When Albert was done taking his bath, he dried off, changed into his nightwear, and went to bed without saying any word to Jennifer, who kept looking at him. After a while, Jennifer went and took her own bath. She changed to her nightgown and was about to lay down on the bed when a nagging thought crossed her mind, reminding her about Emily's condition. She decided to go and check her up. She hadn't checked on her since earlier in the evening, after she cut the cake and went to her room to rest. She had been unusually quiet and hadn't come out.
