Elise

It was almost twilight, and I hadn't ventured out of the room, ever since we returned from the woods.

I lay curled up on my bed, reading through a magazine I had found on Lazarus's table. It was on wildlife.

A knock came at the door at that moment, and I sat up. "Come in."

The door pushed open, and a cautious looking Jenny walked in.

"Why are you looking around like a scaredy cat? Come on in." I smiled, gesturing my hands.

She reciprocated, and shutting the door behind her, she walked over to me. "You're all alone?" She asked, taking a place beside me on the bed.

"Yeah. I had been with Lazarus moments ago, but he had excused himself." I replied, dropping the magazine.

"How was the race?" She asked after a moment's silence.

I studied her face, before giving a reply. She looked pale.

"Is anything wrong? You look different. The race was fine though." I didn't turn my gaze away, and continued looking closely at her instead.

the author seems to be unsure of what story style to use and is using all of them which isn't helpful and is very confusing to what the story is about
