My footsteps faltered. Who said that? I pull my hand out of Alrich’s and look around. I spin in a circle, hoping to find the source of the voice, even though common sense tells me that there is no one who said it. I look towards the trees, nothing. I look towards the pyres, nothing. Toby’s POVRae starts to drop from her horse. I don’t know what comes over me but I feel fear for the second time today. Rae’s POVI feel cold. Bone shaking, joint screaming, cold. I can feel my teeth chattering and I shiver. I’m afraid to open my eyes but I don’t know why.Did I leave a window open? Why am I so cold? The day of my party has arrived. I am now officially 16. I haven’t been allowed to go to my house since Em and Erin say that the decorations are a surprise.
