"Hi, Evie. The teachers are going on strike.”

"Really?" she asks with sadness in her voice and drops the books on a table. "Why?”

"The city has not paid their salary, so it is not fair that they continue teaching, without receiving. Is not it?”

They spent all morning preparing posters, banners, flags and everything that was needed to start the strike on Monday. And despite the reasons for being there, not being the best of all, Ruby and Evangeline were just smiles to each other.
