Pregnancy test kit

"Make some mango sorbet for her!" Alessandro's voice kept ringing in my head since I started cooking for Evelyn. Even Carl was shocked when Evelyn kept rejecting all the food I cooked for her and kept whining to Alessandro.

The entire kitchen counter was filled with unfinished dishes that she didn't even touch once. However, to make her happy, Alessandro kept pestering me to cook for them.

The more I stayed near the kitchen, cooking food, the worse my nausea turned.

After preparing the sorbet, I walked into the dining room once again. My ankles were hurting after wearing high heels. My time to act like Evelyn had finished, but I forgot to take them off, out of habit.

"Here is the sorbet!" I placed the bowl on the table, watching Alessandro's warm expression that was only for his first love.

It felt like a cliché movie, watching another person's life. However, it was a bit heartbreaking that he would rather wait for her than move on.

"Finally!" She looked at me, her smirk deepening. "One thing you have done correctly!"

She said, her lips reaching the spoonful of sorbet. There was that smirk that could provoke people in the wrong way. But I was used to this kind of person, so I didn't say anything.

I took a glance at Alessandro. He didn't even touch the food. "Do you want me to reheat your steak?" I asked quietly.

"Nah!" He pushed the plate away. "I will ask Carol to make something for me!" he said, his nose scrunched up with disgust.

He was disgusted by the food, not knowing that I had been the one who had been cooking his food.

But I said nothing. I nodded quietly before turning towards the kitchen. However, I couldn't leave when Evelyn asked,

"Scarlet! Are you upset that I didn't eat your food? I apologize. But I can't eat random foods!"

I faced her and then looked at the plates which she didn't touch once. "It's fine. I can't blame you. It's natural to reject food at this time!"

Her eyebrows arched with confusion. "What do you mean by at this time!? Scarlet!" Her voice turned colder.

Alessandro looked at me with those dark gazes that held a clear warning. He didn't want to ruin his mood, already ruined by Evelyn's constant mention of her mate.

"Sorry. I didn't mean anything bad. Ms. Evelyn has been with your mate in Northern Valley Pack. The meals there are different than ours. So, I should have been more considerate. Also, I tried to follow their recipe!"

Evelyn's face turned bright red. She looked at Alessandro, who finally took a bit of attention to the meal I prepared.

"That's true!" he muttered. "This scent is distinct!" He shoved the small piece of cold steak and narrowed his eyes. "You okay? Evelyn?"

"I...!" Evelyn bit her bottom lip while trying to find any suitable words.

"Maybe I failed to bring the flavor. Would you like me to prepare some Ginger Chicken with Sichuan Pepper? It's their signature dish!"

"She can't eat spicy food!" Alessandro defended her, stopping me from saying another word.

I nodded quietly. "Then I will take my leave. Please enjoy your dessert!"

While walking towards the stairs, I wiped my lipstick, released my hair, and most importantly, I didn't hide my disobedience to tell Carl something I had been scared of asking...

"Butler Carl, can you please bring my painting tools to my room? I hope you didn't burn them yet!"

The moment those words got out of my mouth, Alessandro's sharp gaze fell on me. He might have forgotten that the contract of acting like Evelyn had been invalid... and now the marriage would be invalid after three weeks.

"Yes, Miss Scarlet!"

I smiled. But the stench of different foods made my stomach turn. I knew something was wrong and I needed to trust my instincts.

I somehow avoided their sight and walked inside my room. Evelyn couldn't stop talking about how she was going to introduce her mate to Alessandro. And that man was silently listening to her. She didn't even care about how he would feel.

But I couldn't care less about him. Although I was in love with him, I knew that he would never love me.

I hurriedly grabbed the pregnancy test kit that I put in my purse, just in case. You never knew when it came to hand.

However, before I could walk in, I heard the door opening. I turned, thinking it might be the butler bringing my meals and the painting tools.

But to my surprise, Alessandro walked in, his expression grim. He looked at me as if he would jump on me anytime. Then his words came with distinct displeasure.

"We are going to the Alpha Ceremony today. You are coming with me!" he said, but his emotions were palpable.

He wants me to go with him? He never allowed me to attend any family programs. I thought he would rather face his first love with her mate all alone.

"I told you that I have an appointment!" I clenched the pregnancy test kit, feeling nervous. "Also, I want to divorce as soon as possible. When will you apply for one?" I asked, since the marriage would be invalid within three weeks anyway.

He looked at me as if I was being unreasonable. "Can't you just read the room? You are so desperate to leave me, aren't you? Why? Didn't I give you everything? Isn't it a perfect life for you to stay? What do you want more? More money? Car, house?"

He clutched my shoulders, causing me to hiss. He was upset about Evelyn but venting it on me.

"We have been following the contract. So, I think it's unfair if you ask me if I am satisfied or not."

His eyes darkened. I knew that he was heartbroken and pissed after knowing that Evelyn didn't come to him but to attend his brother's succession party with her mate. But he couldn't accept it. Such a pathetic person!

His scent was a mixture of his Alpha Wolf's scent and Evelyn's thick expensive perfume. That felt so suffocating that my stomach stirred up again.

Realizing that I couldn't hold myself together, I pushed him away from me and ran inside the bathroom without closing the door behind.

"What happened? Do you feel disgusted by me now?" he yelled aggressively, following me, his emotional punching bag.

And that was when I accidentally knocked my elbow on the door of the bathroom, causing me to release the pregnancy test kit I was hiding behind.

He froze, staring at the kit for a while before he looked at me with disbelief. "Are you pregnant?" he asked, his voice turning icy drastically.

My body froze as I looked at the pregnancy test kit and then at him. I shook my head immediately, standing up. "No. I am not! It's negative!"

I hadn't tested it yet. So it was indeed one line.

My heart started racing while my throat tightened with fear. He would kill the baby if something happened.

I swallowed hard, pointing to the one line, saying, "I... I just wanted to check if I was all clean or not. Al-Also, I... I am human. I can't have your child!" I felt a lump in my throat when I was giving some vague excuse.

"You better not be. Otherwise, I will drag you to the hospital!" he didn't comply or force me to get one done in front of him. Instead, he turned to leave before saying.

  • Escaping From My Ruthless Husband   Forgive them

Alessandro,Next afternoon, I stood at the front steps of the packhouse, blood still roaring in my ears, the sound of my own voice echoing in the hollow space of my chest. “She’s pregnant,” I had said. “She’s not just my mate—she’s the Luna of this territory. And if anyone lays a single finger on her, their entire bloodline will be banished. Do you hear me? Their children. Their siblings. Everyone.” That was how far I was willing to go. I needed that woman to spill everything out with the fear. It was late afternoon now, but I didn’t feel the sun or hear the birds. My thoughts were back in that cold, blinking screen where I saw Mauve—my Mauve—being carried away like she was nothing. Limp. Helpless. And I had done nothing. But when I went around the woods, why I couldn't feel it. What happened to her? I clenched my fists. I was going to bring her back. No matter what it cost. The guards were sweeping the forests in every direction. The scouts were circling the outskirts. Shadow

  • Escaping From My Ruthless Husband   I am sorry

Mauve, My mouth was dry. The air in the small storage room felt tighter than before—like the walls were inching closer, swallowing the oxygen bit by bit. The thin blanket they had given me was soaked in sweat. My skin stuck to it, hot and clammy. I didn’t know if I was shaking from the Moon Wolf’s exhaustion or my body trying to keep up with the life growing inside me. “Here—try a sip.” A small, chipped cup touched my lips. I sipped, but it was just water. Warm. Flat. My stomach turned. “I’m sorry,” said the younger servant girl—Rea, I think her name was. “We couldn’t find anything else. They’ve closed all the shops. Guards are patrolling. Nobody’s allowed to buy in bulk without ID.” Her hands trembled as she pulled the cup back. “They know,” I whispered. Rea didn’t answer. She just looked down, guilt written all over her face. “I told you he’d come for me,” I said softly. “Alessandro’s probably tearing the earth open right now. Maybe we can just go home and take time. I prom

  • Escaping From My Ruthless Husband   She is everything

Alessandro, Cosette wasn’t in her quarters. She wasn't even in the Packhouse. My guards went to Lunar oracle when she said she was blessed. She wasn’t in the infirmary. Not in the greenhouse, not with the other healers, and definitely not anywhere she was supposed to be. The moment I saw the last corridor clear, something inside me snapped. She had vanished the same day Mauve was taken. Coincidence? No. I didn’t believe in those anymore. Theo and two shadow guards trailed behind me as I stormed toward the south tower, where the guest chambers were rarely used unless I had foreign visitors or nobles too entitled to sleep in common rooms. Cosette had requested one weeks ago. Said she needed quiet to “regain her focus.” I should’ve looked closer. Should’ve interrogated her the moment we found the files and her involvement in dark magic. Mauve warned me about her. I should have listened to my woman. Pathetic! My boots struck the marble hard. The light above flickered as

Mauve, The room was dim, but not cold. Someone had moved a few lanterns and candles closer, and the scent of herbs hung faintly in the air. My eyes fluttered open, and I winced at the dull ache that crept through my limbs. My body felt like it had been wrung dry. I turned my head and found the five women again. All dressed in simple servant clothes. Their faces were drawn with worry, but this time, a hint of relief broke through. “Don’t try to move too quickly,” said the oldest woman gently. Her hair was tied back, strands of gray peeking through. “You’ve been out for hours. I prepared some bread” I sat up slowly, nausea twisting in my gut. ” Where are we actually?” I looked around. Not even a single ray entering the place. “Old stable house,” one of them said without hiding the truth, glancing toward the boarded window. “We used to clean it every week. Nobody checks it anymore.” “You took me,” I said, my voice hoarse. Her baby made a soft sound, rooting toward her chest

  • Escaping From My Ruthless Husband   Find her at any cost

Alessandro, The sun had begun its descent when I stepped out of the briefing room, the weight of a dozen silent decisions resting on my shoulders. My men—my shadow guards—had done their job well. They mapped out trails of dark magic laced through abandoned villages, intercepted two suspicious supply routes, and identified five individuals whose names were never meant to reach the surface. All connected to Evelyn. All breathing my air. I should’ve felt satisfied. Instead, I felt… an ache. Like I’d forgotten something important. I rubbed the back of my neck as I exited the building, my thoughts veering elsewhere. Mauve, I wondered how she was feeling right now. Each day she looked exhausted but determined. The meeting had run longer than expected, and I hadn’t seen her since the early morning. She’d been sleeping when I left—curled against the pillows with one hand resting protectively over her stomach. She always looked peaceful like that, but lately… she looked tired too. Draine

  • Escaping From My Ruthless Husband   Kidnapped

Mauve, The last person I healed had been a child—barely twelve or thirteen. Her little body had trembled with fever, her eyes glassy and unfocused as her mother held her tight, begging through tears. I remembered kneeling on the floor, my hands pressed gently over the girl’s chest. My wolf, Neva, had risen at once. The familiar silver warmth bloomed through me like moonlight, flooding the child’s body. And when it was over—when the girl opened her eyes and reached for her mother’s face—I thought I could rest. Sometimes I got some vision from the patients but they weren't something harmful. Just a slightest warning could help them. However, the little girl was the last person who I could treat for the day. The highest I could help was four people. I couldn't deny my own needs and strength especially with my baby inside. Thankfully they weren't pushy. Everyone like doctor appointment presented themselves in the dungeon everyday. After returning home, I noticed the girls
