Night after night I curled myself up in a ball just to provide any sort of warmth for myself. I had been left to rot and die in the cold cell without food, water or a wild to protect me from the harsh weather and survival conditions.

"Treason is an offense that needs no trial," Fidel had said to me shattering any hope I had to defend myself before the council.

I had rushed to the terrace that day because Fidel had sent me a text to come quickly, I had looked for an opportunity to be alone with him because I had found out recently that I was with child and I wanted to break the news to him first before telling anyone else.

"Why have you chosen this fate for me?" I yelled with what little strength that I didn't have.

I held in for the sake of the little one growing inside of me, I had not had the courage to tell Fidel—I feared he was going to eliminate my child the way he did his father and probably planned to do with me eventually.
