CHAPTER FOUR

DAPHNEY'S POV

I got into my apartment , after the usual pleasantries with my only companion...my dog. I took my bathe because I was very tired. The shower ran through my hair, touching every part of my skin, penetrating into my bones. I came out some minutes later. I slide into my pyjamas, dried my hair and wore my Dunlop as I headed out. Jack trailed at my feet wagging it's tail.

My stomach grumbled as I hurried to the kitchen.I glanced at my kitchen.

"Daphney...you really need a house help." I said to myself glancing at my well furnished but empty kitchen.

I was too tired to cook, besides I have no foodstuffs at home,I was busy throughout the week,even most of the time I take coffee or any light and quick food. I took the cornflakes I kept in my shelf and poured some into the plate, adding milk and sugar and of course...water .

I ate it on my way to the sitting room. I noticed Jack was silent. I looked at it.

"Ohh...my bad! Sorry baby....I forgot your food, no wonder you were looking at me in a weird way". I said as it barked like it knows what I was talking about. I poured dog indomie into it's plate as it wagged its tail thanking me.

"You're welcome...". I said patting its head. I resumed back to my cornflakes as I folded my legs on the chair like a monk. I took the remote and switched on the TV .

"C'mon... Jacintha I love you forever ". The man on TV said, holding the lady's hand. She blushed as I looked at them in disgust. I changed the channel.

"Will you marry me?". A man in the TV said.

And she actually said "yes" .

"Women and love....men and their lies". I scoffed changing the channel again .

And guess what... it's all the same.

"No...way,why are they showing all these stupid love and commitment stuff". I said angrily changing the channel again but nothing changed.

I guess the TV is not working for in favor tonight. I smirked.

Then my phone rang.

"Hi...." I said as I picked it

"Hey... Daphney, how're you doing?"

"Fine thank you...and you?" I said trying to be cool.

" I'm okay... I'm Okay....I just wanna hear your beautiful voice"

I rolled my eyes and removed the phone from my ear,I made weird and dirty faces towards the phone. Even though he won't see it, I'm still mad at him for calling me.

"Hello ..are you there?" He said

"Yeah...yes..I am." I cleared my throat

"How about tomorrow night?" He asked

"What's happening tomorrow night?"I said pretending not to be aware of what he's talking about.

" C'mon babe... don't tell me you forgot...our special night...I mean the date,me and you only..."

"Hello...I can't hear you...if you can hear me...I really can't hear you... hello... hello" I said and disconnected the call. I pretended again,I heard him perfectly . I knew he was gonna try to call back I switched my phone to airplane mode.

This is all Diana's fault, I'll make sure I deal with her later. I grunted as I took my empty plate to the kitchen to wash it . I took Jack's plate too placing it where it is supposed to be. I headed back to my room and slept off .
