6. What's Wrong, Louise?

He fell silent and racked his brains again to find every possibility. 

Within minutes, Joss was back at his side. The man had brought some important information about the woman. 

"What did you find out?" Xavier asked impatiently.

Joss explained what he had found out. "She is Louise Garcia, a top model who is currently in a relationship with Gerrard Wolf."

The name sounded familiar to Xavier.

"Gerrard Wolf?" Xavier repeated the name and easily remembered the man who was also well-known in the business world.

The person Joss mentioned was none other than one of his business rivals in the hospitality industry. 

"So ... what is this woman's relationship with Ethan, Joss?" 

Joss replied, "This woman was once in a relationship with Mr. Ethan. She ... left him because of money."

Upon hearing the story, Xavier clenched his teeth in frustration. 

“Money? Goodness! What a materialistic woman!” Xavier exclaimed, unable to contain his anger. 

“Joss, then what is the connection between Gerrard Wolf and the king?” Xavier suddenly adopted a serious expression again.

Joss, who had also previously investigated the man, replied, "They have no connection whatsoever. They are only connected because of this woman, Sir."

Indeed, there were no records or photographs showing that Ethan and Gerrard Wolf had ever met before.

"Wait a minute, could it be that Gerrard Wolf is the person behind Ethan’s kidnapping and beating?" Xavier immediately stood up as emotions suddenly surged in his chest.

He would never be able to accept that. Anyone who dared to hurt the heir to the Dragon King's knowledge would end up suffering at his hands. He would not allow anyone who touched Ethan to live in peace.

Joss replied with an uncertain look.

He spoke carefully, "Sir, Gerrard Wolf is a famous businessman. Meanwhile, Mr. Ethan is an ordinary servant. Why would he do that to Mr. Ethan?"

Xavier fell silent and tried to dig deeper. 

From an ordinary person's perspective, it was clear that the two men had nothing to do with each other. 

They were clearly in different fields. Moreover, their social statuses were also very different.

Meanwhile, Gerrard Wolf was the complete opposite of Ethan Miller. The man was rolling in wealth and had hardly ever experienced any hardship. 

Seeing the vast difference in their social status, Xavier was certain that the two men could not possibly have met or even crossed paths.

However, when he remembered that the two men were connected through the same woman, Yasa thought that it was possible that they had met.

"Find out about this as soon as possible, Joss. I want to know if Gerrard Wolf is indeed the person behind the attack on Ethan."

Joss nodded obediently, "Yes, Sir."

Meanwhile, Ethan Miller, who had been waiting patiently, finally got his chance. 

At that moment, Louise Garcia was alone, as if waiting for something. 

Ethan hurriedly walked towards the woman and greeted her warmly, "Louise."

The girl who was called by her name immediately turned to Ethan.

Her eyes widened as if she had seen a ghost. 

"Ethan, you ... why are you here?" Louise asked with a look of surprise and fear. 

Before Ethan could answer the girl's question, Louise had already dragged him away, holding his hand.

The woman looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to them. 

Ethan frowned at Louise's behaviour, "What's wrong, Louise? What are you-"

"Shh!" Louise silenced the man and hurriedly pushed Ethan into an empty room. 

Ethan, who was surprised, immediately asked, "Louise, what are you doing?" 

Daiva peeked outside the door and when she felt it was safe, she closed the door.

Then the woman turned to Ethan and asked, "Why are you here, Ethan?"

Ethan found Louise's attitude strange, but he casually replied, "I'm being treated at this hospital."

Louise's eyes widened, "You're being treated ... here? Are you sick?"

"Weren't you fine when you had dinner with me last night?" Louise asked, frowning. 

Ethan shook his head, "Something happened to me."

The man explained how he had been kidnapped by people he didn't know and ended up being beaten and tortured in a horrific manner. 

"He seemed very jealous. Was ... that person your lover?"
