Rae’s POV I open my eyes to bright light. I look around and find myself in a field. Did I die? My heart breaks realizing that I am not going to see my husbands or my children. I slowly stand up and weave my hands through the grass. I glance around when I feel a presence around me. A Few Months LaterFlashback to the day after.I wake up hoping that last night is all just a really bad dream. There is no way that Chris will hurt me like that. We’ve been best friends forever. I’m covered in sweat. I can feel my hair drenched in it. I look up at Mama’s surprised face, eyes wide. I’m having difficulty breathing.
