A shadow!

"Bethany!" His voice jerked her out of her thought and she gasped loudly.

She had thought she died but it was all in her head. She was still standing by the door and her husband was staring at her as if she was going crazy.

He got hold of her wrist and held her tight, hurting her. "Do you have to yell out to everyone that you are out here?"

She tried pulling her hand from his grip but he was stronger than her.

"Don't you dare shout it out or complain cause the next time, I would lock you up in the basement." he warned and went back in.

She looked back at the woods but the beast was gone. He wasn't there anymore. She breathed out deeply and went back in.

"I opened the door for you, just because of your child." her husband said with a straight face, staring at her with disgust and left the door to go back to writing his report.

She felt warmth in her heart and a sense of relief as she crossed the threshold and found herself in the safety of her home. She ran to her baby and picked him up from his cot to breastfeed him.

....

"Bethany.....Bethany....Bethany...." a voice, called her name in a whisper.

It was the middle of the night. Her room was dark and quiet, except the whisper which could be heard.

Bethany tossed her head feeling uncomfortable. However, she couldn't feel anyone's presence around.

The call. The whisper. What are all these?

She jerked her eyes open, and breathed out heavily. It was as though she had been holding her breath. She took in deep breaths and breathed out, trying to steady her heartbeat.

When she was better, her mind wondered to her dream. What was the meaning of that? Who called her? She was locked in an empty dark room in the dream and could only hear her name being called in a whisper. She turned on the dimmed lamp beside her, instantly brightening the room. She shined it to her little baby who was beside her, only to see him staring at her, while sucking his thumb. He cooed and smiled.

That smile created warmth in her heart. She suddenly forgot about her dream and that voice, as she stared at her baby boy. She dropped the lamp beside her and carried him from the bed.

"Oh my baby. How long have you been awake?" she asked and kissed his forehead while he cooed again. "My cutie pie." she looked out the window. "Do you want to see the moon?" she asked and climbed down from the bed, with her baby held carefully in her arms. She wore her slippers and went to the window. She looked at the sky and took in a deep breath.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" she asked and looked at her baby who was staring back at her. "Sebby, do you know you are more beautiful than the sky?" She smiled and kissed his forehead again.

Fourteen months ago, when she found out that she was pregnant, she was so confused and disturbed. It was a drunk night. Her husband came back home, celebrating a new deal he acquired. He brought home a bottle alcoholic wine for the celebration.

Then, he wasn't the way he was. He was all caring towards her, even though they didn't have the best relationship, but he wasn't hurting her so much.

She got drunk and didn't remember anything again. When she woke up, she found herself in the room, naked on the bed. Her husband came in to the room and told her that he had the best night ever. Two weeks later, she found out that she was pregnant. But it all seems weird to her as she couldn't remember what happened and couldn't tell if she lost her virginity or not.

Ever since they got married, her husband never slept with her so why would he do so when she was drunk and couldn't remember anything?

Five months ago when she gave birth to her son, Sebastian, her husband, Edward, changed towards her. He revealed his true self and will always say he hates her. He beats her up whenever he gets drunk and would always insult her.

She wanted to leave, but for the sake of her son who would suffer for her decision she decided to stay back and endure the pain her husband brings to her.

She remembered how much love she and Edward had for each other and the promise he made to her. It was all a lie so he could get married to her. Her marriage become a place of regret and she wished she never got married.

Her family had convinced her to marry Edward because he was rich. She had married him for a platter of gold which she had not enjoyed. Her family are now far away from her since her marriage because she relocated with her husband. She had no one to talk to and no one to run to.

Now, the only person she could call family is the little boy in her arms. She looked at her son and smiled. She wanted to hate him. She wanted to blame the little harmless child for her problem, but she couldn't. Since he was born, things changed. Even during his birth, she thought she would die.

First of all, the complications she had to go through when she was carrying the baby. She was so weak that she couldn't push the baby out and was made to undergo CS to give birth to her baby. Now, she is faced with an unloving husband. Everything became worst for her.

Bethany smiled but when she sensed a presence, the smile disappeared. The same way she felt when that beast was staring at her came back to her. Her heart was throbbing fast as she could feel the danger lurking around.

She looked down and saw a shadow. He was back.

Her heartbeat increased faster as she tried to see who it was, standing in the woods. Why was the beast after her? She wanted to move but her feet were rooted to the ground.

She held her baby tightly in her hand trying to protect him but her strength would never measure up to his.

Baby Sebby looked towards the woods too and cooed. His eyes met with the dark man in the forest. The dark man's eyes were crimson red and suddenly, Sebby's eyes turned red too.

"S..Sebastian," Bethany called as her heart crawled out of her chest.
