When Simon and Charlotte got into the car, he turned to her and snapped, "What in the h*ll was that about?"

Charlotte turned angry red eyes to him and responded, "What did it look like? Saying hi to the one who came between us,"

"Damn it, Charlotte, there is nothing between us. Let this be the last time you pull such a st*pid stunt," Simon warned.

As they pulled out of the Elegance Palace, they both fell silent after Simon's outburst.

After about thirty minutes, they got to the Parker's head office. Simon got out of the car and, without even as much as a glance in her direction, walked straight through the lobby to the elevator.

There was a tense silence in the room as both cousins stared each other down like mountain cats. Their breaths came in short form from the anger they tried to control.“F*ck!” Gideon shouted, breaking the silence as he moved away from the table.“I have no time for your childish antics, Gideon.” Simon stated.“Go f*ck yourself, Simon. By God, you are going to regret doing this; you are f*cking going to regret it, you f*cking piece of sh*t!” Gideon shouted,Simon shrugged, a wicked glint in his eyes as he said, “I’d love to see you try.”“You moved my father from his position to head another subsidiary? My father, Simon, not some fr*aking executive!” Gideon snapped.Simon raked a hand through his hair in frustration as he closed his eyes and sighed deeply. He didn’t want to get pulled into this, but he was beginning to lose it.“Why the h*ll can Uncle not be moved? Who else is worth enough to oversee a subsidiary?” Simon asked.“A f*cking executive or manager, anyone, you f*cking a**ho

Clayton rubbed the back of his neck nervously before saying, “It’s just that I need to get it from another device.”“What device? Aren’t your documents synced across all your devices?” Anna asked, her scowl deepening.“Yes, but I had to keep this on a separate one since it was a business plan I didn’t want anyone else to know.” Clayton mumbled, adding, “Saying it now, I realize how stupid it is.”An awkward silence stretched between them as Anna processed Clayton's explanation, her scowl softening slightly.Anna shook her head and responded, “It’s good to see that you are starting to realize your actions for what they are.”“I will try to get it, okay? I left it back in L.A., but I can get it.” Clayton assured.“Alright, I hope you do.” Anna replied.Clayton nodded, feeling relieved that Anna didn't pursue the matter any further. He sighed in relief as he thought about how to get the documents.By the next day, Clayton was yet to get the documents, a fact he hid from Anna, who was pre

At the Fisher’s house, Loveth walked into the children’s room later that evening after returning from the academy.“What are you guys doing?” she asked. The triplets were sitting around and tapping at the screen of the tablet they each held vigorously.“We are playing video games.” Jasmine responded, not looking up from her screen."Do you want anything?" Loveth asked them."No, Grandma," James shouted, excited by the game he was playing."What about ice cream? Do you want it?" Loveth asked again."Grandma, we had that earlier," Jayden replied.“Okay,” Loveth drawled, staring at them in amusement. They had looked like their mother was running away earlier, but here they were now, not looking at all bothered. She stood there silently for a minute before deciding to leave them alone.“Alright, I’ll be in my room if you need anything, okay? And you can call your aunt Billy too, okay?” Loveth told them.“Okay, Grandma,” they chorused, still tapping away at their screen.Loveth walked to t

“You are going to speak at some point, right?" Anna murmured at Nat's hesitation."It is David, and he is insisting on seeing you." Nat replied."They look nothing alike, though," someone else murmured."Of course, they are cousins, not brothers," another responded. One of the hosts of the conference rose up and approached Simon with a warm smile.“Mr. Parker, it is such a privilege to have you with us this year.” He said.“Thank you, Mr. Gova; well done on the work you do with this conference every year.” Simon responded, taking the hand he extended.“Oh wow, looks like we have the two Parker brothers here with us.” Mr. Gova muttered, looking behind Simon.Simon’s face went blank as he turned back to see Gideon waltzing into the room, a wicked glint in his eyes.Gideon's presence immediately shifted the atmosphere in the room, causing a ripple of unease for Simon. He knew Gideon had probably come to complicate things because of their last confrontation.“Hello, Mr. Gideon, thank you

By the time they got downstairs, the kids were nowhere to be seen, while outside they heard the sound of footsteps walking towards the door."You were expecting guests, and you asked the kids to come over?" Anna asked, looking pissed."Look for them while I sort out whoever is at the door." Simon called, walking towards the door.Anna checked the backyard, but it was empty. The rain had reduced, which meant they could go now.As she turned to go check upstairs, Simon opened the door, and that was when she saw them."Mom? What are you doing here?" Simon asked.Anna froze; for a minute she could not breathe as she stared at the woman she had not seen in so many years."I asked your father to bring me, and then Sophia insisted on coming, and then the rest is history." Mia replied. Her eyes roamed Simon and then landed on the dirty shirt he still had on, widening in shock at it."What is that? You have one?" Mia asked."It's nothing, just stained from…" Simon responded, trailing off as sh

Simon paused, his heart beating really hard in his chest as he stared at the half-closed door. His body moved of its own will, turning towards the door and pushing it further.“Simon?” Anna called out as she turned towards the door. There she stood, her wet hair covered by a clean white towel, which he believed she must have pulled out of the clean pile in the closet.“What do you…” Anna started to ask, then trailed off.“I—uhmmm—the kids pushed me up to come get changed.” Simon stuttered as he stepped into the room and closed the door behind him.Anna’s eyes dropped to his white shirt, and she quickly said, “Oh, uhmm, yes, of course, but your room is down the hall, right?”Simon shook his head and said, “There is only one room on this floor—well, one with the amenities, that is.”Anna looked puzzled, so he quickly explained, “I don’t stay here often, so I just had this room set up for days when I do stay.”The look of surprise on her face was funny as she quickly pulled the towel fro
