Chapter 49
Anna immersed herself in the warm water, her lips pressed into a thin line as realization began to dawn in. What was going to happen now?
Were her plans changing, or were they to remain the same? She didn’t know. Leone had touched her, she had let him, after he clarified that he wasn’t getting married to Erica and the painting she had seen him staring at belonged to his mother.
Now that she thought about it, there was a huge possibility that Domenico and Leone had different mothers. Was that why they never got along? Probably.
Well, that aside, what was she going to do now? Although he had touched her last night, there wasn’t any clarity between them concerning what they were—or would there have been if that person hadn’t interrupted them, interrupted him?
Was it okay if she asked him? More importantly, the big question: what did she want? A forbidden relationship with him when she would soon be engaged to his brother? Certainly not! Or did she like him? Does she have feelings for Leone? Despite the fact that he’s nothing short of a full-blown psychopath, no, right?
Wasn’t it only a few days ago she came to peace with herself that she wasn’t in love with Rocco anymore? So how could she suddenly have feelings for Leone? But what if she did? Does Leone have feelings for her too?
Well, he once said he liked her—could she hold on to that? Especially when he had made reference to steaks, which he likes to eat bit by bit rather than going for a direct kill. Good lord, this man was no short of insane, but yet, he had this irresistible charm—something which she couldn’t resist, something that made her knees weaken.
Leone was no short of handsome. Smart… well, she could say that. Underneath his psychopathic nature lay a shrewd genius, one who surpassed the expectations of everyone in the mafia clan. But there was something about him that drew people to him. He was like a force, an irresistible magnet—sinister in every fuckin’ way.
Even if she liked him, was it smart to jeopardize everything? Throw away her last chance of escaping this bitter life, this pain-filled mask her father had forced her to wear? Real question was—would he still want to have anything to do with her once he finds out she’s adopted? Once he finds out she’s here to wipe out the Vincenzo mafia empire? Or when he finds out how dirty she truly is?
Anna took a deep breath in, wishing she had someone to talk to about all of this—wishing things were far from the way they were now. If anything, being around him made her feel safe, made her feel like she could hide from everything and he could shield her from all the demons that threatened to rip her apart.
Anna stared at her hands in the water. Was she allowed to feel too, like everyone else? Did she deserve to be loved?
Her eyes moistened, a streak of tear falling down her ocean-blue eyes, rolling down her chin only to disappear in the pool of water.
………
Now draped in an expensive chiffon dress, Anna walked next to Fabbio Salvatore, the Don’s acquaintance and Erica’s father. Now that she noticed, Erica must have obtained her chirping self from her father, as he also seemed to talk without a break.
“I heard you and Erica had a splendid time together. If only you could meet my son, Alessandro—a good friend of Leone—you would absolutely love him!” He cleared his throat. “In a friendly way, that is,” he clarified, not wanting to have his head chopped from his neck.
Anna nodded, a polite smile on her lips, her shoulders stiff as she hoped for Leone to come. While she had been in her room, his guard had fetched her, saying Leone wanted her to have breakfast with this man.
The more time she spent with him, the more she realized he wasn’t so bad after all. They reached the fancy restaurant, which was reserved for them alone, making her feel apprehensive even when he hadn’t overstepped his boundaries.
He pulled a chair out for her and Anna made herself comfortable before he sat across from her. A waiter came in moments later to bring in their food. Anna’s eyes were fixed on the mouth-watering delicacies.
“Tell me about Russia, Anna. Surely you must have visited the fanciest places there.” Fabbio picked up the cutlery and began eating from his food.
Anna’s grip on her fork tightened. She wondered how his reaction would be if he were to find out she had lived the life of a slave all her life.
They both continued chatting, and Anna eventually headed back to her room, but not before making a quick stop to ask Leone’s bodyguards about his whereabouts.
After getting his room number from them, Anna decided to head to his room, her steps slow as she memorized what she was going to say to him.
After thinking a lot about it, she had decided to come clean about her feelings. Her hands had turned clammy, her heart pounded in her ribcage.
Beads of sweat formed on her forehead, her hands shook fervently as she held the door handle. Surprisingly, the door was left open.
She’d have pushed it further, she’d have stepped in—if it weren’t for the noises she heard coming from the room.
Her eyes flew wide, her chest tightened, and for a moment there, the air felt too thick to breathe in. Her hand weakly slipped away from the door handle, the loud sounds of slapping skin infiltrating her eardrums.
She staggered backwards, nearly losing her footing if she hadn’t held the wall in time. The moans and groans from the two people who were having sex grew louder and louder with each passing second.
Her heart fell, shattering into bits. What a fool she had been. She scoffed bitterly, quickly dashing away—like she was never there to begin with.
Chapter 50Dressed in a crisp black suit, Leone stepped out of his car, his eyes lifeless, face stoic as he slammed the door shut. His guard had sent him urgent information earlier this morning immediately after he left Anna’s bathroom. He had left the hotel immediately in order to attend to this, else everything he was working towards here would have been completely jeopardized. He checked the time on the golden wristwatch that adorned his wrist. He couldn’t wait to finish up whatever he had to do here so he could get back to his Peach.A sleek Bugatti pulled up right in front of him. A tall, handsome figure stepped out dressed in a dark red suit, face stoic, dark red hair, eyes as black as a dark endless abyss.“Took you long enough, Alessandro,” Leone rolled his eyes, and Alessandro began heading inside the large building made of dark gray walls.Leone followed suit, his eyes taking in his surroundings and the suspicious people who moved in and out of it, his jaw ticking.“You gav

Chapter 48Her eyes fluttered open, a yawn stifled out of her lips—it was morning already. She tried to move, but something heavy held her down. It was then she felt his back pressed against hers and his hand wrapped firmly around her waist. Her cheeks flushed red as the memory of his finger on her core stayed fresh in her mind. Her cheeks burned, realization hitting her with full force. She gulped softly and then placed her hands on his large one that held her waist firmly. She carefully tried to lift his hand from her waist without waking him up, because she’d die of embarrassment if he were to wake up and find them in such a position. Not like he hadn’t done far worse things to her, but she didn’t want him seeing her like this. Right now, all she wanted was to get far away from him.She tried to push his hand away, but it was just too heavy, and with her frame perfectly molded against his, she finally realized how small she was compared to him.Despite how heavy he was, she managed
Chapter 47Anna’s eyes flew wide, a loud moan tore through her lips at the unexpected action. His hot tongue sucking and licking her honeypot, her breathing ragged, her hand flew to his hair to tug it.She felt her body sink further into the bed, she badly wanted to clamp her legs shut but his large frame between them made it impossible. She pushed her waist up, finding any sort of escape from it all, but his strong hands held them down and Anna cried in pleasure. She was so wet down there, but none of her wetness touched the bed because Leone’s mouth took them all. His tongue teasing her pleasure spot made her writhe and cum even more.“Leone please…” she muttered, but she didn’t know what exactly she was begging for, because it was definitely not for him to stop. Her hands flew to her mouth, trying to stifle the loud moan that threatened to burst out. He raised his head to stare at her, his eyes vivid with hunger and traces of her wetness on his sinful lips. His tongue peeked out of
Good day y'all, I just wanted to thank you all for giving out time to read my book and I want to say a few ofher things also. Firstly, this isn't like a straight out romance book. As you must have observed, the female lead is a very contradicted character due to the burdens she carries. There will be a lot of plot twists, and it's a long ride. Also, this isn't an erotica and for those of you who love slow burn romance then I got you covered. I'm really thankful for giving this book a chance and I hope to see your comments too❤️
Chapter 4610pm, Anna's hotel room....Anna’s petite frame stood in front of the large window where she peeked at what was going on on the ground floor. It was Leone. A lot of his guards had been driving in non-stop, and he stood there, making a phone call. Anna gulped, feeling perplexed already. What was going on? Had something happened? Would they have to return back to Italy earlier than planned? If that was the case, it was a huge blow to her plans of escaping. She had come so close, and now it was like she was far yet again. Her eyes remained fixed on Leone, who had his back facing her, and suddenly he turned, like he had felt her staring. Her heart raced as his eyes held hers, like a magnetic force trying to pull her from the ground she now stood on. He tore his gaze from her, taking long strides back into the hotel.Anna began pacing about, her hands turned clammy, her head was a mess. As she had thought, Leone walked into her room. The locks the hotel had installed to prevent
