Lesnar got up and walked to Jennifer. He was short of words to say. Without saying a word, he spread his arms and hugged her suddenly.

“Sir?” She muttered in surprise. His hug was soft and homely. In as much as she loved how he hugged her, she tried to push him off her.

Lesnar just held on. “Thank you so much, Jennifer,” he said so calmly. “Thank you.”

Then, he pulled away. When he looked at Edwin Jones again, his eyes were filled with disgust. The man had no Idea where to look. Shame had caught up with him.

Lesnar sat down and stared at him. Then, he scoffed.

“One million dollars?” He queried Edwin Jones. “You obviously thought it was over for me.”

The man cleared his throat. “Look, I understand things have turned around. But that—”

Lesnar cut him off.

“Get out of my office now,” he said calmly but in a really stern tone.

The man knew better than to stay back. The look in Lesnar's eyes showed he meant every word he said. He got up from the chair and packed h

For the next couple of seconds, Lesnar could not utter a word. He was torn between what to do and what not to do. He looked at Jennifer and she shook her head, a way of telling him not to consider the option. The man was under pressure. He needed to think, but there was no time for it. “Sir, what do you say?” Evelyn asked him. Edwin Jones cut in. “Let me make it easy for you. Let go of this company while you still can.” Lesnar looked at the market. Nothing was still happening. For how long did he have to endure this torment before things would change positively? The man cleared his throat and said, “Lesnar, sell off the company before it's too late. Let me do you this favour by buying it from you. I'm only trying to help you here. You should see it that way.” “Hmm,” Lesnar exhaled heavily. “How much are you bringing to the table?” Edwin Jones adjusted his position and caressed his jaw as if thinking. “Given the current situation of your company, we both know it's n

Lesnar was mute. He had too many thoughts going through his head all at the same time. Yet he had absolutely no idea about what move they were to make. “Sir, are you listening to me?” His manager pressed on. “If we don't do as—” Lesnar exploded. He cut the man off.“Damn it, Evelyn!!!” Lesnar growled in anger and deep frustration. “Let me think!!!” He slammed his hand on the table and stood up. Thinking about his statement, it was stupid. He has been thinking the whole time, what more could there be for him to think about? He walked out of his table area and started pacing around in a very anxious manner. He had already lost five hundred million that morning. And there were no positive signs yet. “Sir, you need to make a decision,” Evelyn said. “Minus six hundred million dollars.” He took his phone. He was going to call Jennifer when the door opened. It was her. Jennifer was there. Without being told, Jennifer knew something was wrong. There was tension in the entire atmosphere

She cupped the little girl's face and said, “Don't worry, my angel. I will prepare something for you. Just give me a little time. You can wait there in the dining area.” She quickly hurried to the kitchen and made another meal for the little girl. Emily ate halfway into her meal before she asked a bothersome question. “Mommy, I have a question,” Emily said. Jennifer smiled at her. “What is it, my child?” “Will daddy chase us out of this house?” Jennifer didn't respond immediately. She knew it was boiling down to that. But she wouldn't take hope away from Emily. She shook her head. “No, my dear. He's not going to do that.” “Mom, I'm scared of that lady in our house.” Jennifer smiled at her. She got up and stroked the little girl's face. “My dear, you have absolutely nothing to worry about, okay? I will protect you all the time.” Emily smiled. She was relieved. “I love you, mommy,” Emily said. “I love you too, sweetheart.” She watched Emily till she was done ea

Jennifer was in shock. She didn't expect Albert to take things this far. She stared blankly at him. There was no way Albert would simply drop divorce papers for her like that. “What…what are these papers for?” She managed to ask while feigning ignorance. Stella laughed loudly in a mocking manner. “Sweetheart, she really doesn't know what's going on here,” Stella said. Albert took a step closer. “I forgot how daft you are. These are freaking divorce papers. I have placed my signatures already. Sign them and let's put an end to this prison you put me in.” Jennifer was heartbroken. Since when did their marriage become a prison? How could Albert, the only man she has ever loved, bluntly say things like this to her? “A prison?” She queried, her voice slightly shaky. “How can you call our marriage a prison?” He sighed heavily and threw a fiery glare at the little girl by her side. Emily hid behind her mother. Jennifer shielded her properly. “Sign the documents, little

Lesnar waved it off. Of course, there would be no way she would have any idea about business at his level. “Help me? No, Jennifer,” he said. “I don't think you can understand things like this.” Jennifer chuckled at that. “I can save your company.” She was still insisting on that. Lesnar was surprised at her boldness and confidence to even say that. What could she even know? It didn't look like she was a big shot at all. Her pastry shop would not give her insight into the business world at that level. He understood she wanted to be of help to him, but she dosen't look like someone that had what it takes. He leaned forward and said in a really polite tone, “I don't mean to belittle you, Jennifer. And I understand you want to be of help here. But I don't think you have what it takes. Please, don't be offended.” His mind was still doing the maths. How could it be so easy for her to say so? He already had many business experts look into his company. None of them could come up with a
