Gideon’s brow went up in suspicion as Simon’s voice dropped a notch. He was unable to make out his words.

“Is everything okay?” Sophia asked from behind again.

“Looks like trouble to me; what’s going on?” Gideon asked, his eyes narrowed at Simon.

Simon kept listening without saying a word, and after several minutes, he ended the call.

“Sophia I’m afraid I need to attend to something; can you go on without me?” Simon asked.

“Sure, it’s not a problem. I wouldn’t want to keep you from work, especially since it seems urgent,” Sophia replied, patting his arm.

“Okay, I’ll see you around; let me get someone to drive you,” Simon insisted.

“Last I checked, I was not invincible, and it looks like you are trying to keep something away from me,” Gideon stated, folding his arm on his chest.

Simon turned to him and responded, “It’s best you get on your way, because there is nothing to keep from you, Gideon.”

Simon turned and walked back into the building without as much as a glance back.
