HILDA'S POV

I was finally packing to my new house. I felt good. I twerked as I played Up by Cardi B loudly in the background. I felt really good today. I was meeting up with Adrian so we could go over to the house together and then we would go have brunch.

It was a really good day and I refused to let anything ruin my mood. I still had not figured out who had sabotaged the project but I was not about to let that bother me today.

Adrian and I had gone furniture shopping a few days back. We had t

HILDA'S POV“I’m so ready,” I murmured back, straightening my jacket and passing a hand through my ponytail.I smiled, waving at the cameras. I could feel my heart racing, but I held myself together. This was part of the game, part of being this new me.The moderator stepped forward and began speaking. “Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for being here today. We are proud to announce a new partnership between the Rodriguez group and the Cruz Group. Hilda Rodriguez and Adrian Cruz from both companies are here to speak on the vision behind this collaboration.”I took a small breath in and stepped forward, nodding at Adrian before I began addressing the crowd.“Good morning, everyone,” I began, my voice steady and clear not betraying how jittery I felt inside.“Thank you for joining us here today. This partnership is not just about merging resources or expanding our market reach. This is about building something bigger than every one of us here. We are talking about the Rodriguez Future City

HILDA’S POVThe photos the paparazzi had taken of me and Adrian had gone viral. There were different takes on it; I knew because I had seen the comments. Some people thought it was a farce to get back with Wilson.Others thought it was a way of announcing my new relationship with Adrian. A majority thought we looked good together, and they were shipping us.I, for one, was pissed. How did the paparazzi know we were going to be there? Nobody knew my whereabouts for that day, not even my nan. Had they been following us?My nan had called me and asked about Adrian. I had to have the very awkward conversation of convincing her that it was just work between us.The partnership between our companies was going to be announced today. We were planning on holding a press conference. We were collaborating on the future city project. I had spent nights going through everything on Adrian's company. I was not about to risk the biggest project my company was taking on.I only brought the partnership

HILDA'S POVWe had left my new place not too long ago and we had driven to a restaurant overlooking the marina. The place was beautiful. It had floor to ceiling windows and you could see far out into the distance where water was stretched long.Boats were moving lazily over the water surface and the sunlight reflected off the lulling waves.I loved places like this.Adrian pulled my chair out for me before sitting down across from me.“You like it?” he asked with a small smile.“I love it,” I replied as I looked around. “You picked such a good spot. It's so peaceful.”“I know, right? I come here whenever I need alone time. It's never noisy.”The waiter came over with menus soon and water and we placed our orders. I was starving and the smell of food drifting through the restaurant was not helping.Adrian rested his elbows on the table as he watched me.“This is probably the happiest I've ever seen you,” he said.“I guess. I feel so happy,” I admitted.“This move means a whole lot to y

We had to fight over who would pay and he eventually won after using his height to his advantage and reaching the counter before I could even get my card out. It was a fun day and I had laughed so much. All the times I had spent with Adrian were fun. We had deep conversations and I loved the way he thought. It was refreshing to hear his opinions and I loved how he always listened and remembered everything I said to him.He made me feel important. He was always attentive to me, my body language, everythi

  • Ex Wants Me Back? No Way!   Ch-16

HILDA'S POVBy the time I got home that evening, I was already exhausted. The day had been so long and chaotic, and all I wanted to do was throw myself on my bed and sleep for twelve hours straight. But I had dinner plans and surprisingly, I was actually looking forward to it.Adrian had sent the location after we had spoken in the afternoon. It was a newly opened upscale restaurant that I had been wanting to try but never really got the chance.I kicked off my heels first and stretched my toes with relief.“Finally,” I muttered and sighed.I walked into the bathroom and splashed some cool water on my face. The reflection staring back at me looked very tired, but I would fix it.By the time I stepped out of the hot shower, I already felt lighter. The stress from the office had faded a little and now the only thing left was deciding what to wear.I opened my closet and stared at the numerous rows of clothes. After a few minutes of staring and changing my mind three times, I finally set

  • Ex Wants Me Back? No Way!   Ch-15

HILDA'S POVThe whole office was chaotic.Employees were running around all morning and it had been one meeting after another. Phones kept ringing, people were talking over each other, and Anne had already walked into my office about three times with updates.Someone had tried to mess with the tech city program. They had deleted the main program I sent to the developer last night. He had called me in the morning sounding like he was about to pass out and then he let me know that the file was gone. It had been completely erased.I had several copies of the files. I wasn't stupid enough to think that everybody was happy with the recent developments. I knew there was likely to be a sabotage of some sort.I kept copies of everything on different servers, different drives, different backups.I resent the program to the developer and told him to get started immediately. There was no time to waste.Still, that was not the point.Someone had gotten access to his laptop and that bothered me.N
