Chapter 4

RAMSEY.

A part of me didn't want to see her hurt, but each time I recalled how she betrayed me with a rival alpha, I had no reason not to let her suffer the pains she caused me.

When I inhaled her scent and went after her behind the palace building, I intended to order her back to the slave quarters quickly before anyone saw her. I hated that by facing her that moment, my wolf stirred, and a feeling I thought had been lost in me awakened again.

I wanted to pull her to myself, to have her melt under me while I ravished her lips hungrily. She was the woman who picked up my broken pieces and put them together, and I wouldn't forget that…but it now felt like she was on a mission in my life, regardless that we were mates.

The matebond was still there. I dared not reject her…not when just staring at her lips could calm my wolf.

But tonight, I honestly wanted to do more than stare at her. We were broken, but the matebond was too strong for denial. Even though she brought those divorce papers to my office, I still saw a flicker of feelings for me in her eyes.

Anna still loved me…But I can't tell if I still do so to her. I hate that she stabbed me from behind and still claims to be innocent despite all the evidence before her. Maybe, if she had accepted her crimes, I could have made up with her instead of taking back Nina just to soothe myself in the wrong way.

I stared at her bleeding back from behind, and tears welled in my eyes.

I should have stopped Nina back there. But, won't that show how foolish I was?

What man would have mercy for the woman who betrayed him?

Or, I should have lessened her punishment. It was just a trespass and not that she was a criminal.

Now, she was going to stay there until dawn? Serves her right. She would need to know that we had nothing together again…

Who would even believe that when I didn't reject her, or did I agree to sign the divorce papers? As much as I try to hate her more and more, a part of me wants to pull her into my arms.

Goddess! I missed her so much.

I didn't care if she was a human, or a wolfless werewolf…All I needed was her back then. Why did she have to go the extra mile with my enemy?

She looked around as if searching for someone, and I knew she must have felt my aura.

With a clenched chest, I turned back and headed to the palace building. The more I stayed there, I blamed myself for punishing someone who went against the law.

As I stepped into my room, I saw Nina seated on the bed with her legs crossed while she scrolled through her cell phone. I can't recall ever telling her to make her way to my master's bedroom since she returned to me.

“Why are you dressed that way?” I called for her attention.

She was almost naked. The lingerie she wore was so transparent that I could see the shape and color of her hard nipple.

I took a deep gulp and looked away. Although I had accepted her back after she apologised and gave reasons why she left me back then, I still don't have any feelings for her.

The more I tried, she disgusted me. All I wanted was to have someone by myself, and I thought welcoming her again would make it possible to forget about Anna and develop the amount of hatred I was supposed to have for her. But no, it didn't work that way.

I craved Anna so much, and I took Nina in to sate those cravings while having Anna's face linger in my mind, her moans ringing in my ears.

No matter how hard I tried, our bond kept getting stronger despite the enmity.

I felt her touch on my cheek and shuddered. Shaking my head out of my daze, I said to her, “I ordered you not to step your feet in here. If I want to be with you, I'll come to meet you.”

“For how long is that law going to be? It's not like you spend time with me all the time. You only show up when you have that sex urge. Am I just a tool to sate your desire?” Her eyes were pinned on my face.

I scoffed. She was finding out already.

The last time we had sex was seven months ago, and on that day, while I was cumming, I moaned Anna’s name continuously like she was taking over me.

Nina didn't confront me. She said it was because we just broke up.

But that was a fat lie. It was Anna who my body and soul wanted…it was her I thought about and got hard at, but had to calm myself with her body instead.

“I am going to be your Luna soon. You can't keep staying away from me. I should know every nook and cranny in the master bedroom. Besides, that wench stayed here with you. Isn't it?” she added, her voice becoming irritating. “Alpha Ramsey, have you not forgiven me yet? Don't tell me you still have feelings for her?”

“Is that why you dressed this way? To seduce me?” I cut her crap. Whether I still had feelings for my ex or not should have nothing to do with her. Besides, she too broke my heart in the past, and even though I forgave her, I still made it clear to her that it doesn't mean I loved her again like in the past.

She agreed and promised to keep her boundary until I developed that feeling for her…which I was sure would never happen.

Goddess forgave me, but I was toying with her heart. Maybe paying her back for what she did to me.

Making her my Luna would make no difference to me. I just needed to secure my throne by having Luna. But how I would have a child is what I'm yet to know. I'd rather hire a surrogate than have Nina bear me a child.

She closed the distance between us, her fingers tangling in my beard. “Is not what you think. It's been months already, and I miss you so much. I don't see anything bad coming in here…but if you insist, why not always frequent my room? We can still go there now and…

“You know I can't frequent your room when I'm always busy. Just like now, I need to take a long rest and not…fucking some pùssy." I retorted and tried to walk past her, but she held my hand.

“Fućking some pùssy?” she approached again. “Alpha, aren't you yet to regard me? You said I could treat Anna however I like, except for taking her life. I am here to heal your broken heart, so why avoid me?”

My mouth opened and shut again.

“Although you moan her name while fućking me, it's still my pùssy that calms you. It's still it that secretes those lubricants for your dićk. It's still my moans that you hear…and the same pùssy stretched to contain your huge dićk….

“It's okay!” I shut her up. What the fùck was wrong with her? “When you broke my heart, she nurtured it. So what's hard about nurturing my heart now? I told you that I don't love you, so if you can't maintain that boundary, then you fùcking leave.”

Her eyes turned watery, and I didn't care. If she hadn't left me, I wouldn't have met Anna either. She started everything.

“Do not try to seduce me again, and do not come in here without my order.” My voice rose even though I tried to keep it low. I gestured towards the door, my jaw tightened, “Now leave. When I need you, I'll come for you myself.”

I brushed shoulders with her and headed towards the wardrobe.

Unsure how long she stood, but I heard the sound of the door slamming behind her. In just a blink, my tears rolled down.

‘Release my mate, you jerk. I told you she's innocent, but you refused. If she dies there, I'll make your life miserable.’

I scoffed at my wolf. He's been saying this for two years now.

‘Ramsey, I hate you for always watching my mate pass through hell. Don't you know how I miss her? Save her now!’

I managed to ignore him and later pulled a bottle of brandy to wind myself up, but along the way, I lost it.

A heavy pain slammed the back of my head as if I had been hit with a brick. My vision blurred, and I couldn't even see the table to drop the glass I was holding.

I almost screamed; rather, I bit my finger and strangled the couch pillow and flew it away.

My heart throbbed against my ribcage. Sweat covered my forehead.

“Stop already!!” I yelled at my wolf, but he didn't listen.

For two years, I'd always ignored him, until now.

What the heck!

My joints began hurting so bad I couldn't feel my bones again.

The door clicked open, and I perceived my beta's scent.

“Alpha? You called me…”

I knew it. My wolf did, not me.

“Are you okay?” he asked, touching my head. “You're burning…”

“Nicholas, please, go get Anna away from the snow. Make sure you heal her and she feeds well. Have the mistress freshen her up and let her get a sound night's sleep.”

One would think I was the one speaking, whereas it was my wolf leading the command.

“Yes, Alpha.”

As the shut again, dizziness swelled in my head and my limbs gave out.
