~Ryan~
“NO!! please!!” I heard feint screams in the background.
People pleading desperately for their lives, as I crouched behind the remains of our sacred building.
“Ryan hide!” I heard distant scream of mother.
I obeyed and lowered my head behind the building.
Soon after I heard father's loud roar, peeping through the remains, I saw him pounced on two of the rival packs werewolves.
And in the next minute, he tore off their faces, blood dripping down from his mouth.
“Arggh!!”
Dad yelled in pain, as two more werewolves jumped on his back, bringing him down to a knee.
But even the two of them weren't enough to take down an Alpha!
He gathered strength and returnex back to his two feet.
But in a flash two more werewolves took two deadly swipes at his knee, swiping him off his feet.
And then they swarmed him! Coming from all directions, wolves pounced on him, some take swipes with their sharp claws, some landing heavy punches to his abdomen.
“Dad!” the corner of my eyes began heating up, as I watched my father painfully leaving me.
His eyes locked onto mine, pride and love in his eyes.
And with a sweet smile, I watched him gently shut his eyes and welcomed death.
They turned to Mom, she stood just a few feet away from them.
But, she was ready for a fight. Her hands folded into a fist, her wolf hungry for blood. I could see the rage in her eyes.
She was going to make them pay for what they did to Dad.
They rushed towards her, but she didn't back down.
She flew into the air, and on landing used her razor sharp claws to tear into the flesh of two of the werewolves.
But they were too much even for her. She fought very defiantly, biting, scrapping, punching at them.
But soon the numbers caught up to her. A few took her by the legs and brought her down to the floor.
Her body make a disturbing thud noise on hitting the ground.
“Mom!”
Blood flowed rapidly as her body laid lifeless on the floor.
I couldn't hold back the tears anymore. I let them roll down my cheeks.
Twenty years since that day, but the pain, was still as fresh as the first day.
Seeing Mom and Dad die right in front of me, was a sight that left a scar on me.
I've spent the last fiveteen years trying to rebuild the Star Raiders pack and take it back to the pinnacle of the Werewolf kingdom.
And now, I can finally claim I've accomplished that.
But there was one more thing, i needed to fulfill to rest my conscious and the make good on the promise I made my parents at their funeral.
‘Find the location of the Shadow Blood pack, the pack that ruined everything and killed my parents, and tear everything they have into shreds.’
“Alpha Ryan!” a voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
“Yes,Trevor!”
“.. Well, I heard about you decision to travel to the White Snow pack.”
Trevor said.
Trevor, serves as my Beta and my most trusted allie and friend.
We were one of five survivors from the invasion twenty years ago.
He's helped me in every step to build back this pack.
“Is there a problem?” I raised a brow at his statement.
“Not really. It's just a bit sudden. Is there any reason in particular?”
Trevor asked.
“Well, if you must know, I'll soon be thirty and I don't have a mate.
And it looks like I might not have. So Alpha Zaphyr has decided to volunteer and hand pick me a wife who is sure to compliment me.”
I carefully explained to Trevor. His expression wasn't convincing, and I could feel another question coming.
“But can you trust Zaphyr or any lady he picks for you?”
Trevor had grown to be very protective and vigilant of my every move.
Sharing the same traumatic experience isn't easy for anyone.
We were all we have, so we have to look out for each other.
“Of course I can't. I don't just trust anyone. I've sent out a few of my men to fetch me a report of the pack and every lady who isn't mated.
You'll get the report once they arrive, so put your mind to rest.”
Trevor heaved a sigh of relief.
“Sir, I'm also here with quite an important news!”
Trevor's tone changed a bit.
“Yes? What is it?” I asked walking closer to him.
“Our men were all able to identify a Shadow Blood pack member.”
“What?” my eyes flung wide open is shock. For a second I couldn't believe my ears.
“Yes sir. We have him tied up in the dungeon room.”
Trevor continued.
“Take me to him, NOW!!” I ordered barely containing my excitement.
For years, I've been looking for even just a member of the Shadow Blood pack. And then force the location from him before putting him to rest.
I followed Trevor to the dungeon room. Sitting in the middle, his head lowered, tied up to a chair, my key to my revenge.
I walked up to him, and on seeing my arrival, a shady smirk appeared on his face.
“What's your name?” I asked him, he immediately scoffed me.
“That's why you tied me up here to ask my name?”
He mocked me, but he was very lucky I was a hothead.
“It's important to know your name, so when you die we'll know what to write on your grave, huh?”
I shot back at him.
“Listen, let's not make this hard on any of us. Corporate with me an maybe you'll live, if you don't then I'll give you a slow and painful death!”
I watched him shiver in fear, the smirk was wiped off his face.
“You can't kill me. You need me!”
“Need you?”
I immediately shifted into a wolf. My body doubling in size.
And with my shape claws, I pierced Depp into his skin.
“Argg!!!” he let out a loud scream in pain.
“Where is your pack located boy?” I asked, my claws still firmly sunk into his skin.
“....The Northern District, I swear!!” he yelled out, the pain too unbearable.
“Thank you!” I pulled out my claws. “
Leave him here, he might yet be useful.
Gather the soldiers, after our visit to the White snow pack, we're headed to the Northern District!”
Ryan’s POVThe war room was filled with tension. I sat at the head of the long table, flanked by Trevor on one side and Elena on the other. Aria stood behind me, arms folded tight. We all waited to hear the feedback Elder Chorwin got. Elder Chorwin stepped forward, holding a thick scroll in his hand. Then he opened it. “I’ve received word from the Iron Fangs,” he announced, his voice loud and clear. “They have acknowledged our message and responded through one of their messengers this morning.”Trevor leaned forward. “What did they say?”Chorwin met our eyes one by one before he continued. “They are open to discussing an alliance… but they have conditions.”Of course they did. They always do.“What is it?” I exhaled sharply. “The first,” he said, “is that there must be only two representatives from our side attending. They wish for neutrality and minimal exposure. And they named who they want—Ryan, and any one man of your choosing.”My jaw tightened, but I gave a single nod. “Un
Thorne's POVI stood in the barracks, the smell of steel and sweat thick in the air. Kael, one of my most trusted warheads, waited before me with some important information. Kael beside being my most trusted warheads, was practically the only man I have ever trusted and he didn't let me down. He’d followed me from the beginning, even when I was just a pampered son of an Alpha. He gave a stiff nod. “Zephyr held his end of the deal, he gave us two two hundred warriors and twelve scouts. I didn’t answer right away. I stared past him at the stretch of men training in the yard, white snow warriors. Two hundred wasn't a bad number. It puts us at an advantage to Star Raiders, but i wasn't still not sure if it enough to put me at ease.Star Raiders posses the most skilled men of all packs, this number would be enough against any other pack but them. And their quality?” I finally asked.Kael scratched his chin. “Better than what I expected. But still from what I see they lack motivation. F
Ryan POVThe morning air was soft and chilly, just as I liked it. I stood in the clearing, already warmed up, watching as Elena jogged toward me. Her eyes were sharp, and focused. Something inside her had shifted these past few days, she was more determined. Maybe it was the direwolf in her, or maybe it was the Crystal effect. “Ready?” I asked, tossing her a wooden blade. It smacked into her palm, but she didn’t even flinch.“As I’ll ever be,” she replied, straightening her shoulders. “Good.” I took a step back and tapped the staff in my hand against the ground. “Today’s drill is called 'Guard and Break.' You’re going to defend against five strikes. Not dodge… block. I want you to hold your ground.”She nodded, tightening her stance. She wasn't even hesitating or over thinking. “Begin,” I said, and lunged towards her.I first targeted her lower region. She blocked with the tip of her blade, her knees bending with the pressure. I brought the next hit from the right, but she ca
Crystal POVI sat on the edge of the bed, staring blankly at the small table across the room. My mind was far from here, it was just on her… Elena. The name rang in my head like continuously, my step sister. The girl I always thought would be nothing, just weak and powerless. And now she's... a dire wolf?I clenched my jaw tightly. I had trained for years first while I was here and then more at Star Raiders and then the time I was rogue I mastered my craft, honed every move, sharpened every instinct. I was stronger, faster and naturally gifted than any other female werewolf. But now all anyone could talk about was her. The miracle. The girl who was never meant to shift and suddenly turned into one of the rarest and most powerful breeds of wolves in existence. The door creaked open. I didn’t turn."I figured I’d find you brooding," Thorne said. His voice was calm, almost amused. "You’ve been quiet since we arrived."I finally looked up as he stepped inside, his large frame fillin
Elena’s POVThe morning came quickly, I could barely sleep last night. I couldn't wait any more, I was just ready to go out there and train. I didn't waste any more time, I quickly freshened up and dashed out of my room at once. It didn't waste time before I stood in the east field, surrounded by the mist of the early day. The air was cold, crisp, and sharp against my skin.I wrapped my arms around myself and exhaled slowly. The silence in the fields was almost suffocating. It felt like the peace before the storm. Then I heard footsteps coming. Ryan emerged from the mist, dressed in a black training shirt, sleeves pushed up to his elbows, expression unreadable. He looked sharp and focused. He had his game face on. What he said about no taking it easy on me was true. Today, he wasn't here to protect, instead he might be the one to put me in danger. “You’re early,” he said as he approached, his voice low and steady.“So are you.” I replied sharply. He smirked, just a little.
Zaphyr’s POVI sat at the head of the table, patiently waiting for their arrival. Just then the doors creaked open and then heavy boots echoed in the hall. I didn't need to turn to know who had arrived, it was them. That presence… it was unmistakable. The chill in the air thickened as they stepped in.I turned slowly, eyes landing on the daughter I hadn’t seen in months My step daughter, but the one who I always treated with a silver spoon.Crystal.She looked different than last time I saw her. She looked sharper and more dangerous, and for some reason she was oozing a certain power and presence and not just because of the man standing beside her. Him… Thorne, I assumed. The new Alpha of the Shadow Blood Pack.I didn’t greet them.“I see you’ve found your way home,” I said instead, voice like ice.Crystal raised her chin. “Only temporarily.”Her tone didn’t waver. There was no softness, no hesitation. That little girl who once begged for my attention, for my approval… she was g
Crystal’s POVThe cold wind stung my cheeks as our horses trotted toward the great iron gates of the White Snow Pack. I kept my chin high, eyes focused. It had been months since I stood on this snow-covered land.Months since I left this place with a joyous as ever and happy. I had Ryan, my mother's love and my step father's compassion, I thought I had it all. And now I was back, not as prodigal daughter, but as the weapon of another pack.Beside me, Thorne rode silently, his expression unreadable but his aura radiating power. From a distance, the guards spotted us arriving, they instantly raised their weapons in self defense.“State your pack!” one of them barked.“Shadow Blood,” Thorne answered flatly. And then, I knew the answer that was coming next. The reaction was immediate. They stepped forward at once, pulling out their blades, ready to fight. “Turn around,” the same guard said. “This territory is closed to your kind.”Thorne’s eyes narrowed. He didn't waste any time to
Elena’s POVI knocked gently on Ryan's door, but there was no answer. And then I knocked again, still no answer. The silence inside his room felt oddly empty, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Or maybe I was just over thinking? Maybe he was out, busy with something important.Yes, that must be why. I didn’t mind too much, I had all the time in the world to find him. The thought of being near him, especially after everything that had happened last night, made me feel whole.I turned down the hallway, making my way to the war room. Maybe he was there, there were always matters to discuss, and as the Alpha, Ryan was there almost all the time. When I reached the door to the war room, I hesitated for a moment. It was slightly opened, and I could hear voices inside. One of them was unmistakable was Ryan’s. The other voice was Trevor’s. They spoke, their tone serious. This had to be important. I leaned in to listen closely. “...Elena is not ready, Trevor. She
Ryan POVI stayed by the porch a few minutes longer, letting everything all sink in. Even though my body was tired, my mind just kept replaying every moment of Elena’s shift, from the look in her eyes to her figure, the dire wolf, the rarest werewolf species of all.She had no idea how rare and how powerful she was.I finally forced myself to move, stepping off the porch and then walking toward the war room. I had told Trevor to wait for me in the war room. I also figured Aria would already be there too. Knowing her well, she would never missed anything important as this, and sure enough, when I pushed the door open, she and Trevor were seated around the long oak table. They both looked up immediately.“She did it,” I said simply, my voice laced with a tinge of pride. And why not? My fated mate is now a dire wolf. Aria’s face broke into a smile. “I knew she would,” she said, rising from her seat and coming over to me. “How is she?”"Exhausted," I said, running a hand through my ha
