“She pushed me into the pool.” I looked in horror as Lucius took off his jacket, gently helping Sasha to sit down on the floor and covering her shoulders with his jacket. “Did you push her into the pool?” He narrowed his eyes as he leaned toward me, and I stepped back, my heart pounding in my chest. “Answer me!” “I - She,“ I stuttered, barely able to utter a single word as I looked at Sasha, who was smirking at me. It suddenly made sense why she had jumped into the pool. She knew Lucius would believe her if she told him I pushed her into the pool. “What was the plan, Alisha?!” he sneered. “Did you want to kill her? Do you even know that she can’t swim?” “I didn’t do it, Lucius. She -“ “Are you calling her a liar?” He snarled. “Are you calling me a liar, even after what I saw?” “You must believe me. I didn’t do it,” I cried. “I was barely standing two feet from her when she fell into the pool. This was all her plan, Lucius. She wants you to be angry at me,” I answered as I looked at Sasha, who rolled her eyes and got up from the floor. “I want you out of this house right now!” he angrily pointed to the door. “Right now?” I asked, shocked, because he knew very well that I had nowhere else to go. “Where will I go at this time?” “You should’ve thought about that before you assaulted my fiancé and threw her into the pool. Do you know she can open a case against you and have you arrested? This is the same as attempted murder because she can’t swim. If I weren’t nearby, she would’ve died.” “You believe her?” “She’s carrying my child, Alisha!” I looked at Sasha and let the tears at the corners of my eyes roll down my cheeks. Hearing Lucius say that caused my stomach to twist, and I knew I had no place in the house anymore. There was nothing I could use to fight for our marriage. “So I’ve heard,” I scoffed. “I didn’t deserve this, Lucius. I know you wanted to have children of your own, but I didn’t deserve this.” “I tried to do right by you. I tried to be the husband that you wanted, but you just couldn’t give me what I wanted the most. You couldn’t have made me happier than I’ve been with Sasha these past few months.” “I can’t believe this,” I huffed, feeling my heart and all the bones in my body growing weak. “You promised never to hurt me, but look at you now. What did I do to you, Lucius?” “You failed to be the woman that I married you to be. You failed as a woman, and besides sex, you weren’t really bringing anything into my life, Alisha.” “I’ve been with you through thick and thin. I -“ “Please, save me all that pitiful talk. Sasha is carrying my child, and I can’t risk their lives.” “How could you take her side when you didn’t see what happened?” I exclaimed. “She jumped into the pool because she obviously wanted you to act like you’re acting right now toward me. Can’t you see that?” I cried. “You must leave right now. I can’t allow you to be under the same roof as Sasha in her condition. I don’t want you to put her and the baby in danger.” “But -“ When I tried to resist, Lucius grabbed my arm and dragged me inside the house, heading to the front door with me. When we got to the hallway near the living room, everyone’s heads turned and looked at us. Even the ladies who came with Sasha turned and looked at what Lucious was doing to me. They were probably enjoying the show. “What’s going on?” His mother questioned behind him. “I don’t want her in this house,” Lucius answered as he opened the door and pushed me to the floor outside. “She tried to drown Sasha in the pool. She could’ve died if I hadn’t taken her out on time.” I landed on my arm, closed my eyes, and groaned from the excruciating pain that felt like a knife in my stomach. When I looked up, Lucius and his family were looking down at me as if they would throw stones at me until there was nothing but flesh on the floor. “How dare you try to hurt Sasha?” Olivia scolded. “Do you know who she is?” She snarled. “She’s the daughter of the CEO of the Imperial Group. He could end your life with a snap of his fingers, and your existence would cease.” ‘Daughter of the CEO of the Imperial Group?’ I internally asked myself as I looked at them. “She has so much more money than you could ever imagine. You should be grateful that she hasn’t gotten you arrested,” Olivia added. “So, you better pray that nothing happens to her baby. If she miscarries her child, the blood will be on your hands, and you will be held responsible.” Before I could say a word to them, there was a loud thunder before the rain started pouring, and I was wet within seconds. I was so sure that Lucius wouldn’t let me be outside the house while it was raining, but when everyone leaned back, he glanced at me for a second before he slammed the door behind them. I lay there for a moment and couldn’t believe that my husband was doing this to me. I couldn’t believe that the same man who loved me with all that he had a few months ago was the same man who was now treating me as if I meant nothing to him. I got up from the floor, and when I turned around, security was already at my side, heading to the gate with me. After they closed the gate, I looked at the house and then walked down the road to the filling station to call Francesca. But when I was about to cross the road to the other side, a honking sound and screeching wheels caught me by surprise, and before I knew it, I passed out. When I woke up, my head was pounding, and there was an IV drip attached to my wrist. I almost screamed before I realized I was in the hospital. I was so relieved when a doctor walked into the room. “Good evening, Mrs. Hall. I am so glad that you’re finally awake. I’ve informed your husband that you got into a car accident and have been admitted to the hospital for almost 24 hours now. He promised to come as soon as he could.” She informed me with a smile on her face. “My God, I thought I was going to die,” I groaned as I remembered the honking and screeching sounds of a car. “Thank God for the gentleman who saved your life,” she beamed. “You were so lucky that the car didn’t hit you badly enough to fracture any bones in your body, and the little one that’s growing inside you.” I yanked my head and looked at her with my eyes popping open. “What? What are you talking about?” “Mrs. Hall, you’re pregnant and estimated to be 6 weeks and 5 days along,” she smiled. “Oh,” she squealed as she looked at the door as someone walked in. “There he is! The gentleman who saved your life.” “Santino?” I breathed in shock as he walked toward my bed. “Camilla. It’s been a long time.”•LUCIUS•A card fell from my bag when I got back home from work, and when I picked it up and saw the credentials on it, it suddenly occurred to me it was the girl I met a few days ago in the bar.A soft chuckle escaped my lips as I sat on the couch in my bedroom and took my cell phone to call the number.I was curious if she would remember me, and when she answered, my heart skipped a beat.“Hey, stranger.”“Oh, hey, you.” She instantly seemed to remember me, but I wasn’t sure if I was the right person she was referring to.“I thought I should check up on you. It’s been a while since I last saw you. The little time we had in that restroom still roams in my mind.”“I thought you’d never call, big daddy. You were in my thoughts all day. I miss you.”My dick twitched when she said that.“Where are you? I can come to your place right now.”“I’ll send you the address at this number. Don’t take time. I’m wet, and I’m not wearing anything.”“Don’t touch yourself until I get there.” I hung up
•SASHA•"Now," he leaned closer. "You'll be a good girl and do everything we told you. We won't get the diamonds out of the store without your help." Mateo's voice sent shivers down my body. We were in the car outside a jewelry store that had received diamond jewelry stock, and they wanted me to be the front man in getting it. I realized I was in a difficult situation and didn’t know how to get out without worsening things for myself because he knew about my history with Dario."Is there another way to get the diamonds?" I looked at him and the guy at the back. "You're not dumb, Sasha, so what's with the dumb questions? You wanted this. So get in there and do everything we discussed." I wanted to cry. I wished to give them any money they wanted so they would leave me alone. "Okay," I nodded, taking a deep breath and my purse. "Wait for my signal." I hopped out of the car and headed inside the store, looking around as someone who wanted to buy something, and when I got to the cou
•CAMILLA•“I’m sorry, Gia, I -““No, it’s okay. This is my truth, and though I know Mario has changed, it will never change that he murdered my parents. But if you want to ask me if I love him? Yes, I love him. He’s the man I want, and I can’t imagine my life with anyone else.”“I’m sorry you went through so much before you realized you loved him. I’m sure it wasn’t easy getting there with him.”“It gets better with time. So, what’s up with you?”“Well,” I breathed. “I had this ex who bought me gifts, and when Santino saw them, he threatened to find him and teach him a lesson to leave me alone. I honestly want to believe that he had nothing to do with it, but he’s dead now. He died last night, and today, Santino bought me a car. Isn’t it weird?”“It’s weird,” she sighed. “But you can’t assume that without facts. If he killed the guy, maybe he wouldn’t have allowed his death to be public. He would’ve hidden his body or buried it somewhere.”Sighing, I leaned back on the couch. “I don’t
•CAMILLA•‘Valentino’s dead?’ I shook my head, scoffed in disbelief, grabbed my cell phone, and scrolled through the internet; it was filled with RIPs on Valentino’s social media, nearly stopping my heart.“It must be a coincidence. I don’t think Santino’s responsible. He’s not a murderer. He wouldn’t have done it, not over a pink Maserati,” I muttered under my breath as I turned off the TV and went to the bathroom.I didn’t know what to think.Santino left that day, and when I returned home, he was nowhere to be found. The following day, he claimed to have slept in the game room, and though he told me he let Valentino go and no longer searched for him, I couldn’t entirely believe him.I had known him for five years, and he couldn’t hurt a fly, not out of jealousy.I scoffed and tried not to think much about the news and Valentino’s death. He was a proud man and had a lot of enemies, so one of them might have been responsible for his death. But even at that, I still couldn’t shake off
•SANTINO•[16 YEARS AGO]“You said you’d give me the money today. I want it now. I have things to do and people to pay.”“I’m not working, Tom, and I told you that. I have to get money from my nephew’s trust fund. In a year, on his 21st birthday, I’ll receive payment for my caretaking.”I controlled my breathing while leaning against the wall outside the living room, eavesdropping on my aunt’s conversation with her boyfriend.I knew she meant no harm to me because she had dedicated her entire life to raising me and didn’t have anyone in the house until I was eighteen.I was just angry that when she thought she could find love and focus on herself; she got a loser for a man. It wasn’t fair—he didn’t deserve her.“Then you must make a plan so that I get the money, Arya. You know I will be dead if I don’t pay the people.”“There’s no other plan than to wait until the next payout of his trust fund. I’ll ask him for a thousand dollars and give it to you. I don’t want him to suspect anythin
•SANTINO•“I don’t like pink. You should have asked me, rather than assuming that, because Valentino bought me a pink Maserati.” She scolded before she walked to the front door and slammed the door behind her.She was angry with me, and though I wanted to run after her and apologize for my stupidity, I was running late for my job.Today was the day. We had to be there on time so we wouldn’t mess up our plans and get the diamonds.Luckily, Mario cut a deal with Mateo and he promised not to tip Vin about our plans because they were also going on their second diamond heist in Florida.‘Oh, well. There goes my plan of trying to make her happy before leaving,’ I groaned as I took my cell phone from my pocket and called Cole.“Are you in New York?”“Yeah, Camilla and I arrived two hours ago. Are we still meeting in the usual spot?”“Yes, but first,” he chuckled. “I want to know how Camilla agreed to come back. I thought you told me she was aloof about the trip and you were thinking of comin
