapes the lips of everyone as they all turned their gazes to Jordan. He has an heir?
