Axel PoVThat was the thing about mad, powerful men. They are never predictable. And Maximo was definitely a mad and powerful man. He could have easily sent a messenger that he’d found Lisa, and I wouldn’t have to lose my mind about the coming carnage, which, apparently was never coming. I was pissed. On top of that, I failed, which meant I had a debt to owe. I owed a madman.Then, he’d tried to instigate Klaus and me to fight him, knowing fully well that we stood no chance of winning. Axel PoVWatching Klaus and Lisa tell the same story, yet, it was obvious that one of them was lying was quite unsettling. It was difficult to tell if Klaus was lying, but Lisa’s was obvious. The question was, why is she lying? That could only mean Klaus was also lying.I understood that part, but what I absolutely did not understand was why Klaus would put the pack in danger. Klaus PoV“You take the one on the right, I’ll go left,” Axel whispered, “remember, we’re not here to start a war, so only knock them out. Maximo can do his dirty work by himself.”Axel and I were at the borders of the Yellowstone pack, and, as expected, it was heavily guarded by the wolves from the Ortho Pack. The task Maximo gave us was delicate. We couldn’t just waltz through the front door to present an offer to the pack.
