Alpha Lucas’s POV

I smiled and buried my face in my pillow after Emma left my room. We had a nice time together, just cuddling and talking about everything and nothing.

I stood up from the bed, wanting to grab a cup of water, when I noticed Emma’s necklace was on the floor. I had given the necklace to her when she came back to the pack. I took the necklace from the floor. I knew Emma hadn’t gone far, and I could leave it until morning, but I wanted to see her again.

I smiled at the thought of never having her out of my sight. I miss her when she leaves, even for just a minute. I quickly dashed out of my room and walked out of my chambers. I hastened my steps because I didn’t want to reach the slave chambers before I could catch up with her.

I looked at the moon, and it was almost full. The thought of sitting under the moon with her crossed my mind, and I smiled wider. My smile suddenly died when I saw Emma on her knees with a knife pointed at her neck. I furrowed my brows immediately
